Android Market v.2.3.2
Android Market v.2.3.2
Requirements: Android OS
Overview: Android Market is an online software store developed by Google for Android devices. An application program ("app") called "Market" is preinstalled on most Android devices and allows users to browse and download apps published by third-party developers, hosted on Android Market. The website, rather than the Market app itself, provides details of some of the available apps, in particular those that are termed "Featured", "Top Paid" and "Top Free".

My Nexus One with CM7 Nightlies receive this update.
The font in the description is smaller than before
The font has changed and performance has improved. It loads a lot faster and doesn't lag like before. It has improved on my phone. Can't speak for others.

I tried to flash the 2.3.2 ZIP via recovery and when I rebooted, I had NO MARKET on my phone at all. I then used TB to re-install 2.2.11 but now I get a force-close everytime I try to open the market.
any ideas?

Try to install the apk. Probably didn't need to flash it. Did you clear the data and cache for the market?

Doesn't work on my Samsung Mesmerize running 2.2, parse error.

Specs in sig for EVO, getting parse error.
Try clearing market cache then do a force stop and it should push to your device in just a couple of minutes.

i tired that but no luck. Still says Parse error.
"Parse error" here too. Running stock 2.2.2 frg83g on my N1.
adb install says INSTALL_FAILED_OLDER_SDK
This apk must be for gingerbread. Hence the 2.3 major/minor version
So I got the update yesterday, the only changes I notice is that the description font size got smaller and it loads faster than before. I have an Incredible not rooted 2.2
Parse error.

I am currently running CM6 on my Dream and started having issues with installing applications today. Suddenly they no longer install and I am faced with the message in this thread's title. I've ran fix_permissions and fix_UID off my recovery but still can't seem to get it resolved. Any ideas?

only time that happens for me is when i customise an apk, lets say v1.1, and try installing update v1.2 from the market.
I then have to manually uninstall old version then install update.
did that work?
Unfortunately, it didn't. But tonight I'm just going to wipe and revert back to CM5... Its a lot more smooth and the ext partitioning for apps seems to work better also...

After I upgraded to 2.3.3 I restored my apps but they aren't showing up under the "my apps" section in the android market. Is anyone else getting this?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
They shouldn't. If you have the paid version do a market doctor and through rom manager do a fix permissions. Do the permissions either way.

This may be due to the new build fingerprint not being set up as "official" for the market - as a result "protected" apps won't appear.
Hello everyone!
Here's my problem: my motorola defy is running CM 7.1.0 and up to wednesday i had no problems at all... now the android market is not working anymore and i dont know why... when i try to download or update any app it stops and a message pops up saying an error occurred with the market process...
I tried downgrading the market apk, wiping data and cache and even reinstalling the market itself and the whole gapps package... none of them worked and honestly i dont know what else to try... i'd rather avoid an hard reset but i'm starting to think it's the only option left...
Please, help me!
If there is any info i forgot to give tell me and i'll try to complete the description...
Thank you for helping!

Have you tried using the old market (by uninstalling the updates)?
Yes...
I downgraded it and i even tried installing the old market directly from the apk...

you can search xda.I think i saw somewhere a new market version (3.?)give it a shot
I have the new version of Market on the desire Z, its rooted and had CM7 on it, but since the update to 3.x it´s so slow....it take some times 5-10 minutes to download a app...is there any possibility to make the new market faster...because compared to the old one it was always laggier and slower, on my phone with every rom....
I tried 3.3, 3.5 and 3.6... none of them works...

Yes, that's what I meant.
I keep having issues with android market. I was previously running Infinity rom with PBJ kernel and was having the problem. When ever i used an app that was from the market (aka all of them) it would work then freeze giving me the error popup. the market has unexpectedly stopped. As well as giving me the same popup error when i just try to click on the market. I figured it i went to a new rom the problem might fix its self. I loaded the Tweakstock 1.4 with PBJ and as soon as it booted up i started getting the same error.
Anyone have any ideas to help?
Clear your market caches, fix permissions, or install a fresh market apk.

I cleared the cache and installed the apk with no avail. Still giving me the error
"The Application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
The only way i can get it to work is to go back to the old old version.
Any ideas on that?
I just flashed tweakstock and only 5 apps are showing up in my installed apps. I have restored over 100 apps with tb but they wont show up in my apps on the market.

This happens to me - I just go into Manage Applications and clear data for the Market app. When I go back into it - all is well again.
Ya,just did that and its working. Thanks for the tip.

I'm getting an error message that my version of AdFree is "too old" and I need to update to a newer version. The only problem is I'm running the latest version! I've uninstalled and reinstalled and I get the same error message on all three of my rooted galaxy devices! Anyone else notice this? Thanks!
I'm having the same trouble on my nexus 7...

I, too am getting this message on my evo 3d running d3rp Rom.
Edit found the fix by searching for version 8.45

I had the same problem!
I solved it by deleting AdFree, changing the date to somewhere in 2009, downloading AdFree again from the store and restoring the date correctly!

Thanks for this solution. Evidently the developer removed the software from the Play store and to their own site. You can install it from www.bigtincan.com/adfree, or search in the cloud for the 8.45 APK. Thanks everyone who responded!
Or you can just search for the new name on playstore. Adfree Android is the new name. I found that by reading.
Or use AdAway a much better app.
