yeah, you must be one of the lucky ones. I called the local BB today in New Jersey here where my preorder is and the mobile rep told me the most recent date they heard was the 24th.

I dont know about this. I do believe you are telling the truth, it seems like no one at best buy knows. I was at best buy yesterday and the guy told me 24th along with motorola Xoom. I have a droid x and my 14 days are up on the 23rd. If its the 24th I am going to go in on the 23rd and return the droid x and get the thunderbolt the next day.

Both Minnesota Districts have no Thunderbolts in stock and 0 on the way, and 0 in the territory warehouse. I watched as the employee in Lakeville, MN today showed me the RSS page (Best Buy Inventory program). Had the right SKU, $749.99 price. Sad to say but it is really looking like the 24th. Keep in mind, these are the 2 districts their headquarters reside in. There wasn't even any in Edina, the location that is literally across the street from Best Buy HQ...
The question to the Florida guy, did you physically see these stock numbers?

Trust me I want to believe! I was just throwing in what I found today. And im not calling the guy in florida a liar either. Having worked at best buy in shakopee, mn for nearly a year, 3 years ago, I never saw a product that suddenly change to show tons of stock and see none on the way. Only way I see this as being possible is if Verizon and best buy made a huge deal along the lines of "hide the tracking info in case the iphone sales flop we will let you exclusively release it early." Just my thoughts.

Well I've bought alot of Phones from BestBuy In some cases, they would not get that phone until Fedex delivered it on that release day. I dunno Maybe the Verizon rep is right or wrong, but never the less its coming this month.
I don't know why they'd release it without advertising...most likely to help the iphone get as many sales as possible, but that's just sad. this thing is a beast, and deserves the kind of marketing the EVO got from Sprint..

in regard to some to stores not getting them and some will.....
a week ago i made a post saying it was gonna be the 14th, when i was on the phonewith various people from besy buy corp, id say about 50/50 of the time, id get a response saying...stores will start selling them on the 14th, however the stores who had the bad winter storms could be as late is the 17th.
is wisconsin one of those state that got 2 feet of snow by chance?
with that said, id think that was period when the phones were actually shipped, (when all the snow went through the midwest areas) apparently with a "tell no one they are here" note stuck to them? just my theory for what its worth i guess

According to the information on this screenshot and word of mouth from Best Buy employees, the Thunderbolt will be released on the 21st. From what I understand, if a product doesn't have a street date (see street date on pic), the product can be sold as soons as it arrives at the store.

I work for Best Buy Mobile and as I have said, in stock date means nothing when it comes to when a product is being launched/sold.

Was in Best Buy yesterday and spoke to the guy who got the incredible release date spot on before it's official announcement and we were going over the differences. When I spoke to him he pulled some paperwork that stated the 24th is the official street date. The computer system just states when they are going to arrive in store, not really a release date.
THe guy in that forum has also posted the ad from next week that goes out monday morning on the 21st. The thunderbolt is on there, so dont be surprised if BB is selling it on the 21st, no where it says the availability so it looks like it will sell on the 21st. otherwise it would have said the available date on the ad. If they dont do sell the phone, it will sure piss people off who go to the store after seeing the ad.

I work retail, and no ads are not printed monts in advance. Our ads go out a week in advance, and I work at frys. Yes ads are made atleast 2, 3 weeks in advance. They dont print until a week in advance. we dont throw anything on ad that we are not sure about and that will not be available, unless ofcourse they one store is out of stock for some reason. Unless ofcourse we put an availability date on the paper that says the item is available on such date.
If best buy puts it on ad going out on the 20th and doesn't say that the item will be available on the 24th then they will probably piss off a lot of customers, even if it being released on the 24th, you gotta put that on ad.
Ads for best buy are actually made typically two~three weeks in advance, and get to the store a week before it comes out approximately
I know this just adds to all the heresay on here but this is what i was told by BB today. First the normal (non-mobile) store said they had no idea when they would get it, and it showed up in the system as "disco" so that meant it got delayed again.
Then i went to the BB Mobile store and they said it would be available on the 24th, and they wil reserve one for 50 bucks. Then the guy proceeded to tell me how stupid i would be if i got it with the Bionic being announced and then pulled out a DX to tell me how awesome it was being rooted. I asked what all he could do with root and he said it is overclocked and has a custom start page. I said oh yeah, my Incredible has Gingerbread, ill stick with HTC for the dev support/non locked bootloader.
The rumor mill has been awfully quiet today...

