Viewsonic G vs. Enspert Identity Tab? - G Tablet General

I just got an email from an outfit called Latte introducing their new 7" tablet. I know it is smaller than the G Tab, but the price range is similar ($399.99, on sale for $349.99)
I own a small Latte mp3/mpeg player and it works very well. I'll be curious to see what their tab is like.
http://www.lattezone.com/enspert-e2201.html

I would go with the G Tab again for because of the price vs. performance.

There is a lot more (Video/Audio Payback), but I would say not to get either if money is not an option and you can wait. If you can't I would definitely go with G Tablet, because it have better hardware specs overall and is only $50 more. It also has a strong community and development force behind it. Plus we have been fooling around with adding additional ram/flash memory and a gps/3g modules.
The only gripe that I have with the Gtab is the screens viewing angles. However, I fixed it when I swapped the display with this: LG LP101WH1-TLB1.

How difficult was it to do? Do you happen to have any pictures of the resulting mod? Thanks.

I am more than willing to take some pictures/video of it. However I am not at home and wont be for the next week or so. So I can not get a hold of my video and or still camera. All I have is my moto droid which isn't the best for either.
Here's what I did anyway:
1. Using a whole round file, I filed the screw wholes long ways (inwards) to allow the screw wholes to line up with the other wholes
2. I tried out longer screws, as they were not catching in the wholes.

Pics or it didn't happen... the main problem with that exact screen wasn't the need for longer screw holes, but the fact that the screen doesn't even fit into the dimensions of the tablets frame.
Even bad pics would be better than none at all.

I'm trying to figure the benefit of him lying about a screen and why he's obligated to provide anyone with pics to prove he changed his screen.

If it was me i would be so excited that I would post a thread about it and have a tutorial and or pictures. Its a big accomplishments that Noone has figured out yet. I hope he really did. I would love to try a new screen.

No I wasn't able to. I am in the midst of trying to figure out how to change the resolution. Right now it is still at 1024 x 600.

I'm not saying that anyone has done it successfully, but there is a spot on the motherboard where a GPS module can be soldered onto.

Just curious if you'd be interested in writing a step by step guide for the screen replacement? Some others in the forums have apparently tried the same screen without the success you've had. Thanks.

Viewsonic Tegra2 Dual Core 1GHz G-Tablet $379 at Sears

The Viewsonic 10 inch "G-Tablet" discussed in the link below ($349 from Sears) has the Nividia dual core 1ghz Tegra 2 processor. It sounds like it has pretty decent hardware but lacking in software due to not being an official Google product and having a poor performing UI.
http://androidandme.com/2010/11/tabl...sears-for-379/
Viewsonic G-Tablet specs include:
NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual ARM cortex (1Ghz)
Capacitive Multi-Touch/Multi Tasking panel
10.1” 1024 X 600 TFI LCD Screen
512 MB RAM, Mass Memory 16 GB
Mini USB x 1; Full size USB x 1
1.3MP Front –Facing Webcam
Earphone x 1
Micro SD card slot
2 x 1 W speaker
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
G sensor/Light sensor
Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
3500mAh/7.4V Li-polymer Battery Life 8-10 Hours
Slim design (267 x 173 x 14.3mm) Wt. 820 Grams
Buttons: Home/Back/Menu/Volume/Power
OS / Android 2.2
Headphone Jack
Built in Microphone
"Original information out of Viewsonic said this device would cost over $500, but Sears is selling a WiFi-only version that lacks the sim-card slot of the more expensive model. Some overseas models were also reported to include 1 GB of RAM, but the Sears unit is shipping with 512 MB RAM."
"The good news is that this tablet comes with Android 2.2, but that might be there the fun ends. This tablet was not certified by Google so it lacks all the Google Mobile Services including the official Android Market. Thankfully you can still sideload apps and alternative markets like SlideME."
You can buy the "G-tablet" here: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...1&blockType=G1 Use the zoom feature on the picture to get a really good close up of the device buttons and LEDs etc. I like the clean and simple look. Three buttons is nice too and the Wifi only will work perfectly with a tethering Nexus One. At $380 it is ~$120 cheaper than the equivalent iPad.
I think this would be a good candidate for dev support to take advantage of the hardware to root and optimize for 10" display. If developers are interested in rocking this device I am definitely picking one up.
Do you think developers would work with this device?

Build your perfect phone

What would be your ideal phone? The most important features

Mine:

Design like Nexus or Moto X
Shockproof - no need for covers
Excellent battery
Excellent Camera
OK Cpu
OK Memory
(don't want to play games or watch video, mostly using it for seeking information, photographing, messaging and social networking)
Wishing for a Lg G2 Mini

Battery and call reception. What else could you really need out of a phone? ;p
Excellent battery and energy efficiency. Everything else is already pretty good in current phones.
Honestly for me it would be, if the phone is recent or not and if it lag or not! also the RAM and how much GB the phone have
A battery that lasts a weak, like in the old Nokia days. :highfive:
A phone like Moto G Google Play Edition, only with a better processor, largest RAM and huge battery. I think it can be considered as perfect…

ROM/Recovery/Root for Samsung Galaxy J1 4G J100mu needed.

Alrighty then..... I have quite literally been looking for a custom solution to my problem for over a year now. Got a used T-Mobile phone a couple years ago and was told it was unlocked when bought. Long story short it wasn't and so ended up with a paper weight that sat in a drawer for most of the time since. Over the last few months I've been messing about with it some and put various emulators, games (both old console games and Android), plus some small utilities that I can use for various activities. Now I am finding that the speed of the CPU/GPU and older Android ver. is making things difficult to get working and I also notice a great deal more lag and stuttering then I did when I first started using it. I've disabled and uninstalled what i can but what it really needs is a overclock and different OS. So I could really use a rooted version of Android 5.0 Lollipop or later and as little clutter beyond the base system. I don't actually use this as a phone, more like a mini tablet so even phone function is not high on my priority list, although other who find this would probably need that. I'm going to paste the actual phone specs here as thanks to Samsungs naming conventions for their models it can be quite difficult to find. Thank you for any help or direction in case I managed to miss any other place where this is available.
