Can anyone help me with a storage problem?
I'm fairly new to this and I have a lot of things stored to my internal memory on my palm treo 750, (I thought this was where there were supposed to be installed).
Maybe I have some overlaps or unnecessary items, this is whats installed:
Microsoft .Net configuration
mskip MS301 Widgets Pro Plus Ultimate
volDeus MS3 Config
Spb Mobile Shell
Mskip ProPlus WP7 V3.1 WQVGA
Resco Explorer
A C A2U2
Please help with a solution or advice, thanks ahead of time.

What OS version are you running (WM6, WM6.1, WM6.5)? That can be checked in the Settings->System->About.
Seems like you do the same things I do, I install to internal memory for necessary stuff, that needs to be in the internal storage, and I don't like installing to external cards.
In a few days I will be releasing a WM6.5 version that will grant more memory, and if there is much demand, I can do the same for WM6, for those that prefer WM6 (and maybe 6.1)
Hi Mangatron, I have your wm 6.5 rom that I love and has worked flawlessly! Can you tell me if I have any overlap? Like, do I need the 2 config programs? Thanks for the reply, I plan on donating for that awesome rom you worked so hard on. Thanks again.

What are the pros and cons of upgrading to Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard?
I already have the files from karhoe (http://karhoe.net/content/view/21/1/).
His guide it's great, but I don't wanna phone vodafone for warranties and stuff.
But I found that WM5 for smartphone does NOT include pocket Office.
Is it worth it to upgrade from WM6.1?
If you have a warranty on your phone, it'll void it. Also, if you don't follow the instructions to a T, you could brick your phone. Those are the only cons I can think of.
The pros are 6.1 doesn't seem to slow down a tornado.

Please find 'Esmertec Jbed 20080222 3.1M.cab' in this forum it is really good.. if you installed it on storage card, you will always get retained all your java applis. even after rom flashes..
Only thing is you have to create a shortcut manually to '\windows\start menu\programs' (or copy the shortcut to there) after installation.
Hi!
does anybody know nice Launcher Applications for WM 2003 like PointUI? Maybe "TouchFLO" for WM 2003? I have an IPAQ rx3715 (If this is the wrong Forum, sorry)
Hope that you can help,
Thanks in advance,
mautz001
And like always the notification
15 and from Germany, so if you find any language or grammar mistakes, please dont think that I cant speak english, I´m just learning it
Conduits Launcher runs on WM2003, but it is quite not the eye-pleasing class of apps like TF3D or PointUI.
Btw, did you try SPB Mobile Shell (maybe the version 1 has better chance of working on WM2003, but it is still really great launcher app)?
Thanks, but...
Hi CommZ
Thanks, but SPB Mobile Shell 1.0 doesn´t work on WM 2003 (not a valid pocket PC Installation File" and Conduits Launcher... ummm, no... No chance to "convert" PointUI to WM 2003? With some modifications in the setup.xml in the cab I was able to install it but Wm 2003 says: "Home.exe is not a valid Pocket PC application"
Thanks,
Robin

