I think it uses the same CPU as Desire HD, and the same camera as our classy classic Desire, so it might actually be easier than DHD. But I am not a developer, so don't trust me.
Moved this to General.

why are there hardly and ROMS made for the inspire? it is a great phone, but does not seem to get my attention by devs?
Now that you're in the right section there are lots of inspire roms. The Inspire is a Desire HD at heart, creating specific roms for the inspire is double work for devs as the desire HD roms work just fine, especially since the source was released. You have lots of options in the inspire and desire HD development sections.

You sure can. I'm not sure about the miui but everything else is good to go, kernels too. Most roms even include the sound fix these days so no worries there either.

It's a "new" platform just released. Even though it's similar to the Desire. Going to take a bit. I had my captivate for 6 months and they're just now getting into some nice looking ROMs..expect the same out of Inspire , though I'm seeing faster footwork here.
Before I Purchase a HTC Inspire is this video tutorial pretty similar to the method of RC2.
Also what are the known flaws (if any) in the Android Revolution 4G 2.0.15 rom... since i am planning on flash that rom to my phone when i purchase it tomorrow.
Thanks.

Android rev with no sense is quote good in terms of battery use... And then there is leeroid. Flawless so far for me. I have gone through 7 roms on my inspire. These 2 are quote appealing to me
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App
It and Leedroid are great. I use Leedroid specifically because the battery life is amazing.
hiya just found this on htc facebook page
http://www.tech-gadget.co.in/2011/08/sense-35-from-htc-bliss-features-and.html
nice find! looks appealing, er a SENSEable!
hopefully we'l get the update or get it port on our SENSable devices
Looks Good...we could use it and the sooner the better.
Fingers crossed

I doubt we get this in any update. We will more than likely have to rely on one of the custom ROMs here for this. Keep in mind, I haven't read anything about it either way, that is just my opinion.
it's uggly..sense 3.0 so much better
Dont like the unlock ring

Baring in mind it's for slower devices I think it's quite good, if basic

Check out the latest CoreDroid rom
I.m running CoreDroid 2.3. They put together a sweet rom w/ (As the dev put) "Sense 3.5 Goodies".
In my opinion I think it looks pretty good with maybe the exception of the home screen rosie dock. not a fan, but I suppose a rom, or even a theme could fix it. It looks like its running pretty smoothly too! I likee
I got the inside word that its already been booted on the Desire HD looking forward to that
I am sceptical, don't see the about phone screen which tells you the sense version, wouldn't that be one of the first things you would show, even photoshoped to look authentic ;-).
I have seen moded phones already that look similar to this, that are sense 3.0
its been ported to htc desire HD!! if we wait a while im sure to see it on sense devices
I'm thinking of going back to sense after an extended period on miui as I'm bored and until the kernal is released ics is not fully functional. Now my question is what from do I choose. There are so many now there's 2.1, 3 or 3.5. Then there's Endymion, coredroid, bindroid and so on.
What I really want to know is what one works flawlessly and is smooth. Any suggestions to help me choose?

Endymion. By far the most stablest ROM.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
I also vote for endymion, not out of my own experience (I'm a cm freak^^), but because lowveld is a great dev and supporter and many users are happy with it.
But, your best bet would be to try it out yourself, hyperion i.e. is also pretty good sense 3.0 or lbc_mod if you like 2.1 better.
Last but not last coredroid also got many users.

Wow thanks for quick replys sounds like endy is the one to go for then. One other thing that has always bothered me with miui, is camera quality better with sense roms I always thought it got slightly worse when I changed to miui. It might just be me

I too recommend Endymion.

Everything will always be better with sense, which for me is extremely disappointing as i'm not a huge fan of sense.

True, I believe that the camera app is better optimized to take advantage of the camera.

Had endymion on most of the day now and first thing that I've noticed near instantly is the screen burn is far worse than on any other Rom I've used.
This may be due to the general theme being more black on white than others, not sure but it really irritates me.

Used Endymion for a few days its good and smooth but can't stay away from miui you just can't personalize sense enough. O well got to keep trying these things that's the joy of nandroid backups.

Yeah I tried most of the early ones but went back to gb cos I'm so easily irritated by small bugs. But looking at miui v4 today and its looking good, working can and camcorder and face unlock. Still a few bugs so nandroid backup on standby.

Or is it just me? I love the inquisition rom for this exact reason. IDK, I just don't like it very much. Am I in a lone group with this? What's everyone else's take?
i wish hTC makes their phones as simple as the galaxy nexus, that's why i will flash a "senseless" ICS ROM.
I love AOSP ROMs, not de-sensed ROMs as they contain parts of sense still in them. E.g OpenSensation, nice AOSP ROM...

Sense is just a battery hog
I love sense... Probably because ive never owned an HTC before, and i really like how different it is to other android devices....
I dont think battery is that bad TBH, I can easily get 1-2 days use out of it....
Is there an HTC that doesnt come with sense (except windows phones) ??? If not why buy the HTC if you dont like sense ??
if you dont like sense you could install the aosp roms or install a third party launcher

But then what would attract customers to buy a HTC device instead of a Galaxy Nexus?
OEM's can't compete on hardware differentiation alone IMO.

That won't change the horrible Sense apps. Yes, you could root your phone install an AOSP rom, but you shouldn't have to do that to make your phone work like it's supposed it.
HTC/other OEMS should just give an option to de-sense the phone somehow. If I had a pure-Google experience I wouldn't even need to root my phone.
Again why buy HTC then. The hardware specs are available in many other phones. IMHO.

Not many other phones have 1.5GHz stock, only on the XE. And the build quality is better, so is Android Development etc.

i bought it because of the qhd screen, also i like my devices to have some weight and feel sturdy something which other manufactures seem to not understand how to do
I like sense ...its gives the brand of HTC...I prefer look/feel and performance both so HTC with custom roms is perfect for me
Coming from iphone4 I used to have cheap opinion of android (yeah I know I'm little over my head when I had iPhone4) but once I got this little beast on my hands I'm baffled (the rich looking HTC sense and powerful beast inside)
I'm more than amazed ..may be I'm liking sense coz this is my first android phone but right now I feel like sense is a must for a HTC phone....when others look at my phone they'll just know its HTC
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA
Normally I'd take AOSP over Sense any day, but these AOSP ROMs always have some large turnoff that I don't want to mess with. I've been pretty fine with Sense 4.0 though.
