yeah i know what you meant by SU file. it does work.. you just gotta flash the Google Apps. Download http://goo-inside.me/gapps/ and put it onto your SD card then boot into Clockwork Recovery and flash it... then you're good.
The reason why Gapps are separate in this ROM compared to every other ROM is because Google sent a C&D to CyanogenMod back in the days about distributing gapps.
I uploaded my own package of gapps located here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?owlea6l8qcm8ze3
This includes the LATEST market version (2.3.3) which is a huge improvement over the one listed on the link above.
As far as kernels, just wikipedia what a kernel is. All ROMs include kernels, the CM7 includes stock kernel. Kernels allow further customization, I would highly recommend going with Netarchy's kernels. The 1.2.7 is the latest test build and 1.2.5a being the latest stable. Make sure you download the CM7 compatible version.
His kernel is located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936219 -- read the thread to see what it offers.
To install kernels, you do the same thing just flash the kernel from Clockwork. Everytime you flash a new ROM, you'll have to reflash the kernel since the ROMs come with kernels that will override your existing kernel.
If you use Netarchy, be sure to download "Voodoo Control" from the market to utilize Voodoo color & Voodoo sound. https://market.android.com/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.controlapp
i just did the same exact kernel you have in your sig and just got alot of force closed stuff and the link to your gapps did not let me install it said instalation aborted but i did install the one from the other page but this also gives me alot of forced closed stuff and no signal like the kernel

it should all i did was change vending.apk works fine for me but try the one from goo-inside.me instead
and kernels shouldnt FC. you need to do fix permissions -- you also need to download the kernel corresponding to your android version and CM7 kernel if you're doing that.
flash clockwork mod andrestore back to your previous.
yea i am using the same rom as you and the gapps work now but i want to do the kernel you where telling me but it gave me force close but i will try it again
CFS BUILDS:
Netarchy Nexus - 1.2.5-cfs-2.3.3
Netarchy Nexus - 1.2.5a-cfs-2.3.3 (CM7 2.3.3 Compatible) *fixes wifi issue*
which do i do i did the 1.2.5a last time

Hi
I just installed Cyanogenmod 7 Magpie for g1/Dream.
But gapps are not here, and I tried a few version and it doesn't work.
Can someone point me to the right version of gapps?
thanks
What do you need specifically?
If you need GMail, GTalk, GMap, you can download that from the market. That is what I did.
I've had the same problem, just install magpie then install google apps. restart. then you will see you don't have them so you restart again and you should at least see books in your list.
Well, this is what I did
EzGb Gapps are working with cm7 magpie. Install the latest one (top of the last quote)

ok thanks I got the file and flashed it...then I can log in to my google account and download the gapps...but it just stopped in the middle of the downloading process, I see the desktop, empty, and can do nothing .
Is there a different .zip for EB1 (french Dream)?
There are two .zip for installing CM 7 Magpie in french, should I install the one whose name contains "obex"...I don't know what is obex?
thanks
It's odex, not obex, but no, you don't need that. You need the latest version of the rom: update-cm-7-20110727-Magpie-DS-signed.zip plus gapps from terry's thread, don't worry it contains french.
I assume that you assume FR means french but no, it means Firerat, so you installed a very old version of the rom.
Btw about the market install/download fails
Buuggggss
I expect there are more than listed here
Sometimes a market install fails complaing about space
usually a second attempt works
the pm command can start a soft reboot if the file argument you give it doesn't exist
It was broken before I started messing with it, I should fix it but keep forgetting

Yes indeed I assumed FR meant French!
Ok but when I tried to install the the more recent .zip, I had the android.phone app crashing constantly, making the phone unusable.
edit: I reflashed the rom, and the gapps at the same time, it seems to work fine now.
thanks to you all
Wipe properly, from fastboot! If you use ext, than format it. Everything should be okay.
I'm running it right now, since it's released. I didn't have a single problem with it, it's a lil slow compared to fbl, but it's working ok.
I didn't know it was better to wipe from fastboot.
I wiped from recovery, I flashed the rom and gapps immediately. Then I booted to rom, and it is ok.
Cyanogenmod 7 magpie seems to work fine, but, indeed, a little slower than froyobylaszlo. How froyobylaszlo was getting unusable for me because of the "damaged sd card" error, and made me loose a lot of data (and was not in french).
Thanks to you all for your help.
I flashed cyanogenMod music edition v4 then i flashed google apps form recovery it said that installation complete but when booted my device i did'nt see any apps like market etc i tried to flash again but same result. please help me guys!

* Do 'Wipe data/factory reset' in recovery.
* Reboot & enjoy.
Every custom modification to devices have risks. Flash this at your own risk!

Installing now. Thanks, Is this pre rooted? sorry i'm new to nexus 7. just got it for 3 days
There's a new Google Apps specifically for 4.2.2 now, if you didn't know OP
Also consider comparing other kernels like LeanKernel and M-Kernel, both were good enough to make me switch from franco.
Thanks, Updated to new Google Apps.
And overall performance of franco kernel is really good, anyway let me check those kernels.

yes, Its pre-rooted (adb), but you need to install SuperSu/SuperUser to get full access.
I have SuperSu installed in my device, but my device is still not rooted. Could you please tell me how to root my device? Would love to use your rom as my daily driver.
For SuperSU app to work, you need modified 'su' binary. So, Flash any SuperSU/Superuser's su binary and then try again.

Hi,
After i installed the ROM last night, im having problems installing purchased apps from the Play store. I'm getting an error message saying `Couldnt install to USB storage or SD card`
I've tried searching for the solution but most mention about unmounting the storage which, for the nexus 7, isn't an option
Oh, I'm completely new to all of this by the way!
Many thanks

Sounds like a permissions issue. I would format the drive. Or ask in the q&a section on how to fix permissions.