You work for Best Buy and you don't know the difference between in-stock date and street date?
Do you see to the left where it says "Street Date" and it's blank? That's where Best Buy documents the release date for a product. In-stock date just means when it's supposed to come into inventory.
Stores receive shipments on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays typically. I didn't even work in inventory to know that.
Anyway the confirmed release date is the 24th and the "delayed again" rumors are false. HTC CEO already stated he shipped out the phones. The only people crying "delay" are saying it because they might not get their shipments in time to launch on the 24th with the rest of the carriers.
I'm just saying what Bestbuy rep told me. He stated he's been calling people all morning. I don't know whether to believe him as there were only three other people on the waiting list when I signed up for preorder on Feb 14th. I've seen all the rumors on the web, I'm as excited as you are to get this phone, but Bestbuy really let my hopes down some... I hope It's out on 24th...

Guys this is a great phone but im just wondering.....if you take the 4g away from this phone its still a basic 2.2 Froyo Android phone.
There are no apps in the market that are special for this hone that another android phone can play.
What are you expecting from this phone besides looks and 4g? Or is the 4g enough?
Oh and the guy that leaked the inventory screen shot also leak the new sells paper for next week and it's in there as a "new" item with a price.

OK, I'm ready to give up my Backflip, and move up to a Infuse. I saw that Best Buy has them for around $100, any better deals out there? I am elgible for upgrade, with ATT, and saw that Amazon has it for $150, and Walmart for $130.

I just upgraded to the Samsung Infuse 4G through AT&T website and got a refurbished one for $19.99.
Just today 8/27/2011 so dont know how long its been at this price. I had been checking in on it for some time but the owest they had dropped the refurbished one
to was $149.99 so I was surprised it was $19.99 so I had to get it.
I picked mine up for $97 at Sam's Club.

If you're a costco member, it might be worth the extra money to buy it there. They give you 90 days to decide if you like the phone, with unlimited exchanges and model swaps.

I believe you can tell them you want to "check it out" and they will give you a 1 day shopping pass but you pay 10% more. It's also possible you can buy at the mobile kiosk without being a member (just like the pharmacy). Besides, you must have at least 1 friend who is a member.
Just looked online, Costco on line is $119. I did notice that several of the phone prices are cheaper instore, vs online. Walmart online was $129, but $98 in the store. Might be time for a road trip, nearest Costco is 50 miles away.

I doubt you'd be able to buy it without a membership. I don't know about the one-day pass, but when I purchased mine at costco, the mobile kiosk sent me to the regular checkout with a voucher to pay (where they checked my costco card as usual), and they had me wait there while someone ran back to pick up my phone/accessories.
One additional point is that you do get a free car charger and some other useless crap along with your purchase, so if the prices are similar, you save the $5-10 if you actually want one.

They have been around for a while, I referred my cousin to the site and they sent his order out with no problems, just recieved it last week. This is how they make money by boosting the shipping cost. I live in China I know how much they pay the phone and I know how much it cost to ship a phone. I shipped a guitar for 40$ in Montreal from Shanghai so 99$ for a phone makes no sense.
They are local to me. I wonder how much if i picked it up and pay cash.

If the Korean Version did have octacore and support LTE it would be worth waiting for, as long as it wasn't 3-4 months down the line anyway.

