is there a bluetooch gamepad and case for htc desire? kind of transform it into a portable console? the htc desire on top and it's gamepad at the bottom?
I'm actually looking for the same thing! If anyone knows, please inform us!
It'd be nice, but as far as I know, there's nothing like that (being sold, anyway). I've been looking for one myself since not long after I got mine, which was a while back now.
There's a couple controllers I think being sold in marketplace, modded wii classic controllers. The wii controller seems best suited for it, I think it'd be great if someone made a custom case to house these 2 together
for me, wiimote looks too big for it? want a portable gamepad... msi bgp100 looks nice and quite portable but does not seem to fit the htc desire
it should just fit it, but that one's made for using portrait, not very good for almost every game really. if they made one for landscape mode games, it'd be perfect
iControlPad? http://icontrolpad.com/
Works over bluetooth, but currently only fits small iPhone sized phones, but you might JUST get away with a desire. Their forum has some posts on what fits and one member posted a load of images of phones fitting/not fitting in the pad.
Says in stock and shipping too!
EDIT Found the posts with the pictures showing what fits. Not a massive selection, but something you have might be comparable.
http://boards.openpandora.org/index...fit-clamp-set-1/page__view__findpost__p__9379
the icontrolpad looks nice! this the kind of case i am looking for!!! you think the desire will fit in it?
edit: don't think it will fit... Droid Incredible and Sanyo Zio are slightly too large and they are 117.5 and 116mm wide respectively and they are slightly too large for the icontrolpad while desire is 119mm.. do won't fit
Well its only 4mm longer than an iPhone. They will be making new clamps for larger phones so it's only a matter of time.
I've ordered one anyway. I don't have a Desire though, Nexus One and SGS (which has no hope of fitting in clamp set #1). Should be able to test fit one though, a fellow at work has one.
yup even if it's too tight, you can try the tip given there
http://boards.openpandora.org/index.php?/topic/2033-clamps-too-tight-loosen-bottom-screw/
to lossen the screw... hope the nexus one fits in! it has similar dimensions as the desire

Ok, I've been a very proud owner of the Samsung Omnia i8910 for a few months now... Still considering which phone I'm going to keep now after getting the Nexus one.
But I just wanted to confirm that awhile back I bought a car dock/holder for the Omnia but to my suprise and delight it fits the Nexus absolutely perfect. IMO this is the best car holder on the market. Proclip USA makes excellent products and I can confirm this particular dock is not only excellent but fits the N1 perfect as well.
Defininetly more expensive than others especially those you can find on ebay from china... but for me well worth it. If anyone is considering this their website - proclipusa.com - you need to select your country and then they give you the option for make of car and make of phone. Obviously there is no selection for the Nexus one but I can guarantee the model of phone you need to select is the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD, the product number is - 511020 - put that in the search and you'll find it. This is for the Holder with tilt swivel which is perfect for maps & navigation as you can swivel it landscape for great looking directions... they even have a model with a built in charger but I just opted for the holder with tilt swivel.
I am not affiliated with this company whatsoever just a happy customer.
Again it is expensive but I love it and love the fact you can select the make of your car and it comes pre-configured to mount to it.
**Edit: Forgot to mention there is no drilling and messing up your dash... just simply applies with a sticky backing and can easily be uninstalled without any damage whatsoever.
I am not sure that what you are describing or the pictures attached are what is typically considered to be a dock.
A dock would include a charging station, that is the purpose of the contacts on the bottom of the Nexus one. Ideally, the docking station would allow you to use transmit the Nexus One media thru the auto sound system.
Thanks for the information but that is a phone holder not a dock. The dock will be capable of charging the phone through the contact points on the bottom of the N1. The dock may also interface with your car radio and possibly other functions yet to be determined.

link? can you provide a link from where you bought the dock from?
Yes I think I put the link in at the OP but its at proclipusa.com
Also stated I believe is that yes I just bout the holder and since there is an opening at the bottom charging is perfect as it hooks up right to the bottom but I didn't get the other version offered which included a coiled charging station.
I do like the look of that phoneclip, however my only concern that I can see is, how does the phone not vibrate out of it while its horizontal?
This fits the N1 so good that it almost takes two hands to pull it out... there's no way it can come out without pulling it out and certainly not due to vibration.
Would it being as tight as you say, cause it to wear out on the phones material on the sides?

