Seems generic as hell, I know. Fyi: The icon looks like a pc tower with a pie chart in front of it.

thats stock in samsung 2.2

LOL. Its androids 2.2 native task manager. I only laugh because I thought the same thing when the first froyo leak dropped way back. Generic looking is the perfect way to describe it.

Hah! That explains why I froze in recovery after trying to wipe it with tibu. When it refused to run along I kinda figured it was native

Moved to Q&A.
I can't help you much except I can confirm there's an app capable of this, I was looking into it for my phone at one point. Keep looking and you'll find it, wish I could help more but I can't recall what it was called.
never used it and cannot confirm it works for xoom but google found me this:
(ok, appears i'm not able to send links because i dont have enough posts)
google for "android remote camera app" and its the first result

Download Unsuccessful in web browser

Anytime I try to download any type of file through the stock browser on my G2x I get <download unsuccessful> anyone have any idea why? I didn't think anything of it until now when I just realized that it happens every single time.

I have the same issue. It doesn't happen every time, but certainly happens a lot. I have no idea what to do about it.

It's pissing me off

you need something like astro file manager. in the settings is an option to enable downloading zip files. there are probably alternatives in the market besides this as well.
Thanks! That works. I've never had to do that on any other Android phone I've used.

Search for a pgm called "download all files" in the market. Worked wonders for me.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
If you're still having issues, try download crutch. No idea why it was taken off the market, but it's always worked for me.

Thanks everyone. Everything that you all said to try works. I appreciate it.

Sometimes it just takes a while to update to the new market.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
When I reflashed mine yesterday, it showed the "old" market.. and even trying AppBrain to bring some of my apps down, NHL Game Center Live wasn't found in Market at first, even though NHL Game Center FREE and Premium were...
after a couple reboots, and about 30 min Market upgraded itself, and after a little while longer, NHL Game Center Live was found and I was able to install it.
Ya sometimes it does take a while. Just make sure you don't have market updater frozen.
how do you know if it is frozen?

Task Manager

How can I get the stock task manager back? I'm using VB final

Here is a guide how to push the .apk:

Here is where you can find the .apk to push:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22603128&postcount=3
This is a topic that has been thoroughly discussed and you could have found the answer to if you looked.
dude, you can be simple.
Just find some JobManager.apk and push it to /system/app from any KJ6 build.
Since raver removed support from the framework though, I would suggest you push an older framework-res.apk as well. This will allow you to hold the home button and in recent apps, you will be able to hit "Task Manager". Otherwise you will always have to go to your launcher to open it.
@airfluip1: I linked him the .apk and directions.
Cool, thanks guys. I looked for a thread like this but didn't find anything and the search gave me random topics lol. Anyways thanks again

You should use swiftkey. If you don't mind touch typing it's the best keyboard out there.

You know, I use SwiftKey and I recommend it, though I kinda missed swype so I dled it (I'm already registered at their website) but after installing all I get is force closes. I guess VB final is really that different from official roms.

I'm using Swype beta, haven't had one problem with it.

If you don't want a particular app then don't install it. There's probably no way to block installation of a given app.

What he said. Is there a particular reason you want to block the installation of Facebook?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Though if you had a vendetta (and a rooted phone), you could always just put a Facebook catch-all into your hosts file to black-hole attempts to reach them. Wouldn't stop the app, would stop it from ever actually working and any website connecting there.
I think you would need to sign up for a MDM service. There a few of them out there and they should be able to either block apps from being installed or automatically uninstall it if it gets installed.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Haha sorry I was just kidding but also wondering. Yeah I know how to install apps or not. I was thinking of an app that you can download and then when you did want to download facebook it wouldn't let you. Its really just a joke brotherhood. I don't have a Facebook problem but I see one developing lol.