I was tempted to order one myself but wanted confirmation that it was the I9500 and not the Snapdragon 600 I9505. So I sent him a message early this morning. As yet - no reply !!!
This doesn't inspire confidence in buying from him even though he has a very good seller rating. Also, as you say I can only see 1 positive feedback from someone who has purchased an S4 - yet he has sold over 1000.
I was prepared to order this morning but not now. Especially after reading your message and not getting a reply to my earlier question, I'm not sure what to do.
I hope you get yours and at least you're covered by eBays Buyer Protection should anything go wrong !!! Keep us posted.
He replied to a message I sent on saturday today. All I can think is that he has so many messages he can't get through them all

Thanks for the update.
I contacted someone who had left positive feedback for purchasing an S4. I asked whether it was a genuine Octa I9500, you never know with alot of online retailers simply copy/pasting specs, and he confirmed that it was.
He also mentioned that the packaging was in spanish/portugese or something so looks like these might have been destined for South America maybe.

Well, that sucks because you are paying $99 shipping for FedEx International Priority so even if they are really busy - they owe it to you to ship your order out in a timely fashion.
I have just placed my order - it's working out about the same as buying the Snapdragon 600 version here in the UK, as long you don't get it hit by Customs that is !!! Hopefully, I get by the weekend at the latest otherwise I won't be a happy bunny

For what it matters, I did in the end buy from this guy. It arrived today. It's a latin america destined 9500 with the Octa as advertised. The thing left the manufacturing line only about a week ago. No problems in terms of tracking or shipping (Intl is FedEx, inside of the FedEx box it was wrapped in a UPS wrapper). Btw: European users: it comes with a US-power adapter, so probably you should order a Note 2 charger to go with it (works flawlessly).

I ordered it Friday and it arrived yesterday (from across the globe!) but it missed the daily courier truck so I got it only today.
In the end it was worth it because my country apparently doesn't give a crap about adding VAT to inbound packets and didn't ask me to pay nothing in addition, so I actually paid no taxes at all on it, i.e. 537€. (Plus shipping)
Just got off the line with Verizon, im on a launch day galaxy nexus and called to see if I could upgrade to a n3 and keep unlimited data.
I originally preordered under my month to month feature phone line and saw people able to keep unlimited.
I called and the rep Dawn said she personally owns a n2 and is upgrading, I did not pry, but she said "when they ship out on the 4th"
I asked and she confirmed multiple times that they are shipping on the 4th..
I have the whole call recorded, I just need to edit and upload.
So, I was able to upgrade the main line and confirm I could keep unlimited data.
The extra treat was her telling me multiple times that they are shipping on the 4th and us guys who preordered should get our devices
On the 5th.
Again, I have the proof on the recorded call and I will be posting a link shortly.
I can't vouche for honesty of the rep, she sounded informed and checked with supervisor multiple times...
Let's see how this plays out!

That would still be (3) days earlier, which would still make me happy, but I can't say that it doesn't hurt to see other people on other carriers get theirs sooner even though Verizon announced pre-ordering first. #StupidFirstWorldProblems

Oh for the love of all that is good! You should have picked a different title for the thread. People who are freaking psycho over a phone are gonna flame the hell out of you if it doesn't ship out on the 4th.

Went by my verizon corporate store after a deer tried to jump over my van and crashed into the back of it. Then a red wasp attacked me going down the road, after a panic stop the seat belt hung my shell holster. Didn't see it in the road and ran over it. Had to get another. Anyway they said the 11th for the N3 in store.

I don't hold anyone responsible for "leaked" info that doesn't actually come to fruition, I think we are all hearing different things (because no one really knows), and no one should get bent out of shape over a phone. I will miss my beloved GNEX. ALTHOUGH, WTF VZW? Who ships on a Friday? I really hope they meant arriving on the 4th. Anyway, I checked with the store I preordered mine at here in Seattle. They told me it was supposed to ship this week, in typical VZW fashion, they will be the last carrier to ship. The guys said they would update me with the shipping info when it ships. Waiting impatiently!

I listened to the .mp3 files, and yes, you're right. The rep did confirm the 4th. I hope she actually knows what she's talking about. The fact that the Verizon Galaxy S 4 released a week earlier than the pre-order date is encouraging.

I preordered at Best Buy and again on the Verizon page when the glitch was open. If Best Buy calls me to pick up my phone before Verizon ships it out will I still be able to keep my unlimited if I go the Best Buy route?
