[ROM][CDMA][14/02/2011] Pre-Rooted Stock 2.2 ROM for USCC Users RC3/FINAL - Desire Android Development

This is based on the new USCC RUU, 2.11.573.5. This is just a stock ROM which has been rooted and has the following:
- Deodexed (to allow theming)
- A2SD (512MB minimum EXT3 partition needed to work)
- Busybox
- Init.D support (for power saving mods)
- Apps ZIP alligned (Better RAM usage)
- 3 in 1 Reboot Power menu added (might not work so will need to let me know)
- uses updater-script (Edify) for those using newer recoveries
I've removed the normal Market/USCC apps to make this a stock Sense-based ROM
Other than that it's just a stock ROM.
I won't be keeping this up-to-date so bare this in mind. I live in the UK and use a GSM phone so I'm just making this to help out CDMA users which actually want Sense!
CDMA RC3/FINAL (inc Radio)
CDMA RC3/FINAL (no Radio)
If you're coming from a different ROM (or from stock) you'll need to do a FULL wipe before flashing. If coming from another custom ROM then do a nandroid before flashing this as it might not work properly due to not testing as I don't use a CDMA handset.
If you're coming from another build of this ROM I'd recommend a full wipe but you should be OK if you don't

I agree, just for the few of us not on US Cell. Maybe put them as a seperate d/l? I dunno, don't want to get too demanding as I'm just happy to have 2.2.

As I said, other than removing the apps I won't be listening to any more requests. I'll get it up as it is and then perhaps another build with the apps removed.
I'm not removing them as I don't know how written into the ROM they are. Once tested we'll go from there

still glad someone did this, put a donate link in the first post as I will donate as I'm sure others would do

Nah, it's OK - built the ROM in work so not even my own time!!
What I wouldn't mind, if it's working and all that, if someone can take some screen shots of it to go on the OP - Just need one of the Home screen and of the Software Information page
I'm also adding the radio to the ROM as obviously new FroYo radio will work better than older Eclair ones...

Yea I was going to ask about the radio, this is making my day
Sent from my HTC Desire CDMA using Tapatalk

I'll take screens if someone don't beat me to it, as I got another 8 hours of work to go.......till I get to my puter

This is awesome. I would say leave the USCC apps in there or move them to data as well. I will be looking forward to this and possibly themeing it or seeing what else can be done.
Jared

Just a quick question, and yes I've searched: How hard is it to add DSP Manager to a Sense rom? The only thing I truly hate about the Desire is the speaker and I've heard tweaking it can help. Thanks.

Thanks for your work. Does zipalign or deodexed save any space? Also, how is data2sd implemented? I am using my own custom version of this rom right now.

ROM is up, it's basic A2SD so an EXT3 partition needed - minimum 512MB
The radio is on here so once flashed and its rebooting do NOT interfere with it!!
If coming from another ROM, FULL wipe (data, cache, dalvik cache) required - do a nandroid before flashing to be safe as THIS IS A TEST BUILD AND I'VE NOT TESTED IT!!

Could you make one without a radio update? I am not sure if I want it.
Sent from my PB99400 using XDA App

You'll need it for FroYo, things like the 720p video won't work without it (if it's anything like the GSM phones)
If not I'll do another without it at some point

Question: I just went to a Gingerbread ROM a few weeks ago, Ultimate Droid3.0 RC. I've partitioned my 8 gb SD with a 1024mb partition already and moved apps over to it. I'm happy with this ROM, but I would like to see what this stock 2.2 has to offer. Obviously, I've backed up what I currently have before the re-flash, but I'm wondering how 2.2 will see my apps on my SD. Should I throw in another SD to test or should 2.2 recognize everything as-is?

Nicely done Eddy, ill give this a whirl at the weekend
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

This is for CDMA phones only - do NOT flash it if you have a GSM a phone!

Flashing now. Per my other post, I used another SD card to test with. Will find out the rest later. Update shortly.

Requirements: You must have a rooted G1/Dream/Sapphire [32b] devices only. You also need the Danger SPL and one of the 2.x radio's
Changelog: AndroidMobSquad-v0.3 built off of RC3
-Stuff removed: (removed to free up memory): amazon, rom manager, google voice (download from market and install on external storage if you choose to), and lot's of ringtones (If your favorite ringtone is gone, let us know which one or ones, and we will add it back in.)
-Stuff added: Bootanimation, Htc Launcher, 14 wallpapers, black keyboard, and custom theme.
Instructions:
-Full wipe before flash. Flash rom and then gapps. We added our own gapps with some things themed like the browser quick search box, and the genie widget. So please feel free to install these worry free.