I am looking for a new version of Windows Mobile for "HP iPAQ Data Messenger".
Can anyone tell me the code name or the HTC Gert, which is identical in construction?
Hi guys,
did anyonbe identify the ata messenger?
Which HTC version would it be?
tx
any updates?
There should be no reason why it can't be updated. The old ipaq got a update.
I'm also looking for the WM6.5 update for the HP Data Messenger, HP Oak, but no luck!
Not sure if compatible choices is the right move?
Anyone tried?
Not to be found
Also looking for WM 6.5 ROM for the Data Messenger, but so far I've had no luck and I have looked for it vigorously !
Also looking for data messenger 6.5 rom
Hi I am also looking for data messenger 6.5 ROM, anyone cooking it?
I will donate to anyone how can have a 6.5 rom for data messenger.
Thanks
Guys, there is currently no 6.5 ROM out and I doubt there will ever be one since the Data Messenger was discontinued November 2009. (In other words, none are gonna be made anymore, those around are the last ones).
I think all you guys want is a phone with more eye candy and touch friendlier. So I recommend these apps that I have on my Data Messenger to make it awesome:
SPB Mobile Shell
Opera Mobile 10 (Free)
Resco Explorer
Resco Photo Manager (Or you can go with the free HTC Album App)
HTC Dialer (Free)
ROM
Hi, thanks for that list, I already installed mobile shell and the phone is a lot more usable and stable but still it sometimes crashes.
I gather that HP won't release any new version for it, but I was hoping that someone here would try to cook a rom for it.
Thanks
It is the worst device I have bought in my all live!
No assistance, no Update, no Battery live, too many bugs... too many crash...
I was forced to buy a new device.
HP... never more!!!
ANOTHER Data Messenger ...
wen i bought it 10 months ago i was pretty sure that it can be valid(hp...)
i found it unusable but i installed several applications, and now is more eyecandy...
Home Screen ++
personlized, Pocket cm contact
Pocket cm keyboard, enhanced file explorer,
Mortplayer(but it crashes really often)
and various other things...
but now is a bit slow...
i can cook a rom but i can't find resources;
what kind of program i need? and about compatibility or driver?
if you have possibility to find a wm6.5 to kook i'll be pleasured to create a rom...
Thanks to all!!!!
Somebody can help me?My HP data messenger was can't boot anymore. When i hard reset after that it's doesn't come back. How can I do that?
I want to boot from computer.Can I?
If I am honest, i cant look through this many different 6.5 Versions now available.
Can anybody with experience in this regard please tel me which 6.5 Version left most ram after start? ...and maybe which is currently the overall best rom available.
I dont need optical gimmicks, just poor performance and working touchflo in the applications like internet explorer.
Is there any performance gain between 6.1 and 6.5 (touchflo better maybe?, multiple today screens?) ?
Many thanks
well, I´ve been playing for several months with Cracing ´s rom. Installed spb shell 3, voice command and vito sms and theres nearly no more ram left to any reasonable big program....although 6.5 is smooth, we need more ram!
what about other roms??
(the biggest drawback of 6.5 is the lack of tweaking the memory slider between program/storage, That, would have solved my memory issue)
regards!

Thanks for reply.
Storage is flash and programm memory is ram, different type of memory - so that will be imposible forever though.
Whats about the touchflo, are there any differences between 6.1 and 6.5?
ups! but i saw that slider in wm5! (maybe I dreamt it!).
I thought all internal flash memory was shared between program and storage.
Sorry for the stupid question; What is the touch flo???
I just installed new rom and everything worked fine!
I use spb shell as my finger o.s. With voice command and vito sms left me all together with 5mb free.
Now that i kill nearly all "3rd parties" progz, i have 13.5mb free.
No doubt

Maybe you are thinking of PocketPC before Windows Mobile.
I had an HP Jornada 548 running PocketPC (WinCE 3.0) for many years, and it had the slider you speak of. But all of that internal storage was RAM. The division was between RAMdisk and program RAM. Whenever the Jornada ran out of battery it would need a cold reset. All wm5, wm6, etc instead use flash for storage memory, and RAM for program memory, so no slider is possible.
I agree with the post before this, that the Ham3r wm6.5 ROM, although marked pre-pre-pre-alpha, leaves the most free memory, and nobody has reported any fatal flaws with that ROM. If free memory is your top priority, use that ROM.
Hi
I have just received an xdaII mini and have been browsing these forums looking at the different roms available. I am just wondering, besides obviously being a newer release, what benefits the updated rom - say Cotulla's wwe03 - brings to the magician (in its default 2003se setup). Is it more stable, better features apps?
Cheers
2 words. Persistent Storage. This is the main reason (but not the only reason and there's a lot) why you should abandon WM2003SE and upgrade to Cotulla's ROM. This means that if ever you drain your battery, you would not lose all the data (e.g. contacts, appointments.. etc.) in your Magician.
make your xda mini beautiful
You can enjoy great applications and launchers when you upgraded your ROM. Many applications are running only if your ROM is wm5, wm6, wm6.1 or wm6.5.
Try to use spb mobile shell and see the difference in your xda mini.
Thanks for replies. What about memory issues. The XDAII mini only has 64 mb of ROM and 64 of RAM. Is this enough to run wm6? Do users get out of memory errors and is it stable...will I need to reset the phone regularly?
Well I held my breath and flashed wwe 3.03 to the o2 and it seems very quick and stable. As mentioned, my biggest concern was with memory management. Is anyone using external bluetooth gps devices with this?
Cheers
WM6.1 runs great even if the Magician has only 64MB memory. Basic rule is never to install too much applications in the internal memory which will slow down the unit. If possible try to install them in memory card. The good news is since you installed 3.03 then you now have SDHC capability.
As for your second question it would be better if you read the thread for the version you installed. If you can't find the answer then don't hesitate to ask you questions since there are a lot of members who will be happy to help you.
Have fun with your "new" magician!
