Google is working on one but its hitting honeycomb first.

@whoareyou Before you port the Desire Z rom, You should attempt the HD first.. Mostly cause theyre the same frameworks and the RAM i.e. MSM Snapdragon Codecs and Voltages are all the same and it sits just about the same if not more on the Touch.
Really, take a look @ this and if you want a Exclusive tester for the building process I can be of great service.
Just A Thought.
I would test for sure! As soon as I get that damn ota update so I can permaroot my phone!

Whats with all the urgency? Its not like porting is an overnight process. Porting typically takes days weeks and sometimes months.
It is not that easy. I believe Gingerbread (2.3) requires a new kernel. That we do not have, nor do we even have kernel sources for 2.2 yet. It might be possible to port PART of it, but there wouldn't be 4g, amongst other things. Also, this would likely be the GSM version, which leaves us without a proper modem.
So all in all.... Probably not going to happen.
I saw this posted earlier on androidcentral I believe and they were talking about a password on the .zip I think maybe it was the filename but google it for yourself lol

At least we can test the os. Radio and 4g can be solved in time. We just want to test this rom. Also, I know how long it takes to port. Lol

Apparently you really don't. CM6 is still ages from being ready for the Epic for example.
Not to mention we don't even know how to full extract or even flash these files properly.
Stop being so impatient about this. It will be no easy path, period. In all honesty, we may never get it working.
There might even be problems further down. We might not have a touchscreen driver, we WON'T have keyboard, hell the screen might not even turn on.
You seem to think that this is some easy task that will be accomplished, and it is not.
Simply put; Don't get your hopes up.

Would love to see Myn's ROM for the Thunderbolt

I am a big fan of "Myn's" ROM on the EVO 4G, wondering if that can be tweaked to work for the EVO, or does it need to be completely redone from scratch ? Thanks.

Well, the T-Bolt has a desire z type rom already. May be fairly easy to theme it.
+1 on Cyanogen for the Incredible. It screamed and had tons of tweaks.

Interest in Inspire AOSP?

I was wondering if any of you guys were interested in full AOSP build or if CM7 was good enough for all you. If so, would you guys like optimized or pure vanilla, or both? I have some time soon, so if there's enough interest I'll compile a build for all y'all.
So who wants it?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
AOSP=Android Open Source.
I had to look that up
That would be awesome! Either way would be good
Just how far from aosp does cm7 deviate?
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
Hellz yes please!
I'll give either one a go.
I, for one, would be interested in a AOSP rom for our Inspires. There are somethings in CM7 that I could careless for, although I found ways around them. ex: Removing ADW launcher and replacing with stock GB launcher.
Alright guys, I'll start work tomorrow and keep everyone posted through this thread, so check back

Out of curiosity, would this proposed ROM have your OC kernel and battery fix included?
Appreciate the work!

I'm going to make a pure stock vanilla and an optimized ROM, but the optimized would have it.

As in AOSP just as Google intends Android to be... made for the Inspire 4g hardware? Heck yeah!
That would be great. CM7 is awesome but AOSP would be cool. I take it this was said blank canvas?

Exactly I love getting into new things, and AOSP was next on my list. Unfortunately, high school and a tattooing apprenticeship take up a lot of my time, so the kernel went unsupported for a bit. It's going on the backburner, but it'll be re-cooked after I finish porting AOSP. I'm shooting for a fully working MIUI kernel too now that we have gingerbread 1.3.18, but AOSP takes precedence. plus cattleprod should probably be able to beat me to it. so I should be able to get started tomorrow night, or Monday morning at latest.

Let me know if you want help with this, this is something I've been looking into doing as well.
I've been waiting for a stock build of Gingerbread to be written for a while now! I hope this is made specifically for the Inspire 4G too... I'm tired of everything thinking I have a Desire HD. That noice-canceling mic means so much to me
Utilizing the source coding released by HTC, I assume?
Just an update: i started working on sunday. I made some progress but wubi dicked up my bootloader on my comp so i have to get back into it. I made a lot of headway though, so i'll let you guys know what's up later tonight

Netflix on HTC Sensation

In case anyone was wondering, Netflix DOES work great on the Sensation. I put it on today and it works flawlessly. The picture quality is unreal. The file I used is netflix-new-mod2.apk, I think I found that in the Netflix for the Mytouch 4g forums, but I suspect any of them would work. Give it a try...
BTW Here's a Link to the Netflix app I spoke of. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076150

Netflix Official
I found that you can download Netflix directly from the market now, although it is not in the list of supported devices. It previously wasn't available at all. There seemed to be a resolution problem after closing the app.... Any ideas??
netflix will kill your data plan forget netflix
The is true forget netflix because of data and staring september you have to pay 7.99 for stream and 8.99 for dvd. I'm going to canel my account after that.

Hello all I have a HTC Sensation on T-mobile - tried this specific one and no joy.
It installs fine, but I get a very specific error when I try and play my queue.
I get "netflix loading" then after a good 5-10 minutes of trying it comes back with "There is a problem connecting to Netflix. Please try again later (13005)."
I called netflix and they told me it is because the error means my device is unsupported which I know it isn't officially listed yet so that was nothing I didn't expect.
I have T-mobile - lowest data plan and I'm over the usage cap of full speed so it is on the lower speed at the moment.
I don't know that this is what is making a difference or not, but thought I'd add it.
I run the phone stock with all current updates installed.
I see numerous posts saying which apk a specific user was able to get working and oddly enough I get the same error from having tried several of them - including the official netflix 1.3 app from the android marketplace, netflix-mod-2.apk, com.netflix.mediaclient_246.apk, and com.netflix.mediaclient-1.apk (the link provided above took me to this one).
Has anybody seen this/overcome it on a stock HTC Sensation and if so - how specifically?
To add insult to injury btw the com.netflix.mediaclient_246.apk one I found works great for my dad on his mytouch 4g when none of the other ones did for him.
Any help appreciated
Respectfully,
Neil