Seconded, this would be good to know too. Although I've already ordered one, which hopefully should just connect to the existing brodit mount I had for my Touch Pro 2.
Wow, I checked into that website. I really like the interface of the website. How it shows pictures of your specific dash, and where and how the phone will sit. Very expensive. I mean 65 bucks, for the setup and that is only the mount and swivel. No way. When the real Nexus One docks come out. The Car Mount is going to be 50 and the desktop mount will be 40. Both the dock's will use the gold contacts on the bottom for charging. And the car dock should have options to work directly with car stereo (optional of course).
Wait guys it's coming about 10 day is my guess.
Well mine came in the post today. Screwed onto the existing mount I had for my Touch Pro 2 just fine. The N1 does indeed fit fine but is very tight. Didn't scratch the phone and no way is it falling out when horizontal.
I've been using my Iphone in car with this dock.
Just Mobile Xtand Go (google it)
I was really impressed to see that it EXACTLY fits my N1
IMHO, it's really the best dock around
now...i am just missing FM transmission.
Would you need pics...please request
I am using this car dock until the real Nexus One docks are ready. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DQQBVW...e=asn&creative=380341&creativeASIN=B001DQQBVW
If you are looking for a good bluetooth stereo for your nexus that works really well. Try this one. http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_105KDA805/JVC-Arsenal-KD-A805.html?search=JVC+KDA805&ssi=0
Once you sync your stereo with your phone the first time. You can just leave your phone in your pocket if you want, you can answer phone calls from your stereo, or even make them from your stereo if you want, you can listen to music from your phone on the stereo by just using the stereo's remote. With you phone still in your pocket.
If a person doesnt want to replace their stereo and just want's to use a fm transmitter. Get the motorola t505 I used it for 3 months it does work. Hands free driving syncs with any stereo any car. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875982214&Tpk=motoraloa t505
The ProClip holders are quite nice, but I think the Omnia II might be a better fit:
Nexus One: 119 x 59.8 x 11.5
Omnia II: 118 x 59.6 x 12.3
Omnia i8910: 123 x 58 x 12.9
The OmniaII's width is just .2mm thinner than the Nexus and thickness is only .8 thicker.

bought this to use with my G1 back when the Sprint Hero Nav app was dumped.. used it many times and works excellent with the Nexus One as well ... it rotates landscape and it unclips to use in the dash vent .. i originally wanted it because it doesnt interfere with the touchscreen and its low profile wont let it vibrate too much..and it has a good grasp on the phone without damage (i run a track setup on my suspension with competition spring rates and coilovers.. along with solid engine mounts)

Hi All
Found an interesting bike mount for the Desire HD. Waterproof and mount on handlebars. There is a hole to use your headphones while riding. From Play.com £14.99
http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/...-Desire-HD/Product.html?ptsl=1&ob=Price&fb=0#
Nice idea but too pricey for me. Would be great when geocaching tho
Liking this, would love to see something similar for runners.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I found this to work well. Not the cheapest but has not dropped the phone yet or fallen off!

That looks very interesting. How exactly does it hold onto the handlebar? That is, would it be OK for off-road?
@ Steve - your link took me to a "desk-sync cable" Do you have another link
Any photos, specifically of the mount itself, would be well received
I have got a bike holder for my HTC Desire HD. It is modificated Dicota. (I bought it as a holder for my HP iPAQ, than it holds Touch PRO and now DHD)
I have got a photo, which was taken some days before, and i was photographing bike, not that holder
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=928847&l=acbcbfb1fe&id=1680198082
And it is now waterproof
// I can take a close photo if u want. Just send me a message

exactly what i was looking for
for German costumers you can get Bike Holders for the DHD here http://www.monav24.de/shop/index.php?cPath=84_86&SESS=815d0cf70b0ec016a31d561b6a314342
Anyone got any better suggestions, i bought the waterproof case/mount for my DHD and its terrible for the job. It's just a tom tom case filled with stuffings. Really bad poor quality. Regarding it's purpose to hold and protect my phone, it fails as the case is far too big and it's not waterproof as it has holes for earphones. All in all poor.
The Iphone bike mount seems all well-made and fit for purpose. Why can't someone make a proper mount for out Desire HD.
I think there are craftsmen and their own hands to make

Hi,
I read back a couple of posts and I think that http://buybits.com/product/8890.aspx would do a better jobby. There are a couple about I tried mobfun but they said they had them but when I ordered they were OOS - which others have said too.
Wished I had searched here first.
But the buybits people seem to have a lot of bits and bobs that do later phones. Had a few things off them from the web and they seems to do what they say on the bag lol.
Dunno would not want a crash with any new phone - you know they would just fall apart lol

UltimateAddons Waterproof Case for HTC Desire HD (+ bike mount)

Just to let you know, it is made for iPhone 4g and HTC Desire HD does not fit it properly. Seems like a quality product, but they should a) make a bigger case for Desire HD and/or devices of that size and b) stop marketing this product deceitfully.
If someone finds a proper case (or another fraudulent one), please do post here!

