Nulldc dreamcast emulator - General Questions and Answers

Just wondering if anyone has heard any new news about the dreamcast emulator for android? Like maybe when will it be available? I heard about it back in Dec. But havent heard anything about it since.

I had no idea someone was even considering making a Dreamcast emulator. Damn I still use mine to play some good old homebrew. I'll look into this.

I am one of the testers for drk|Raziel.. He is "tired" for now. Unfortuantely he doesnt seem to want to work on it further and he hasnt given indication he will release source code made after 2006(the source that is out now). The android port was based off of the psp port. Its sad, but the emu may never be completed :| I have tried to get zotdd and yongzh to start on it perhaps or maybe drk can release the source code of what he has completed as of now. There is however, work on a Gamecube/Wii emu for android right now.

Its brilliant to hear that someone is working on a Gamecube/Wii emulator. Do you know who the dev is? and do you know how far they have got with it?

does anyone have info about this emu app?
androidpit.com/en/android/market/apps/app/androidemu.dc/DreamCast-Emulator-emu
named dreamcast emulator emu by mj apps
who created androidemu series
and I never heard about him or her
this app appeared to android market recently
then suddenly disappeard
I'm not sure that there could be someone who downloaded it
anyway I guess it could be fake
but I wanna know if someone has info about it or not
peace!

looks highly suspicious to me, i googled it and it actually reads the same as the dreamcast rom manager currently on the market by "sweet-droid". i wouldnt install it even if it was free.
On a side note has there been any update inregards to the developer releasing an early build or an open source version to test with? I currently have a DHD and am very keen to see how it can handle a bif of skies of arcadia. Ive been frantically googling every connotation of nulldce and there doesnt seem to be an apk file anywhere.
p.s sorry for bumping an older post, i didnt think it was needed to create a new thread when this one was still here.

If you were a tester could you possibly talk to him about releasing what he has already completed? Atleast sharing his work so others can continue? Or if you have the files could you release them?

Good luck on a gamecube emulator considering high end PC's can't emulate with a high fps. However I am looking forward to seeing how this turns out

My friend works with Yongzh and i know zodttd well if Drk Raziel is interested in parting with his source we can try and get them to complete it

LOL
I just found this after randomly searching google for dreamcast, emulator and android... and all manner of combinations. A few youtube vids of drk|Raziel's effort later and here I am.
I've read few quite a number of opinions that a Dreamcast emulator is unlikely...
It used Windows CE, and a lot of games utilized this along with a lot of Direct X code... and not many people are happy to use it or publish it as its Microsoft code... so even if one did appear theres a likely hood that google would take it down.
Its a shame... I was really looking forward to Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star II and Silver, i mean i owned em once!
http://uk.gamespot.com/dreamcast/rpg/silver/images.html?tag=images

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one looking for a Dreamcast Emulator for android...and that I'm not the only hardcore fan of the best RPG EVER CREATED Skies Of Arcadia...I will never get over that game and I was looking forward to exploring the massive levels and skies of arcadia again on my Android...has there been any updates since the original OP?

I'm interested if there is any update as well.

Any ETA on a BETA release!?!?

No, but surely it will come just when we desist of looling for info about it. Exactly what have happened to me with this lil update
Really hope Raziel is back to his blog posting some new any time, you know, just to hype us...

this is my video and I hope to excite drk|Raziel to put forth more work on this emu.. he could easily get it to full speed but he has reluctantly given up on most of his computer hobbies as of late. I wish I could lie and say its a new build but I wont. It is from Dec 2010 on an OC'd android SGS II with 1.6ghz on Entropies kernel.. with other optimizations, gpu oc and a faster rom (ics) we may see full speed on this phone for Crazy Taxi as well as other games.. To respect drk I will not post the apk (not yet). As he supposedly still may work on it. He supposedly got depressed when no one wanted to give him a dime to continue his work on Wii-nullDC, PS3-nullDC, and PSP/Android-nullDC.

PSX4droid release imminent!!

I am not the dev. I was on twitter and saw that the dev wrote that he is all signed up to put apps in the market and that a release is imminent. And that "tomorrow is going to be exciting" so maybe he is going to release to the market tomorrow, hopefully. Here are the tweets. Been waiting for this app since it was previewed.

Also not sure if anyone has seen this, but it seems that the same guy who did Wii controller IME is working on making the PS3 controller work with our phones.
Somebody's working on PS3 pad support but it isn't me. I should have known that picture would have caused some confusion..
Sick for both posts! I knew about the emulator, but the controller thing will be awesome!
He didn't say he was releasing the emulator. Just that "a release" is imminent. I'm not getting my hopes up until I see it

Again, to clarify the confusion over one of my tweets I am not developing support for the DualShock3, that is our very own member pikipirs who also did the Wiimote support and made the famous Mario Live Wallpaper. You can read about it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7324669&postcount=457

Do you have an ETA for the release of the emu?
Anyone know what type of file this emu is going to use? I want to download some games ahead of time so I can test this out once its released. And what website would I be able to download from? I know a couple but want one that has a bunch of PS games.

