[Q] Change operator tag on lockscreen. - HTC Inspire 4G

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to change the operator tag (Where it says "AT&T") on the lock screen, it would be kinda nifty for a user to have custom text there?

You might want to go ask in the desire hd forums. They have had the phone for quite a while so are much more familiar.

Probably need to modify the framework to do that.

I would love to know how to do this myself. Has anyone found out how???

[req] Change carrier name..?

I was trying to find an app for my mytouch that is the same as make it mine for the iphone where it will change my lock screen from Tmobile to whatever I type in... anyone seen a program like this?
Sounds Cool
This sounds cool, that would be awsome if someone could make an app to do that
Also interested.....
Any news?
Google "Pulldown Editor 1.1 for Motorola Droid" and the first result will be what you are looking for. I'd post the link directly but my account isn't verified.
The app will change the banner in the pulldown shade as well as the name on the lockscreen, but there is a 16 character limit.
If your rooted I don't see why you couldn't do it yourself. If it's a pic file buff up on photoshop skills, if it's text It shouldn't be that hard to find the right value. However a GUI to do this would be convenient. I get sick of pushing files 24/7 especially after i update my rom
Well if someone knows a way to do that it would be great.
My carrier had the brilliant idea to name itself "Cytamobile-Vodafone CytaVoda". As you can see this takes up the whole screen. In my HTC Desire it causes the call timer and info to fall off screen so you can't see if the call was connected and how long the call took. You just see the carrier name.

Mail Account Icon Change

Not sure if this is even possible but was wondering if anyone knew if there is a way to change the icons in the Sense mail tab for the different accounts. I was thinking of maybe having the service logo or something like that.
Thanks in advance.
I don't think its possible. It would be quite difficult to configure if it was.

[Q] Change Icons to Stock Android?

hey everyone, not sure if this belongs in the general or development forum, but I figure I'll wing it. I was wondering if anybody new a way to change the app icons to the stock android ones? I have already tried using Better Cut with the icon pack but they looked pixelated, so I tried it with high res downloaded ones, and, wouldn't you know it, still pixelated. So I was wondering if there was a way to actually fully change the icon (not just make a shortcut with a new one). If so how would I go about this in a way to avoid pixelation, also, I wouldnt mind rooting to achieve this.
Thanks ^_^
I've been wondering about this myself. From what I've read, you're supposed to change the .png icon within the .apk file of the app. Problem is, I'm not sure if I have to re-install the .apk file for the new icon to take effect. Also, can I just move a .png icon to the .apk within the phone?

[Q] Help Request: Simplism ported for Dx?

So, I'm new to the forums (Hi), but I've been messing around with my phone well before i registered (rooted, deo'd, custom notification bar, ect). I'd like to see if anyone here has the ability to either help me with a project, or just to point me in the right direction. What I'd like to do, is port the lockscreen, notification bar, and (if possible) call answer screen from the Simplisim theme for the HTC Desire to the droid X. Simplism can be found in the Desire subform here, I just can't link to it yet...
I'm not sure where to start - I also posted in that thread. I'm currently working on the notification bar (The easy part ). Anyone have any ideas? ^_^

Im game to help, i wont be able to work on it till sunday though, but where do you want me to start. Or what do you need me to teach you to do
i would also love to see this and simplistic in the general android section i love that theme. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739804
Well, I'm already working on the statusbar up top... icons and looks and whatnot. I'll probably get to editing the XML and fonts soon. The REAL issue, at least for me, is how to get that sexy lockscreen and/or call answer screen on the Dx. Any ideas?

Making your own Lockscreen?

Is it possible on android to make your own lockscreen from scratch, or at least a custom combination type thing because I've had an idea for something that would be nicer then a numeric lock but less of a failure then pattern.
* In retrospect I probably should've scrolled down to android section, oh well.
Yes, is possible but you must know programing in java..
Been doing java for a couple years, could you point me to a reference or something that its been done before?
Well, you could go learn Java programming language and go from there, or you can use an app called WidgetLocker. It's free in the Play Store but there is also a paid version available for purchase. With this App you can change the slider on your lock screen and also add widgets like you would on your homescreen. You can also add app shortcuts to it. If you'd like to download more slider options go to this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=968613
There are hundreds of options to choose from. Just download it to your computer then drag it into your phones SD card and it should show up in the slider options. I hope this helps you out!
Y'know I know you probably want to get your 10 posts going and all but I see nothing in your reply that has anything to do with the original statement.
Sorry EphemeralMirage if no one has been of great help to you lately, I think he was just trying to help you and he was just trying to be nice. He didn't clearly understand your question, but being a bit nice to others would help in this forum.
You should probably check this guide out, have a look at it and see if it looks like what you need.

Thanks that looks like what I'll reference, as soon as I get the source stuff hammered out and all.
If you are looking to actually create your own way to unlock the screen
that is different than taking a stock method and changing the graphic.
It was something that I was going to look into, but I haven't got that far.
In the Nook, the screen unlockers are implemented in /system/framework/android.policy.jar
There are apparently three of them already:
LockScreen - the standard slide to unlock
LockPinKeyguardView - a four digit pin
LockPatternKeyguardView - apparently a pattern lock
So theoretically just use the source for that, add in yours and see what happens?
Then again that might be easier said then done, into AOKP I go!
