[ROM] FreshFriedToasT with a lil Damage

Ive been working for 3days trying to get this done and the first two days were completely wasted. Well last nite JsChiSurf gave me an idea that should ve hypothetically solved my problem. Well, ive been messing with it all day and its working nice. Im calling this a beta for now and putting it up because it will get fixed alot faster that way. What ever is wrong i have a feeling its not a big deal and most ppl on xda could prolly figure it out. Inside its really FreshRom,FreshToast OC kernel,and the modded files from my favorite rom, DCGv4.6. FRESH FRIED TOAST sounds like a good name. So F2T_MOD is in beta testing for anyone that wants to check it out. THIS IS A BETA. I need help testing.
WHY SHOULD I FLASH THIS?
EVERYTHING YOU GOT WITH DAMAGER_DCGv4.6 PLUS.....
Themed android/swype hybrid kb(themed blue)
Themed launcher and launcher2(by me)
Themed mainnav scroller(by me)
OC kernel
OC widget included
Total=4 launchers
Total=3 dialers
All LWPs work including nexus
Custom mainnav scroller
ISSUES
[email protected] 1st it would reboot sometimes while plugged in
-it would randomly get stuck on bootanimation
-ddms shows nothing scary so i cannot find the culprit
How i fixed it:
Kept wiping uid,data,and dalvic and rebooting and now its been working plugged in as disk since 9:30am so w/e i did im sure anyone can figure out, so i put it up to get this bug ironed out quick so others can use this sweet mod.
Once i/somemone else can figure out what i did it will be a full featured, modded, 3 Rom hybrid. Everything else works great. Dont make it your daily till then, unless you fix it on accident too XD

Nothing here was incidental. I took 3days to get this to work. Should haves are for you. I made this for myself and ul'd for others to check out and debug.
That would be nice but i WASNT going that route. I already did that a month or two ago....But before theme and look comes utility and usefulness when i do this, cus these are my personal roms that i make for myself that i share.

Well i can do themes, but FIRST to me when i make a rom is giving members choices and options that are not available to us yet, like custom launchers and kbs, lwp mods, etc....or a rom with 4 custom launchers,3 dialers, 3 kbs. Surely i have never seen any other roms like this so i make it and gives ppl another choice. Im not just a themer, but in no way a dev yet either. i made these MYSELF so they will be no where else but here. I made my transformers theme a while back, and IT IS A TRANSFORMERS THEME. THIS IS NOT. Its just made by someone who likes the transformers, so obviously it may reflect in some of my work. The nav scroller was just a proof of concept. I just thought it was pretty neat so i included it . GitKid told me he missed it in my last rom, so i tried to make it awesome this time along with everything else. I can theme in my sleep(I am an art major). Im trying to do ALOT more than just theme. I dont want to have to kang other ppls work but I cannot compile yet. HOwever i have been working on that. So its like this, if darch, flipz,toast,damage were all LIVE musicians, well id be a dj making remixes of that live music, and im happy with what i have learned in this short amount of time for now, but im ALWAYS trying to learn more, anyway i can. But its obvious you never saw it so check out my OptimusRom, thats TRANSFORMERS. And ive been using that site to collect all of my 120+ fonts i use to choose from since &RoidRage linked me to that site. Transformers font is still my fave, but only for a transformers theme. There are two other transformers fonts too, but they are called various other names, you should check them out youd probably like them as well...ALSO this might seem all over but i dont think there is any other choice considering i have compiled parts from over 8 differnt roms and got them to all work together. YOU try that and get it to boot...... NOT EASY.I eat sleep and drink this $h!t, and im STILL just a noob....​

but as i mentioned i do dig ur works simply because of the multitude of options thats given, its a plus when u get tired of one thing, instead of seeking out other roms, just make ur rom do something else!

Thanks. Its funny. I got OUR lwp fix from JCASE and ZIFNAB in an an eris irc chan that jcase invited me to from an android help desk where i used to help ppls before all this.....I monitor any device that i can port things to ours from and even some i cant. I'm going to give this a shot, but I wanted to see if the LWP's are sticking after screen sleeps, and if so, does the fix impact gallery3d and other openGL type apps? (usually navigation gets fubared for example and some games and gallery lag out badly).
Just curious.

Does this Rom have kernel tun support so we can use things like openvpn and vpnc?