I was wondering did anyone find any good stylus that is compatible with the hp touchpad. This was my main reason why I got the touchpad so I can use it for note taking and sketching. I want to get a really good one for the touchpad or for any future tablets i might get in the future.
This is what I´m searching for, too. I think the Wacom Bamboo Stylus is the best you can get for capazative displays at the moment...but it´s a bit too expensive for my taste. Any other suggestions?
Sorry, I don't have much to recommend. I've wondered how a stylus would work on the Touchpad. I'm coming from the Nook Color, and from what I understand, no stylus really works well with it. I personally have some el-cheapo meritline stylii that didn't work with it at all -- I'll have to try those on the Touchpad. The HTC Flyer is supposed to have a nice stylus too, but I'm not sure if it has anything special to play nice with the Flyer hardware.
The other thing is - do you have a worthwhile note-taking or drawing app to use it with? I couldn't really find anything that seemed that great in the app catalog. I downloaded one drawing app, but it seemed a little kiddie-oriented.
Just a short info: flyer is another universe...it´s an active digitizer which is just working with special hardware...you can´t use an active digitizer on a normal capacitive screen

I know in what section i am, are you? Touchpad = WebOS + uncoming Android. Im giving him a suggestion for what to use if he migrates to Android when it comes. So if you got a better suggestion, go ahead.
Till then, check this out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ell2nR8f9Wo
k, so I have three, here's my review
1) generic rubber-tipped one - it was basically a plastic straw with a rubber bubble (hollow inside) at the end. It was ok for pointing, sucked at anything that needs a longer press since it was smooshy.
2) Dagi p501 - Works great once its held at the proper angle. The angle is not hard to hit, but once off, it feels a bit weird since it's not symmetrical.
3) Dagi p504 - GET THIS ONE. It's great, can easily write with it and its got a flexible tip, so it's always in full contact with the screen.
Caveat - the hp touchpad kinda sucks for note taking. When trying to draw a circle, it turns into more of an octagon. Maybe it's the application (Just draw, got from hp app cat) but i tried to do stuff with my viewsonic gtab and it was smooth enough to write cursive (though I had to remember how to write cursive)

Yes, that's the one... I have one of the "lite" versions on the NC. It's really good. I also have another one that's for note-taking, but you can write on the screen and it will put it inline with other text like in a notebook. Hopefully apps like this someday make their way to the TP one way or another.
I would like to get some opinion from you guys....
I am a startup developing a new kind of mobile device that combines a phone and tablet - putting a 7" screen on a less than 5" phone body. (It is not like the Galaxy Note, where the size is fixed.)
SO when you just want to make calls, check SMS and emails, just use the "phone mode" with a 4"+ screen.
When you want to surf web, watch videos/photos, transform it into a 7"-screen tablet.
Now my question is about the potential market for this device, as it seems that no company is creating a device like this, I am worried if there's no market for it.
a) For those of you carrying two devices (a phone and a tablet), are you feeling a bit inconvenient, annd would you like to have this device?
b) For those of you carrying only a phone, would you like to have a bigger screen, perhaps 7", while retaining the same portability?
c) Would you still buy a 10" tablet after you have this device? (assuming you already have a laptop)
Your help will be very much appreciated!
the first thing that came to mind upon reading this post is the asus padfone.
i do carry the 2 devices (S2 + TF101), and IMO it isn't really a big inconvenience, thus i might not be that interested. Unless it comes with a unique feature / selling point?
cheers.
if the tablet could make calls and i could pair a Bluetooth headset to it, i would get it. maybe it would stop me from texting and driving if it was 10 inch
I see no market for it. Some will buy it for what it is but not enough to make profit or even break even. Try focussing resources on let's say the body of the Droid Razr with an edge to edge screen, custom ROM that gets rid of the touch buttons of the bottom of the device so that can be more room for screen. I would buy something like that.
Or how about a smart-watch that can sync with any tablet to become a secondary display.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
Didn't they already do this? And if I recall it kinda flopped... Not being negative, but I think people are used to carrying around a bunch of gadgets...

