I did the official Froyo Update this morning. My phone is 100% stock never flashed any custom roms.
Now when I receive new exchange emails the notification Icon that appears is the Voice mail notification icon. Is it suppose to be like this in Froyo, or did something not install properly?
Is nobody else having this problem?
some setup as you and i noticed that too. the email and voicemail icons swapped colors. i think that is how it is.
same problem here
I have the same config than yours and this is one of the only diff. with 2.1...Not a big deal
Thank you for the confirmation was just making something wasn't screwed up

The problem started today when I received a text. I use handcent as my default SMS app, so I was surprised to see a grey text notification in my notification bar right next to the handcent notification.
I've had notifications and all other options turned off in the stock messaging app as well, so I don't believe that's where the problem is.
I'm running cyanogen 7 build #9 and have the minimalist theme in place if that matters.
Im having the same issue all of a sudden and I'm in the stock rom! I have all of the notifications off on the stock rom and it still pops up a notification and sound when i get a text! I'm using handcent too! Also my stock app is now not showing contact pictures anymore either. I just want to get rid of it and use handcent

Back in the days of Blackberries and normal cell phones it was possible to see if and when a text message was delivered. I know my thunderbolt can do this if I set it in the SMS options but is it possible to do it without putting the notification in the status bar every time? Is there some way to mod it maybe?

Just received the latest update today on stock TB. Seems to run ok (so far), but the persistent voice mail icon and notification problem is back. This was a problem prior to last update. The icon and notification displays that you have a voice mail even though you don't and no way to get rid of them that I know of. Kind of a downer. Anyone else seeing this?
This is the only problem I've seen so far.
Haven't had that issue yet. Ringtones work and notifications volume are fixed.
Edit: Called myself and left voice mail. Went to notifications pull down and called voice mail there by pressing on the voice mail notification. After hanging up voice mail notification icon was gone from status bar only missed call icon remained. Pressed on missed call and that icon in the status bar was gone. Seems to work for me I don't know how you went about getting your voice mail but this method worked for me. I even used the 86,xxxx to put in my password and that worked.
The lingering voice mail icon in notification area and message magically corrected itself after first incoming call with voice mail. No other problems...so far. Great phone!
fwiw...
Also ordered a Rezound battery from Verizon (on sale $19), which fits the Tbolt, for a few more milliamp hrs.
I am using Nexus rom Build 2 Rev 12, and also installed the AOSP look for the sms and other misc items. Now what I am curious about is the same before and after installing the AOSP mod. What is happening is when I recieve a txt message I hear the notification so I know I have a message but it doesn't give me a visual indicator that I have a new txt message. So if I was in the other room and came back to my phone and just looked at it I would have no idea I missed a txt message unless I actually go and look. On the leaked ICS or stock as you will it would put a number on the message icon but now it doesn't have that. Is this something that would have been removed in this specific rom or is it a bug? Is there something I can do to get it back or do I just need to switch roms? I am on call on the weekends for work and I have to be able to know if I receive txt messages so this is kinda a big deal for me.
Thanks

Worst case get Apex Pro launcher and enable SMS unread count. I use it anyways cause its just a nice feature
I guess I am missing the SMS unread count setting, where is it at in the Apex Pro Launcher settings?

Apex Settings -> Advanced
Missed Call Count, Unread SMS Count, Unread Gmail Count
Edit: Missed call count you need to upgrade to the beta version, which has been perfectly stable for me, which you can upgrade to under About Apex Launcher Pro
yea I didn't have the beta so I didn't have the options but now I do thanks for the heads up.
Using stock email app with hotmail email address I have this weird notification bug. When an email comes in I get the notification icon and then pull the dropdown and select the email to read it. As soon as I am done selecting it and while the email is opening I get a second notification of that same email.
Not sure if this happened on 4.4 but I have been noticing it ever since the first update but don't recall if it happpened prior to that.
And it only happens if the notification has been there for a little while before I select it, if I happen to be using the phone and an email comes it and I select it right away it does not double notify me.
Anyone else seeing anything like this?
Stock rooted 4.4.2
