So I had this working at one point, but had to do a rom flash and seem to have lost the functionality.
I used to be able to accept a google calendar appointment that came in via email and it was added to my WM6.1 appointments.
I was using Ricky's 6.1 v17 rom but upgraded to the latest (v24 I think) while troubleshooting another issue. I'd prefer not to downgrade if possible (thereby having to set everything up again).
Can anyone help me undestand the regular way to accept the invite via email (invite.ics attachment) so that it populates my local calendar?
Like I said, it was working once before....so I know it's possible. I just don't know what the configuration requirment/dependency is.
Thanks
seriously? am I the only one intersted in this? Not even a nibble?

Hi friends,
today is a very sad day!
I just received a mail that anounced "New Services" on nuevasync.com.
http://blog.nuevasync.com/blog/nuevasync/entry/new_services
http://www.nuevasync.com/nuevasync-personal.html
If you don't switch to the Basic 15$/yr / Premium 30$/yr Service it will stop syncing.
We have 5 days to switch to an alternative Service (web-based or installed Application).
Well i used nuevasync for syncing 9 GoogleCalendars and my Contacts to my TouchHD and everything works great.
Now I'm on a search for an alternative solution to get this job done.
I so far found ActiveGcSync. But I have to say it crashes pretty much, so it's no fun.
Do you have any other proposals?
kind regards
fwt
I'm in the same boat, just recently started using it again and was happy with it.
Not happy they have decided to stop being free (but that happens) and even worse only gave five days notice.
Not sure what to use instead... I'd pay $15 for life, but not each year.
anybody no of any alternatives, because I want to sync my contacts and multiple calendars to my windows mobile phone
The same here, I'm syncing contacts and 4 calendars at the moment. Any alternativies?
any word on alternatives?
I'm hoping this thread holds some hope:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793683
Until then, I am using gmobilesync, doesn't do contacts but that's fine for me.
I'm currently working on an alternative service. I dont have too much time to work on it, but I have some great ideas. If anyone wants to help me, feel free to join!

I've got lots of ideas too, unfortunately no capability to go anything technical to assist!
Send me a PM and let me know what you need done. I can help with some things, others I can't. I'll let you know what I can do to assist you though.
I tried gmobilesync but it double all my events. I think I will stay with normal sync described: http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138636&topic=14299
but I will need to copy events I need to have in phone to my main calendar :/

I've never experienced doubling up (touch wood), had you already synced up?
As my main calendar is used very little compared to our shared one, I'm not going down the copying route.

yes :/
there were also forecast and holidays copied to my main calendar while using it :/
Thank you for your help. I wrote a small exchange server which can synchronize my google calendar with my phone. It was easier than I thought. I dont know how much work it needs but I think I can publish it in 1-2 weeks. Meanwhile you can write your ideas here. If anyone could lend me a server for this, that would be awesome.

Sorry, no programming capabilities, nor a server I can share.
However, some ideas:
- Ability to pick which calendars sync
- Ability to pick sync schedule (or always connected or only manually)
- Two way syncing (can't get gmobile syncing to go from WM to google), keeping to the correct calendar.
- Ability to pick one way syncing (either way required)
- Ability to pick the default calendar (for me, this is a shared family calendar, not my main google calendar).
- Ability to pick colours for each calendar (or take the same colours as set in google).
I may come up with other ideas, but that seems to be it for now. Personally I am not interested in syncing contacts or email. Contacts I want to keep separate from those I call and those I email, email works better on imap than activesync.
Hey,
First of all, Im from the Netherlands so my English is might bad!
Well, since tuesday i have my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. Its great! But I have a coupol questions about things i dont get. My SE X10 is up-to-date!
1) Can i get the bookmarks on my phone synchronized with my Firefox bookmarks on my computer while using the standard browser on the phone? If not, is there an other way to do it?
2) I dont know how to explain this one but I'll try... If you're in the settings menu you have for every setting a title with an description. On some settings the description doesn't show up entirely. Can it be done so i can see the whole description?
3) Can i connect my phone contact with my MSN/Hotmail contacts? If yes, how?
4) All my e-mail accounts are now set on the standard e-mail application on the phone. When i delete e-mails with it they only get deleted on the phone itself. I want that if I look them up on my pc, they are there deleted as well. Can this be done? If yes, how?
I hope you guys can help me! Thanks already!
DeathPixel.
I can only help you with #4. I only use gmail for my emails, but I use the Email apk because the Gmail apk is ugly. Because I have sync set up, when I delete an email on my phone, it will sync with my inbox online if I have some sort of data connection enabled. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the reply! I use two hotmail accounts and one gmail account. I want to have them in one email application so i dont think this is a good solution :/.
hi,
i started this thread because I'm noob on XDA and i'm not allowed to post on development threads.
I had an intersting issue yesterday with my 'kaiten mail'. I switched saturday evening from CM9 (build 20120809) to CM10 (build 20120811). both roms are awsome especially the CM10 works very good (exept of flash player :crying as you see on the screenshots I posted down below kaiten mail downloaded about 1,39GB on wlan and about 300MB on mobile data. I dont know why but after delete and reinstall kaiten the problem was solved.
so this thread is just a warning and to notice you people!!
What is Kaiten Mail, is it a POP3 mail client? Also check out the 20120815 CM10 build, camera is fixed so battery will be much better among other things. Beware of Kaiten mail if wiping user data when upgrading
hey i was false, i already got the 20120815 CM10 build. I be honest, one of my best friends is always doing my upgrades, so i don't know exactly if he did so or not but anyway thanks for your proposal!!! kaiten mail is a pop3 mail client! For me it's the only mail program for android which is really good to work with. What mail program do you use?

Only gmail for me so no idea mate. The reason it didnt use a lot of data after reinstall could be that you might have 1.3 GB of emails on your sdcard, maybe in data folder, so didnt have to get it all again from the server. So still be careful after each reinstall and especially if formatting sdcard
i tryed gmail before i found out kaiten. wasn't satisfy with it.
but anyway thanks for the tip and for your replies! I hope after the whole samsung apple trial the work of all the XDA developer especially the cyanogen mates will still go further. love them for their efforts :good:
