Root My Cliq to 2.2? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

So I have a Rooted 2.1 Cliq (used z4root) and I was wondering is there anyway I can get 2.2 on this thats stable and how?
Thank You in advance.

You should check out www.modmymoto.com the cliq has a limited amount of roms, but the guys over there are a pretty dedicated bunch. Maybe you can find something there.

Thank you and I will do.

Upgrading firmware for Motorola Cliq

Currently i am using a Motorola cliq and i was told to upgrade my firmware to 1.6. I am currently running 1.5. does anyone know how to upgrade it? My phone is running slow! the tech guy at a tmobile gave me this web site and told me someone should be able to help me here... so please help!
there is no 1.6 roms for the cliq, there is a beta port of a cyanogen rom, but last i checked it was just useable(telephonicly, if thats a word) but lots still didnt work, moto has stated they will just do motoblur updates then jump to android 2.1

[Q] I got a question about gingerbread

Hey guys as you may know gingerbread is running on almost every device now even my Droid Eris has 2.3 so I was wondering since the have cm7 for milestone now and it seems to be running pretty good and they can't flash custom kernels either I'd love to see 2.3 on this bad boy since got an almost 100% working froyo. Does anyone know what files are needed to get 2.3 up and running idc if anything works I just want it to mess with. Any input would be awesome.

The bootloader isn't unlocked on the XT720. Gingerbread isn't possible unless Motorola decides to unlock it or releases 2.3 for it (which is extremely unlikely).

Did you even read his post? He talked about CM7 on the normal Milestone 1, which isn't unlocked either. CM 7 is based on 2.3 If it works on the Milestone 1 with locked bootloader, then chances are big it works on the XT720 too.
Yes milestone 1 has a locked bootloader just like us they just have more developers than we do. Dexter gave me some insight on how to get it running so I'm gonna give it a try. I dont know alot about porting roms but Im reading up on it. We should be able to get it working tho. If anyone's knows anything about porting should give it a look.

[Q] need help with milestone

What is overclocking and what other mods woulde be usefull? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me with this.

[Q] Rooting a droid x with latest update

I am going to trade in my Droid A855 for a refurbed Droid X at Verizon. Assuming it has the latest post 2.2 build on it, what would be the best way to root it once I get it, assuming it can be done?

z4root is probably your best bet, which can be found here on XDA.
Do it
z4root.apk is the best and easy way of doing it. also official firmware is 2.2.1 but there is a leaked gingerbread 2.3.3 running amazing way better then 2.2.1. you will hate 2.2 but moto did a really nice job on 2.3. its very easy to root and flash

[Q] Droid 2 Gingerbread, from froyo root to gingerbread root?

Just curious, but if my droid 2 is rooted on froyo, is there a guide to getting it rooted on gingerbread? i would try stuff myself, but i believe that this calls for more practiced hands. Sorry for the noob question lol