The app is by the people who did psx4iphone. Therefore, its should be just the same as the iphone version. Now just lookup info about how to run games on psx4iphone and you are set.

Its out in the market now!!! Cost is $5.99. I bought it anyway. lol. If you do buy this, at first it was running slow, then I bumped up the screen refresh rate to 40 and its running really smooth. Playing Crash Bandicoot. lol.

I can't get my isos to work
What games has everyone tested it with? I'm thinking about getting it, but it price is pretty steep.
Yeah I think I'm gonna have to lay down 6 bucks for this. I need to play me some colony wars.
Completely unplayable at all refresh rates on an overclocked EVO running Android 2.2 (Froyo). Games all run in slow motion.
Tried:
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Final Fantasy 7
Chrono Cross
I'm running the latest stock Rom, rooted. I've tested ff7 and ff tactics. Both work beautifully. Tried a crash team racing Rom ISO which never booted.
... what refresh rate are you using? Do you have to close the emulator and re-open it when changing refresh rates? Changing them didn't seem to do anything for me.

ios 4.0 on HTC devices like Magic (amazing)

hello guys.
This is the crazy idea to hack ios on other devices.
here is the video link.

Never Its Real? Anyone over XDA tested this?
IOS is not Open Source and you have to build drivers on your own and u have to hack the whole OS and i think we dont have this sources for older IOS´es so why for this?
video won't work by the way... well at least in wales...
Video played for me. Looks real, but it could just be a synced video being played. But whatever, CM6 is better than iOS4 anyday.

While we're on that topic, can you tell me what is so good about CM and why is it better than other custom ROMs please???
Unless someone has obtained a leak of the iOS source code, this would not be possible.
I don't know.
It's not hacked by me.
He says he have crack the ios,and wifi, sms, call works well now.and wait to some day,he will release the ROM.

cyanogenmod compiler gui

This is the cmc compiler, so if anyone is really wanting cyanogen, but is not a real *nix person, but had ubuntu installed, go grab this and check it out. I just pulled it down a little while ago and I am playing with it as I write this.
It is pretty slick.
Let's try and figure this thing out, and see if just maybe we can get some version of CM working.

interesting. I started to go through it and it does not yet support non official devices, but says that that option will be added. We should keep an eye on it.

If you actually install and run it, it says when you go to select your device, that later in the gui, that you CAN work with unsupported devices, it has been updated a lot. I found an article on the main XDA site that said about a month ago, that this was sort of abandoned, but now it is back in full force with a ton of unlisted updates.
I am syncing repos with it right now, and it is FAST.
P.S. it seems to be much like my script, only that it is in GUI form, for the less "command line" savy, that is why I thought it might get a few others interested in this.
Looks interesting Going to check it out tomorrow......
I've been thinking about dusting off my over-a-decade ago linux skills to work on this some in my free time. This just made it easier to get off my butt.
Thanks, Jim.

Haha thanks . Sure, I could try to get it to build, just don't be upset if it doesn't boot all the way like the current state of this rom
I'm going to need someone to test it though since I don't have that device. I have a HTC Hero CDMA for Sprint, but the charging port is no good, and since I'm not a soldering-boss I would need a whole new motherboard (http://goo.gl/LcOJM). Not to mention that I don't know if they're even somewhat compatible with each other.

sorry i only port, never from source
I have actually been wanting to port B2G to the g1 for a while now (I've been building the source for the emulator since it was very early on at andreasgal's github).
I'm building it now and will try to see why it's not booting, if I have a little extra free time, after I finish my next LMCFroyo release.
There's really no reason to try polishing anything before now and the actual release; there will probably be many large changes over the course of the year. However, there's no reason to not toy around with this right now in order to see what changes will need to be made in the gecko/gaia source.

Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
The only two that can not be emulated as if yet would be ps3 and 360 and its kinda like a sky drive type deal that all the games are stored on so they are nor installed on the phone per say but on the drive so that way you can download two or 3 at a time straight to the phone with out changeing any file formates and when you want some different ones you delete and install the others and even if you delete the games all your save states stay on the emulator and you also can do the same with the emulators if you don't want them in the phone ATM you can delete them and reinstall when you want and all save states and everything will stay in that file that's in the emulator that will be in your account forgive me for not putting more detail in the post I will surely make a new one now and fix all that Lol but ya I guess what makes mine unique from the rest is that they are my own build very very minimal bugs and you get a online storage space that will come with the apk with all the games all the emulators and everything
