Full HDMI development progress thread. - EVO 4G Android Development

Hello all,
I just wanted to create a thread to help track the development progress of this amazing app. Currently the app is in beta and in my opinion it is basically flawless.
FYI - I'm not the dev just a tester.
Per the developer (Orrebmas) this app should be availiable for public consumption in about two weeks.
* Full HDMI is being updated about three times per week and just lost the alpha tag.
* The current version of Full HDMI requires a modified kernel to allow maximum FPS.
* Full HDMI offers full screen mirroring for TV's and monitors.
* I haven't found any apps that aren't compatible.
* Sling box via HDMI is simply amazing!!
* At this moment it's only compatible with Sense ROM's / AOSP compatibility is on the short list.
* FYI pirated HDMI apk will NOT function.
If you would like to see this amazing app running on my 32" Vizio please check the video below. Note: the slight screen flicker you may notice is my crappy camera not the app. Enjoy!

I wouldn't mind using a sense rom to try hdmi mirroring feature. Thanks for sharing, op.

I don't understand why pirated all's wouldn't work? And by pirated do mean just any paid app like doodle jump and something that some one actually hacked like mixzing. Which requires proof of pay(I don't even know if this is possible)
A drop of Chuck Norris's semen was placed on the IPhone. We now have the Htc Evo.

Can wait for this!

Absolutely incredible.

I've been back and forth between Sense and AOSP. On CM7 right now, but would happily switch back for this! dealbreaker.

Sorry let me clarify. The pirated full hdmi app would not work because it requires authentication from the dev while in beta.

um there already "live" widgets. every widget is inherently live, otherwise its just an icon. what specifically are you looking for
how about some live app shortcuts... to use with Desktop Visualizer etc.
they could move around in different directions and such
imagine a blue wallpaper and icons shaped like clouds that are around your screen
adam might be on to something haha
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
but what I was sayin tho my widgets don't move they just sit on the screen that gets old after a while I already got moving walpapers the widgets should do some moving too like for the messages widgets the mail icon u just see a little blue picture and lines the lines should be letters...it should look like I'm typing something

I checked out that tathome stuff.....and while it is ridiculously sick....its been in the works for just about a year now. I saw this work of genius seven months or so ago, and its still not out with any word of where its progress is at or perhaps a release date. This would keep me from switching to WP7 by the end of the year....but as of now the UI android has is not as smooth as it sooo could be, as everyone can plainly see in the demo video of tathome.
If anyone has any word on this, I'm quite sure it would be much appreciated by alot of people.
if you build it...they will come...
agreed, tathome looked sick... S E V E N months ago. sad its not released yet, i signed up for beta and STILL no word...not that i care a whole lot, but it did look smooth.
however, the switching back to a winmo device from evo is a bit harsh. i would rather be beaten to death by kimbo slice with a g1 before doing such a thing...

Honestly, the Sense versions aren't that different. Main difference= Lockscreen which you can download from market as Agile Lock and also the carousel. I would like Sense 3.0, but it is exciting that they have 2.1 nevertheless.
Sense 3.0 lockscreen anybody....
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Agile lock cannot compare at all to the sense 3.0 lockscreen. The real sense 3.0 lockscreen has many integrated features like notification popups and a very nice music player in the normal one, and seperate ones for weather and facebook integration. Its the main reason I want sense on my epic. Also thanks to the developer, making me have good hopes for my phone. Not regretting picking the epic over the evo now. Hopefully in a few months we can have a fully working rom.
Yeah, this ROM looks pretty promising, I cant wait till all the bugs and kinks get worked out, sense on the epic would be pretty swell!!

WebOS on Droid Charge

With the announcement of webOS moving to a open source platform, am I the only one wishing for a port of webOS to the Charges' hardware? Sure its not the most powerful phone or neither does it have the strongest developer base, but I'm still hoping for it one day. This is coming from a person who had a Palm Pre Plus prior to my D'Charge, so therefore I'm very familiar with the way webOS works and I still today miss it the fluidity of the platform. So let me know, am I alone?
In theory, I suppose it could be done, as WebOS is also Linux based. However, it would take a LOT of work-I think the time put into such a project would not equal the number of people who would want to use it.

In all honesty I would like to see ICS before I would like to see WebOS, but I feel like these ports would be coming from different teams. From one corner their will be developers working to get ICS to all non-nexus devices and in the other corner their will be people working to get WebOS on android devices and once its done here it will be picked up by other developers and tweaked to work on the particular device they're developing for.