I have learned from some of the very best in the biz......over in the Hero forum I "ALSO" look forward to getting my EVO here soon, lol

I would like this too! I saw a picture of it on a different ROM and while I didn't feel like trying out the ROM I thought that the clear notification tray was really cool. Not 100% clear but like, faded or blurred or something. Obviously, I don't know how to do this and don't know how much work would go into it but if someone decides to do it that would be awesome.

This would be pretty sweet...

I was thinking I might lower the opacity a little more. On the hero it was almost hard to see the difference..
If you're good with it I'll leave it alone for now

I was happy with DC 3.1.2, but I can honestly say DC 3.2 is just as/more stable.

Treve fixed wifi tethering and made some improvements to Dconfig

what would be really slick would be an app or section in spare parts to manually adjust the opacity. no idea if that can be changed on the fly, but man that would be slick =]

I decided to get off my butt and start some development for the Verizon Version of the Galaxy Tablet. I have seen a major butt kicking in development when it comes to the CMDA side...lol. I am not downing what developers have developed for the Verizon CMDA side. I guess it's my turn to pick up the torch and start with a theme. I am in the process of porting over one of my favorite themes for my Verizon Fascinate called Nitro Honeycomb. I have to give credit to the designer, nitroglycerine33. ok we need to work together, i have a stable accurate battery for the vzw tab, ported fron sbrissens version for the fascinate, he has been helping on these projects, and almost stable reboot, recovery, and download added to device menu. Have figured out how to change all colors but clock, all notification icons, etc..
Hit me up in a pm and lets get this going it's time for vzw tabs to shine.

I haven't had much time to work on the theme until today...I had alot to do with that tornado clean up. I got some progress done today...Here is some pics of posted progress.

If the wife doesn't stop me it will be today. If not I will finish it up at work tomorrow. I have also considered may releasing an earlier version and putting the final touches on it. I have to say it is looking good. I have had to do a lot of the graphics in photoshop. I figured that I could port a lot of Nitro's graphics on Nitrocomb, but ran into some problems. I have to say it has been a learning experience, but after this one...I am going to start a couple other themes. I am also in the process of coding a power menu with; reboot, recovery, and download mode. Along with this I am trying to code a true honeycomb lock screen that works in landscape . The boot menu and lock screen however will not be until next week or the week after. I totally appreciate everyone's patience.

I am still working hard, but am going to take a turn for the better. I went ahead and decided to work on the boot menu. I am thinking of turning this whole project into a rom and am going to deodexed the whole rom. I wanted this to be a theme, but it looks like that I am going to make it much more. There is just so much that can be done to the VZM end of the gtab. Anywho wanted to give an update.

Well I kinda crapped out with the Tornadoes down here and what not. I was going to redo somethings, but ran into some issues. I wanted a new boot menu and ran into some problems with time management. I guess instead of getting all fancy I will try to tighten/clean up the theme and release it since it had been so long. I am sorry, but there was a lot of damage down this way and a lot of people killed . I just haven't had the time to put into what I envisioned. Instead I will try to release a theme and build upon that. I have also been following Spacemoose1's thread and he is going to release a wifi and hopefully 3g enable version of honeycomb for us CMDA folks . Unfortunately as soon as the GSM pigs got wind they started donating tabs to him, so he is actually making a dual release of honeycomb. And if you read his last post, the CMDA beta release is done. Of course he wants to release it at the same time as the GSM, so us CMDA'ers have to wait...like they don't have enough crap to choose from as it is.

[WIP] Triumph Rom

So ive decided to start deving my own bit of droidness this is a WIP rom and am building using ACS's build of the ec05 once aosp is released officially i will be switching over to that but until then I will get started here.
There has been a slight change i will be building based off of official Samsung release of the ec05 build from scratch I will be including the 6 mod lock screen as well as some other various changes which will be disclosed upon release in the changelog.
I would like to give thanks to pfftmedic for the help along the way here as well as chevycam over on droidforums as for he got me in to deving for aosp back on the og droid without him id be lost and wouldnt be doing this now.
I will be posting further as my work progresses and letting all know who are interested the updates of my success.
Slight delay - there will be a delay in the release i was shooting for this week but maybe a bit longer I dont want to just put out trash so I really want my first release to be something worthwhile and to build on.
Wanted to show all who are anticipating some of my custom work here is the def background that will be included in rom

Thank you all I had gotten in to themeing on the og droid for a minute was working on a really nice looking red white and blue patriot theme for droid but never got to finish it had everything done though far as the framework res and such just needed to go in theme all of the standard apps and keyboard but phone was done dialer etc was clean.Wish i had some screenies to show but i reformatted and didnt think to back those up since i was no longer using them but they would have come in handy now lol oh well just about done getting everything situated on the comp got the build.prop finshed up and the updater script for the rom just need to work out the framework-res and apps themeing wont be heavily themed however as I want users to be able to customize to there liking and not mine but I promise when aosp comes out it will be very nice as i already have a good foothold in modding for og droid froyo.