Thanks for your reply.
There are some aspects of Padfone that we don't think it will be a market success:
1. You still need to carry the 10" screen, and it is not as portable as a 4+" phone 2. When the phone is inside tablet, you'll need a headset to receive and make calls
Anyway our product is not in compete with padfone, although we have something in common - to combine devices from different categories. The key difference, besides the size, is that we emphasize on PORTABILITY; while they probably emphasize on versatile performance.
Our device is small and light and easily slip into pocket, yet comes with a beautiful 7" screen.
BTW, we think the combination of devices (our device + laptop/ultrabook) is more reasonable than (Padfone + laptop/ultrabook), because Padfone size is already very similar to laptop, and almost everyone already has a laptop.

Do you mean Sony's Tablet P?
However, since there is a bezel between the two screens, it cannot be seen as a one screen tablet when unfolded. In fact this is one of the main reason why it gets poor reviews and market reactions (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-03-21/what-was-sony-thinking-with-tablet-p-rich-jaroslovsky.html). The bezel is simply annoying.
Our startup have found a way to remove the bezel.
Yes people now used to carry around many gadgets, because currently we have no choice
I love the idea of the padfone...4 inch phone during the day, 10 inch phone when at home.
If you have something to offer please let me know, as of know i am seriously looking at the padfone to be my next phone.

Good Stuff....Thanks
Tablet s Phone
I really dont understand why Tablets dont incorporate phones, I own a Dell Streak Mini 5, (best phone Ive ever owned) also a sony tablet s.
Both brilliant devices but most of the pros are duplicated by one or the other,
Dell streak, android device, good general purpose but screen too small for word processing or watching vids, not to mention the small onscreen keybord.
Tablet s, android device, good for all things android but no phone.
I dont follow the logic that there would be no market for a tablet device with a phone, I carry a phone and I carry a tablet I would far rather only carry one, i.e. the tablet with a phone in it, I use a blue tooth earpiece for all my phone/music/audio books so its not as if Ive got it stuck to my ear all the time, in fact the phone never comes out unless i want to use an app.
So the answer for me is a resounding YES device of that nature.
This is a great idea. Today's smartphones have all this horsepower but what good is it if the tiny screens make it a chore to get anything done. I'm having difficulty imagining how one would go about incorporating an additional big screen on a phone, but if you can do a clean job at it, I believe it will be success. By clean, I mean the screens should be good quality either glass or matte, not some flimsy folding ****.

Yes we are not using folding screens.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note exactly for this reason.
The screen is big enough for non-phone usage but small
enough to fit inside a pocket to carry around like you would
carry around a phone. It's already 5.4" so 7" is not that much
larger, you'd better have a real compelling reason for your
device in order to convince people who would otherwise
pick the Note.
Cool Idea
I don't know of your resource base, but have you seen the new translucent material they have demoed for new tablets. That would make your product something that would stand apart. They demoed the material at one of the electronic shows this year.

Okay I have been looking at getting a controller for my phone. Mostly to play emulators and such games. I would kinda like to get something that would be open to future Galaxy Phones, and perhaps work with my UAG case.
Okay, I found some really good controllers. One of the ones I found is PhoneJoy, it looks really good. It looks like it can fit the Note 3 as well as the HTC One. There forums aren't really too helpful. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about the company or perhaps which size should I go for to fit my phone. I am leaning towards the Note 3.

What do you guys think? Anyone own any controllers for their phone?
I have the steelseries free. It's an awesome controller and comfortable enough to keep in your pocket on the go!

Works with everything too
A PS3 controller with the Sixaxis app is the best that I've ever used

I like the F310, it's really cheap ~$15 when on sale.
But it takes up your usb port and requires OTG so it's not the most elegant at all.
I have a moga pocket, connects easily via BT. Tiny and clips to my galaxy s4 like a charm. Works with all the emulators I've tried via an unofficial driver app. Even come with a carry pouch. The only drawback is although it has 2 sticks, it has no actual dpad (Though the pro version does). http://store.mogaanywhere.com/Products/CPFA000253-01
