As far as I'm understanding the OP, the question seems more about a simpler method where no PC is involved like on other phones.

[Q] Flashing Sensation xl Roms on inspire

i have heard that sensation xl and desire hd/inspire 4g had the same hardware so i wanted to know that if i download and flash a sensation xl rom on my inspire will it work ?? if anyone tried please tell Thanks

short answer: No
Long answer: No, it has to be ported to it. there are similarities but that's it. Direct flashing of a sensation rom on your inspire is just a fail to boot. Needs a different kernel for it.

Ports are available for it. Try the energy 3.5 sense based ROMS. they are sensation xl ports!

[Q] Stock Inspire 4G AT&T to stock Desire HD. Can it be done?

Hey guys, I'm a newbie on android phones. I just got an HTC Inspire 4G from AT&T and I want to unbrand it. I've been reading the forum and I have noticed that the Inspire 4G is the same phone as the Desire HD. Is it possible to switch the stock ROM from my Inspire 4G to the Desire HD stock rom? Will this unbrand my phone too?
My Phone:
HTC INSPIRE 4G AT&T
Andriod 2.3.3
HTC Sense V2.1
Base band 12.56.60.25u_26.10.04.03-m

Just get an inspire based stock ROM with bloat ware removed. what branding are you taking about? The att logo stuff is removed from pretty much every ROM here

The only way to unbrand the cell is to rooted and remove the bloatware or install a custom rom. Don't try to install a Rom that is not for your cell unless it is specified it will work, otherwise you will get stuck...

[Q] Inspire 4g of Desire HD

I bought HTC Inspire 4G phone, but the software recognized it as Desire HD even on the market so i'm not sure if i want to add launcher where to look , Inspire 4g or Desire HD ?
please any explanation !

the inspire is basically the north american version of the desire hd... most of the custom roms available for one will work for the other.
have you flashed a custom rom, or are you on stock still?
either way its nothing to worry about, your phone will work just fine.

If you are using the stock rom and about phone information says it is desire, then you have a desire. Many custom roms are made to be used for both phones bit does not detect the inspire unless you flash inspiremod....and not all roms from one phone will work on the other. Make sure that if you flash a custom Rom it is compatible with your phone. Otherwise you might get stuck.

If you have an inspire, then definitely the inspire guide. Read a lot and be prepared, if you get stuck Google it or pm someone. Have fun :thumbup:

Use the Hack Kit....don't use any other method....It works for both DHD and Inspire and if you follow all instructions you will be s-off and rooted in less than 5 minutes.

Yes you can. They're all pretty much the same hardware wise. The 4g is slightly different that it can pick up 4g signal, but any ROM in the dev section will work on all 3 versions.
