Using Cm7 rom, what is the difference between the screen timeout and the screen turned off? It seems like the same thing to me.
Also, is there a way to increase how long the screen stays on when you press the wake button while the phone is locked?

Hello,
I have a motorola Q9, but he previously had a Qtek S200 and a HTC X7500, and the operation was similar in the next related aspect.
The fact is I set the backlight to be shut down after 15 seconds, and that turns off the screen after a minute.
Well, after 15 seconds the backlight low intensity, but fails to shut down altogether.
After a minute, the screen was set off correctly.
It is possible to force the light goes out completely before it turns off the screen?
Thanks
not sure about motorola but
on htc devices it works like this
after the first timeout it turn off the backlight of the screen and then it dont use much power really
after the second timeout it turn off the device not just the screen
Ok guys.
I have a seriously annoying problem that has been here since CM6, at least since I started running it in late January, and is still
in CM7. Whenever you're listening to music, and have a screen lock delay (mine is set to 1 minute) whenever you press one of the
volume keys to adjust the volume the screen turns on. Yes, I have volume rocker wake unchecked in settings. This only happens during
the 1 minute time though, after it locks then the screen doesn't turn on. So if I had screen lock delay set at 5 minutes the volume
keys would continue to turn on the screen for 5 minutes until the lock activated. This happens if you have a lock delay, if you don't
then they never turn on the screen (unless you have it enabled in settings or you press one immediately after the screen turns off.)
If you have no lock/protection then this doesn't happen either, but if you have a delay it does. Please help, this wastes battery
life and is very annoying.
I'm running all stock on my Nexus 5 with 4.4.2. If I talk on the phone with it next to my ear the screen turns on and off as it should, so I know that the proximity sensor works. If I use the speaker phone and have the phone away from me, the screen goes black after a minute (which is what I have the screen timeout set to). The only way I can get it to wake up is to hit the power button. This is not a big deal except if I want the power button to end calls. Is there a way to wake the screen after it times out without using the power button? Or, is there a way to tell the phone not to shut off the screen during calls?
Thanks in advance.
If my screen it's off and i want to see the clock i press the home botton or the lock botton, but after that my screen don't turn back off for as long as my screen timeout time it's set.
If screen timeout it's set to 2min he will stay screen on in lock mode for 2 minutes.
How to set it back to 5 sec?

same problem here on one of the latest nightly... I would love a solution to this issue.
So the captivate has am amoled display which mean that when it is black, the pixels are off.
I want to use my phone as a smart home hub mounted to my wall, but I don't want to have to press a button to wake the screen. Ideally I could just tap the screen and the phone would wake. I am not worried about battery life, because it will be constantly plugged in, I just don't want to wear down my screen with it being lit all the time.
I know the semaphore kernel has touch wake, but the max timeout is 90seconds. Is there something that will let me make the timeout infinite in semaphore, or is there some other thing I can use to achieve this?
I am running CM11 with xposed if that helps.
