[Froyo] Morphs discussion and progress in here plz

Loving Froyo but missing the black noti bar and icons. Anybody got any that are compatible? please share thanks!
EDIT: Many users managed to get morphs working, HOWEVER the text color mods are currently not working therefore black stat/noti bars will have unreadable black text (clock, operator). Old morphs will work, you will need to remove the services folder from your morph and edit the thm/xml accordingly. I will be posting my morph which is a black stat & noti bar after a few tweaks.

i think i read somewhere metamorph does not work in froyo, needs update.
but the good old update.zip way should work. the rom needs to be deodexed. paul will do this next week. but it would be nice, if someone could deodex classes.odex from framework services.jar, so we are able to mod the status bar. found some info about this on smali/backsmali developer page but wos afraid to do something wrong. could an expert have a look on this?

the older version of metamorp with .thm files is working fine in my froyo.. i have change the top bar , the launcher icon and he power widge.. setcpu will not work (name of app has changed).. also my remove dots on lock screen morph works under foryo

Metamorph works just fine, I morphed my genie widget transparent.

has any one tried to app draw morph? I had that glowing colored X . Wondering how this would work with the new perm shortcuts...
also i am trying to morph my power strip, status bar...etc and its saying i need busy box... how do i get that?

Just Flash Cyans Quick-Root over your rom and u will have it

thanks man, i found the thread. Bout to flash this and be on my way . Cant stand the look of stock. Im awaiting for Cyanogen to get his 6.0 running as I think this froyo is slown in general from 5.0.6

I tried with the .xml's and didn't have any luck. will have to try thm's

Could we get a link to this version because i cant seem to get anything working >.< I get an error about the theme control file? Thanks for the help anyone!

Each of the notification bar morphs I have used have resulted in a boot loop upon the forced reboot... if anyone has successfully morphed the froyo notification bar, could they please post a link to a the .thm file or pertinent thread? Thanks!
Ps... preferably a desire look a like, but I'd settle for anything but white

you know you can just take the framework-res.apk and put the png's that were changed into the apk and push it back to the phone.

Got the latest MMorph (@ market ) working with Froyo
How ?
Installing this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686627 to my phone
Problem was the Busybox ( no included with OTA Froyo ) and MMorph app needs it to work correctly ...

You must be on drugs, this is WAY faster and smoother than CM was on 2.1.

someone wanna post link to morph's they are using that are working on 2.2 rather then just saying they have done it ect..?

I have also attached the screenshots of the mod below for you to have a preview.
To download click on the desired mod and flash it through xRecovery.

I really love this theme, transparent drop-down bar and blue icons, I was looking for something like this since a long time. There is one thing I cant get to look like on screenshots, that's the circle battery icon. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it stays the same. Should I install the one from appman for it, or is it included in this theme?

First install the Grey Circle Battery MOD For ulbldoomv7_beta6 from this link - http://www.mediafire.com/?9c2i0x32oxm9k6u
After that install my files.

needed one help....when i turned on wifi the status bar icon well as the network icon turns blue but whn i off the wifi it goes to black agn....i.e grey....m using the second one semi transparant with android in notification area....can u plz help me to get fixed with blue icon...n not the grey one...

Its workin fine for me....
Anyways i suggest you to flash wolf's default file from the OP and reflash the desired mod....
I think this should resolve any issues...

[MOD][9505][ME2/ME3] (deodexed) Black Statusbar / Battery Full Notification disabled

I made a couple of changes to alter the dark gray statusbar to pureblack and disabled the irritating battery full notification on the GT-9505
tested and confirmed working on ME2 odexed/deodexed roms :fingers-crossed:

I use cwm and odexed version of 9505 MDM firmware, I ran both files through apktool again and posted them again, both files works fine :fingers-crossed:
please download en try again

Tried it on odexed me2 and it did not work there

@bruzski: i try by myself with my deodex to chage in black color statusbar as you, i compile and everything is fine, but when i flash systemUI with this mod, when telefhone turn on, systemUI crash and have fc..
I decompiled and changed color in "res/values/drawables.xml" as i every time do with my S2 (and threre work always fine), but here i have this issue.. I miss to do something? Change something to do in S4 apks? (i now to use apktool, manage with that, delete resources in keep folder ecc)

I can confirm that it does not work on odexed ME2.
@bruzski-Is is going to be possible for you, of you have the SystemUI.apk from ME2, to decompile it and make the status bar black? I by myself, but everywhere I see java errors and it simply does not want to decompile it properly.

hey it's transparent yes, but if you select a downloaded wallpaper you normally get a dark gray statusbar and not real black, that's why i made this little mod

ahh.... that makes sense.... very nice indeed.. i did not try it on black background... i just saw it was transparent and then i went on to another one... i prefer it being black all the time..
but great job... it looks better than stock by many miles
will you make other work perhaps ? a mod of the message app with decent smileys ?

[Q] Need help about SystemUI apk

Hi, I'm using HiSense EG680 bundled with Smartfren (local Indonesian CDMA operator) and I'm using a custom Rom created by a local dev
I need a help about the system UI apk and everything that is related with the status bar and the dialer app.
The dev has set a centered clock on the status bar and a mobile network speed indicator also on the status bar, that cannot be modified by gravitybox
The problem is I don't really like the centered clock and the speed indicator, and on the dialer app the dev has set an image that not everyone would like it as a dialer background. I want the clock to be moved back to the left side and the indicator removed, and the dialer background like the default. but I don't know how to done it as I'm not so familiar with the compile and decompile thing
I need someone to help me with the problem, By editing the apk and send it back to me. you can see The screenshot of The problem in the attachment, I will send the files that needed to you

It'll be better if you contacted the developer of that systemui apk to help you as he'll be able to help you better than anyone else. Also if u don't like the status bar or dialer u can change it by installing another one which u like.

Sorry bro, I have no knowledge of how to edit the systemui apk, however I can provide u with a method to install another status bar without a recovery incase u find another status bar or the stock one.

You'll need the SystemUI.apk of the status bar u want to install. Do u have it ?

Okay so I assume that u have the required apks. Just go to the thread linked in my signature and follow the lucky patcher method (point 1) to install ur status bar. As for the dialer, it can also be installed using the same method, just skip the uninstalling part (begin from step 6)

Well I have a systemUI.apk that doesn't match my custom rom I guess

Hey I think I found the solution to your problem but you'll need to tell me if you made a backup before flashing the new rom ? And no, I'm not going to tell you to restore your previous rom. But before typing any further I'd like to know the answer to this.

Yup I had them backed up via MTK Droid Tool since I'm using MTK based device

I don't know how mtk backups are like, but I guess there must be a system.yaffs2.img file in the backup. Download smanager here and use it to open that file. Now go to system/app and copy the SystemUI apk and install it using that Lucky Patcher method. Hope this works.

Or i would just like to say, download custom status bar. There are many themers out there. Just google custom status bar for your device. I did the same.