I'm pretty sure the only things not working are bluetooth, the youtube app, the radios, the camera (which i haven't seen working in nearly every other ICS ROM for every other phone), and the home button (which doesn't matter much because you can just use the back button).
I know that EGL (hardware acceleration) is working, wifi is working, the screen, sdcard, all google apps and basically every thing else you can think of.
It is really great how much is working, especially considering that this is a first build. Thanks JT!
JT IS NOT YOUR PERSONAL BABYSITTER SO DON'T GO WHINING TO HIM WHEN YOU FIND AN ISSUE, OR THE ROM CAUSES A NUCLEAR WAR (which it might because of how amazing it is).

The updater script in the zip will convert you to ext4 automatically. I'm very excited for this ROM--I tried it out last night and although I won't be staying on it until cell connectivity is working, it's very nice of JT to have put this initial version together for us.
would anything happen if you flash the ep4d's radios? or is the RIL the code that makes those radio files work?

my guess would be that given ICS is a whole new iteration of android (its own kernel, skin, modems, etc.) I don't think it'll work... I personally wouldn't try it I'd just wait till they sort the RIL out

First of all I want to thank every single one of you that has supported the Charge. I really hope that we get to see a stable and working ICS soon. I have supported the devs that I have stayed with on this phone and will continue to support others who I choose to follow. Always remember that we NEVER start with a stable release. We fall down so we can learn how to pick ourselves up. Being that said, I say keep kicking @$$ at developing on phones that manufacturers give up on in the beginning. I don't know about you but 90% of us use our phones for at least a year or better because of the contracts. Donations will continue if you keep on developing on this ICS build. THANK YOU!!!
Let me know if you need anything and I will do what I can to help.

CM9 for inspire

I am currently working on porting CM9 to the phone. Once I get back from my trip I'll post the work I have so far. I really don't want to work on it much longer. I don't own an inspire its my sisters, and I have the photon and epic 4g touch I spend most my time on. Everything works "ok" there are some issues that I'm sure some of u wonderful devs can figure out camera works but lags a little, and sometimes touch won't work after waking from deep sleep. Its mostly getting the right cwm to work with it and a kernel to play well. I'm guessing once we get a cwm made to flash it properly then the rest of the issues will be a cake walk. I've noticed on several other devices the devs had to develop a special cwm specifically for their build of CM9 I know nothing about doing that sorta thing (yet) but um yea... just thought I would let you guys know.

Should I keep it stock cm9 or should I make this mod default? Even as default you will still have the option in settings to keep standard layout. This mod just gives you even more customization of the notification bar that does not come with cm9 (yet)

I'm a fan of more customization options. So the more the better.

Lol ok. I also have some semi-bad news. I was doing all my work on my secondary computer which was raided between 4 drives and on of the drives had a slight hickup which caused my computer to crash. My brother in law thought he could fix it while I was gone and in the process he wiped everything instead of trying to save the data on the drives. So I lost all my work current work on cm9. But do not fear. Luckily I did a backup of my progress a little after I started so now I just need to apply the fixes I had done before I left. I know what works and what didn't work so that will save me some trial and error time

Oh and I got the camcorder working by combining the driver from the desire HD with the driver from my photon (which technically is the atrix driver)... I was just goofing around, didn't think it was going to work but it did. I was able to record a video in VGA mode but when set to 720p it FC'ed with stock camera. Kinda odd cuz I couldn't get it to do anything with just the source from the dhd but take pictures.
Later I'll look around for other HTC devices with a similar camera that has working ics camera drivers. And compare. See what they have done to alter their drivers for ics

Wish I had the know how to build these roms. Sounds like a lot of fun..... I guess I'm that kind of nerd that like working out issues and fixing things. Hopefully one day ill be skilled enought to contribute more than themes. Thanks for all your hard work tho we appreciate the time your taking to port over some tasty ics for us.

Check out android kitchen. It mainly supports HTC devices and the inspire is on its list. Its the easiest way to build your own rom. Try it out. Its a good place to start

Count me in for testing!
........cant ....wait ......any ......longer!
Will be elated to test.....
Has the music app been fixed for future releases?
in the 7.2 release the music app does not recognize albums with multiple artists.
can we expect it to be fixed in cm9?

Thanks for pointing that out. That's one thing I had not tested till just now. And yea its working just fine. Also cm9 and cm7 have completely different source files
Btw here's an update:
Honestly I had not touched this sense the last time I said anything on this forum. I just got an Atrix 2 and they don't even have a working android 4.0 anything. So I have been working really hard to get that off the ground. I'm sorry its taking so long to get this rom to your phone but considering you guys already having near perfect running 4.0 rom this build isn't as high on my priority list but the good news is as soon as we get cm9 going for the Atrix 2 I will give that phone a break to have this build up and going for you. Figure a few more days with the inspire cm9 then I'll have it up