I'm thinking about installing CM10, but I have a couple of quick questions:
Does the latest build still have over clocking leading to "burnt NANDs"?
Which gapps zip do I need to install? Super stripped? (What if I install mounts2SD, can I get full gapps then?)
Have the force closes in the camera been fixed now?
Will mounts2SD work with CM10, allowing me to install as many apps as I want? And has anyone tried installing it with the Play Store app?
Thanks for any help.

Hi ya
How are you doing??
1. If you Flash with latest kernel ,which is not overclocked, it'll not probably produce burnt nand.
2.super stripped only
3. Full gapps is a total junk ~ they go to /system ~you can symlink them to app ~system in mount2SD. Big work
4. Camera AFAIK is totally unstable ~at least for me.. some say it's better etc. As always third party cams work fine (you can read my signature link to know more)
5. Ya.. it'll work. Mount2SD will let you install as many as you want as per size of SD ext ~however kernel 3 has problems mounting SD ext ~some partition types ~but once it works, it'll work for ever until you change recovery or change partitions
6. I am using the play store version. Working fine for me. I would've recommended play version for your stock Rom as well, if they released mount2SD @ that time

u cn use the signed GAPSS, if you prefer....
You unzip the Stripped version, and the Signed GAPPS....
Copy everything from the SIGNED GAAPS that are ALREADY present in Stripped version... rest throw in trash..
RE-ZIP.... you got a SIGNED STRIPPED GAPPS...

USE the STRIPPED VERSION OF GAPPS!
INSTEAD of m2sd,use INT2EXT!! IT manages your data more efficiently!!
AND THE LATES cm10 beta#6 (oc 800Mhz) doesn't burn your NAND!! I TOO AM USING IT!!

Flashing a ROM is an inherently risky operation. You alone are responsible for any damages, data loss, or dead kittens caused by flashing this ROM. Nexus devices are notoriously hard to brick, but should you do so by either your own error, omission, or a by flaw in this ROM you have been forewarned.
Introduction
Flo++ is an AOSP Kitkat (KOT49H) based ROM with the stock kernel aimed mostly at minimalists that want a clean base installation with basic power user functionality. GAPPS are not installed to allow you to flash flash the GAPPS package of your choice. I recommend going with one of the PA GAPPS packages.

FAQ
Q. Can I install this without a custom recovery?
A. In theory, Yes. Just do a factory reset and it *should* work. You do have backups , Right?
As of v0.3 you must use a custom recovery (until I resolve the signing issue using AROMA)
Q. Why doesn't GPS work?
A. Short answer: Actually it does (confirmed with GPS test), you need to install a GPS app or flash GAPPS with Google Maps in order to actually "use" GPS. Longer answer here.
Q. Backup and restore doesn't work. whats wrong?
A. Backup and restore functionality comes with GAPPS or a special transport service written for a storage service. Since I do not intend to host anyone's backups there is a fix posted here. This issue will be fixed before the ROM is released from Beta status (version 1.0).

Known Bugs /Issues
[20140408] Backup and reset do not work out of the box. - workaround here . This will be fixed in next release, but you can enable the function by following the directions in the post.
[20140314] Aroma signature breaks ROM signature. Will fix this when I get a chance, but until then use unsigned zip.
[20149316] It has been reported that GPS is not functional on v0.3 will investigate the report and update as soon as possibile
GPS works (confirmed with GPS test) For user functionality install a third party GPS Nav app or flash PA mico modular GAPPS and install GMaps.

Whoops I misread your question. This is built GNU make 3.81 x86_64-pc-linux-gnu on Debian Jessie/SID using the standard AOSP /prebuilts. I have not decided whether or not to use Linaro.
Right now I'm working on getting the Aroma installer configured. The next version (probably tonight or tomorrow) will include the qc dalvik and bionic optimizations and a couple more tweaks.

Advanced reboot and immersive mode and I would be set, especially with the QC and bionic stuff.
This is the perfect ROM I think for me to build my car nexus off since I will be running Timur's kernel + services. I want as minimal as possible.

I'll have a look at this and recheck the proprietary blobs to make sure they are current.
If you want to give building a ROM for deb a go just start here:
http://source.android.com/source/index.html
To compile it you'll need to have a working 64 bit Linux installation, it seems most of the folks here are using Ubuntu. There are tons of tutorials and if you get stuck shoot me a PM and I'll help if I can.

Apparently this is a semi "known" issue with AOSP stock builds. It has been reported in the past that GPS won't work without GMaps. I flashed PA mico modular GAPPS (it doesn't have Gmaps) and installed GPS test and it reported that the GPS is indeed working.
For a car installation this would work well if you have a third party Navigation app you prefer over GMaps.
I then installed GMaps which further confirmed GPS is working. I've come to the conclusion that this is not "broken" , but is a feature that is not supported "out of the box" by the AOSP build. Makes sense to me since supporting the hardware is OS responsibility, where utilizing the data is application level responsibility.
Any updates ?
Mind if I try to port this to deb?

I took a short (enforced) break due to internet issues last week. Right now I'm in the process of recompiling the ROM and cleaning up the installer so It will be a couple days before I upload a new version.
Have at it I don't have a deb device to test with, but if you have any problems I can try to help you through it in PM.
Work issues have slowed down my progress (double shifts and no days off... ) The next update will include freshly compiled Android Terminal and the latest update of SuperSu.
This project is not abandoned - just slowed down for a bit