Not familiar with that mod but I can look into it. My main goal is to start with a minimal rom for speed and battery I've gotten all of that done just need to edit some of the framework.

been on all day have not had to charge it moderate use flashed 4 times today and batt is at 80% with a temp of a cool 69 degrees. I changed some of the build.prop to allow for longer wifi scans and also added in some other changes to help with in shifting from app to app or screen to screen seems very smooth and great on batt so far just need to edit some of the framework and will have the beta coming hopefully within this evening.

[Q] Why flash custom ROM on SK4G?

First, I am very new at rooting and customizing Android and appreciate any help understanding. Please don't take my questions wrong, the screenshots on these ROMS look amazing and I know more than a few tons of hours went into developing and testing, it really is that I am not comprehending the differences I'm finding.
Thanks to the help of the great tutorials here, my SK4G is now successfully rooted! I've been looking at ROMS now for a very long time and found I am really leaning towards Glorious Overdose v5 or neXus JB.
What I'm wondering though, is why would I go through the trouble and risk of flashing if it is essentially still running froyo? Since it's rooted, could I simply uninstall the junkware and use Holo or ADW for a similar effect and virtually no risk? Of course I do see the difference in the kernal version, but as I said I am new to this and it's just my guess that kernal is even a big difference maker.
I am very obviously missing something here, and though I am searching I'm not quite finding what it is I'm not understanding. Otherwise as the video stated when I signed up... I'm a noob...

I didn't read
Flashing a rom gives you more space / faster an more reliable
Glorious overdoes v5 is a bit buggy here an there an over all is the largest "rom" due to the aroma
I use nexus jb is slim fast reliable its really good the creator ric has made many roms each better then the last (theming wise) demkantor is really great dev only a few people here anymore an these two still make this phone amazing

Thanks for pointing out Overdose is buggy, I have that and nexus JB downloaded so perhaps I'll go with JB. Admittedly I'm a bit nervous to take that next step and flash. If I brick I have no backup phone, but it looks like the instructions here on this website are pretty clear and easy to follow. Plus, I'm a risk taker lol!

There are many reasons to flash a custom ROM, in addition to what Immortality said: you can flash one that looks and feels more like GingerBread, IceCreamSandwich, JellyBean, etc. You can pick one that isn't so bloated (although once you're rooted, you can pretty easily remove the bloat). I've tried a few, and here are my notes:
GOV33+LEAN-PERFORMANCE-RELEASE - Started out good, but over time SU stopped working, battery life degraded. Liked LauncherPro. Maybe it just needs to be reinstalled
neXus_JB_v1.2 - Colors hard to read (white on gray). Seems like too many unnecessary apps (live wallpapers, etc).
MeMoRy - Based on GOV3.3 Lean. Uses Lightning Launcher, which I didn't like at first, but it's very simple and presumably lightweight. However, the supplied Jelly Bean keyboard keeps crashing. I installed the ICS keyboard and removed the JB keyboard, and this is now the ROM I use.

Thanks for your insight, very much appreciate it. I did see that GB post, looks really interesting. Once someone determines if it's actually upside down as in his pic or not I may just go with that one. Unless it really is upside down, that would seriously drive me nuts!

Should be fix-able but yes if you look at the track pad an the screen the settings is upside down an in chinese japanese

Sweet, definitely keeping my eyes open on that thread because I know for certain I cannot fix it! I haven't even had the guts to flash a new ROM yet or even delete bloatware, only froze it so far...

i like both gov2 and nexus jb.
both of them smooth like a charm

But I still wouldn't use it if this is your only phone. Keyboard does not work so you are stranded with a virtual keyboard. Battery life does not seem to be all that great. No buttons work on the actual phone except the power button, trackpad button, and the volume down button. The gyroscope does not work and I have not even set up my SIM on this so I don't know how it works with actual use.
