[Q] How to restore HTC HD2 W6.5 keyboard default - General Questions and Answers

So I installed one of the keyboards which I found on this site, the link to which keyboard I downloaded can be found at this link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742445
I decided to uninstall because it was playing up, now when I uninstall-ed the keyboard and returned to the normal HD2 one, I noticed that the keyboard color has changed to grey with white buttons ( words and symbols are white ) which is annoying me because I can barely see the letters and symbols, is there a way to get the old original keyboard back with black letters?, without having to do a system reset where I have to delete everything, that method I do not prefer...
Any suggestion or guidance.
Tons of thanks in advance

DA Mobile 6 Release 5 RC1 - what happened to the keypad for text messaging

Hi Guys,
I've just upgraded to DA Mobile 6 Release 5 RC1 rom and its working great, but only one minor problem.
ON the last WM5 rom, I could use the on screen keypad to type out a text message, rather than the qwerty on screen or the pad ( i had grown rather used to it).
I cant see the option for using the keypad input anywhere at all in any of the menus.
IS this feature not including in the rom, or am I just being dumb and missing it?
Regards
Goldfish
r u referring to XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 RC1?
your question is kind of jumbled. are you trying to use the on screen keyboard or the hardware keyboard on your device?

Try this out. Touch KeyPad/KeyBoard(Freeware)
ahhh, i get the ? now.
another one is the pocket keyboard, www.pocketcm.com
what i don't understand on both the one werd suggested and pocketkb is why they didn't put a period (.) on the main keyboard instead of having to go somewhere else, it's a hassle when using it to type a web address.
edit: actually just noticed on pocketcm website you are able to configure the keyboard layout, maybe it can be changed to add a period...anywho i don't use either, my fingers are too big lol
thanks for replying guys, sorry my message was a bit garbled.
I tried the touch keypad, but still cannot get the alpha numberical keypad
just like the one in the image under title Touch keyboard v1.0 Description
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-touch-keyboard-v1-0.html
Turn off one touch symbol presses in options. then create a new text message
tried that, didnt make a difference.
After installing touch keyboard, i get the same keyboard lay out on screen, no matter if i pick keypad or keyboard.
beginning to think that the rom may have got corrupted and needs re flashed
you have to be in a spot where you can enter text or else it shows the default keyboard man, that's why i said create a new text message. just read the comments on that page i linked if you have to
I turned off auto substitution and that seemed to fix it.
guys your all great, thanks for the help

Try either of these. I think they will give you what you are looking for... T9 Keypad SIP. The first is English only. The second has lots of international languages.

How to remove arrows on the keyboard?

I'm not sure if this has been discussed or solved before... Anyway, I've tried searching and I couldn't find any guide on how to remove the arrows on our keyboard.
If you have done so, kindly post the guide on how to do this...
thanks in advance...
i like the arrows(incase of mistakes or wanting to add something somwhere) but if it would free up some space to have bigger keys that wouldnt be to bad
I would actually like this as well if somehow the keys were to get larger or more spaced out.
me too..
i hate the htc sens / keyboard even with sens.cab...
i have tried every other keyboard beside of swype - no german.cab... -
and all are even worse than the htc keyboard.

[Q] Get the Gingerbread keypad back

Hi there,
I am new to Android, I have to say I am still not 100% happy with it, I am not satisfied with some features like calls log, sms app and particulary the HTC keypad.
The Android 2.3.3 default keypad looks far better, is there a way to put it back on the Desire S ?
I know other keypads are available on the market, I think I'll go to get rid of the HTC soft, so I my Desire S would look like a Nexus S...
Dunno if it's even possible, and I saw a lot of discussions about S-OFF or S-ON, so I checked on my phone but it's S-ON :/
Thanks for reading
Yes, very easy !
Donwnload the app "Gingerbreag keyboard" in the Market and select it like your keyboard in settings. DONE !
Thank you I'll check it shortly

Well what did you make of it, do you prefer it over the Sense keyboard ? Any screen shots ?
I don't use my Desire S yet, because I don't like the sense menus, like contacts or call manager (this is still a phone afterall)...
I tried to install some alternate solutions but the sense is deeply integrated and you can't get rid of it, adding other tools just slow down the performances.
I am french, and the thing that disturb me the most in the sense keyboard is that the "m" letter is located just near the "n" letter, like on qwerty keyboard, whereas it is should be located next to the "l" letter on azerty keyboards.
So I am now waiting for the S-OFFing tool to be avaible so I can get back to a naked rom.
Install the MultiLing keyboard (market) and you can have a French keyboard layout

Lookong for a round bordered letter keyboard for android

I have tried to goole the past week and i cant find what im looking for.........i recently tried a custom rom,,,,and it had round buttons for each letter on a keyboard (instead of square one the stock google keyboard and apparently all other custom ones have)......
I dont remember whats the name of the rom....thats the problem.....aannnd i am now on cm12.1.....i really want that keyboard,,as i feel it is more efficient in reducing typos for me.......

Changing emojis on number keypad?

Hi all!
Just wondering I anyone can tell me how to (if it's even possible) change which emojis appear along the top of the numbers and symbols on the keypad (when you press 12# when texting)?
Thank you!!

If you're using the HTC TouchPal keyboard, I'd recommend you go to Play Store and get the Google GBoard virtual keyboard.
You can switch between the two and test, and I'll bet a cold beer that you will like emojis, gifs, and other great goodies that come with using this keyboard.