-Download the xml file and place it on the root of your sdcard. Then go to CyanogenMod settings > User interface > Tweaks extras, then select Import colors to XML
XML Download: http://drop.io/zlfn7ih
-We recommend downloading or installing SetCpu to overclock to 576mhz. If you wish to overclock higher, download dumfuqs kernel and flash in recovery. A good and stable speed is 595mhz max. You must set up SetCpu first before flashing this kernel and select set on boot, otherwise it won't work.:
Download from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?b7v09yej45we844
Update: If you want appstoext partition, you can download Firerat's patch. Many people have added it to their roms, but there may be issues in doing this as opposed to running the patch from your sdcard. I like to use compcache. Follow the instructions on his page, and run only the commands from the script that you need. The Facebook sync patch is not needed any more, this has been fixed.
Firerat's page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=679572
-Set CM Settings > Performance to "disable surface dithering", "lock home in memory", enable "JIT", enable CompCache. Your phone will probably reboot once you enable compcache, so make sure you have anything else you want checked before enabling compcache.
Looks good. Who's rom is it based on? It looks similar to htclay's Superfly.
eh, it looks like the same only.. edited it. We didnt want to copy someone else's work if you know what i mean

yeah I think he messaged a moderator about it to remove the other threads
testing the ROM since the past day
all things are going great untill the compcache dumped me i turned it off and enabled swap by firerat patch 138b, things are again going great now
one I want "Old Phone" and "Digital Phone" Ring tones back
2nd is that the keyboard is a too contrast in coloring... it is having strain on eyes... specially in low light conditions... so i would like the colors of the keyboard to be a bit to the duller side ... may be inspired by the original keyboard
3rd i would recomend to try use swap instead of compcache if some programs are shutting down due to low memory
which way to app2sd? ext or fat?
"If you want appstoext partition, you can download Firerat's patch."
Sounds like ext and not fat....
Seems more like if you want Apps2sd on FAT just use this ROM as it is, if you want them on EXT apply Firerats Patch.

Basically yes. I'm pretty sure that apps2ext partition is on cyanogenmod's list of things for do for 6.1.0, which should be coming soon. As far as 6.0.0 goes, apps2ext is not one of the options.
thank you
amazing rom only thing can u add htc hero widgets like calender weather.
Theming someone else's hard work and calling it a ROM is asinine.
Why don't you just put a metamorph theme up in the Theme section and call it a day.

Well for one, the framework would not run properly at first on rc3, so I had to recompile the framework-res.apk. and second I added all the themed icons in seperatly. As far as the launcher icon goes, we are planning on changing that on the next version. So please tell me one thing in this rom that was already a metamorph theme for rc3.
I'm saying why don't you just make this a metamorph theme instead of calling it a full fledged rom when it's clearly just CM6 all dolled up.
Sent from my HTC Magic using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
well what we are trying to mean is that we had to edit the theme and recompile it so it would run fine on the rom. I know it looks like it would be easier to just make a full theme for the rom but i don't know exactly.
The ROM is running great on my phone but I have a slight problem - when I try to run my browser, the phone will shut off and takes a couple minutes to restart. I tried wiping and flashing the ROM again and keep running into the problem. Any suggestions?

This rom is based on nfinitefx45 stock deoxed rom. It was rooted and came with apps2sd, i felt this was a good base and I wouldnt have to extract the RUU myself. I then made and added some features. I also added a few scripts and features from fresh rom.
This is my daily rom and it works very nicely. The reason I felt it was ok to upload is that I optimized the apks and combined features. It is more original then many roms that have been found here. The battery life is also very good, Iv gone a full day with moderate use and never went below 70%.
Much more to come and will try to keep updated.

Much more to come...
The bottom bar is from an Evo rom VirusRom. The set up of the this post is also similiar to the VirusRom on the Evo threads. I wanted to put something similar to that on here for the Hero forums. The Hero forums are lacking in roms and style. So here is my attempt at it. I was impressed with the way Virus presented his rom.
Thanks to nfinitefx45, flipzmode, JsChiSurf and the Evo guy XxXViRuSXxX. Also to toast and darchstar for there work with the hero.
I have been using cyanogenmod for the past 5+ months and recently switched back to sense. So please don't tell me that you prefer or think its better. They are two completely different roms. I also am not new to this and not new to these forums. Just haven't been very active past couple months.
Here are the screen shots. The notification bar (charge, usb debugging) isnt as red anymore. Also the phone app isnt messed up. It was me deleting the numbers with photoshop.
I changed the notification drop down background.. Let me know if it looks better know. I dont have the hero to take screen shot right now.
Whoa. Not often we have new ROMs around here. Excited to see what you've got in store!

Does Zen's any kernel work with this as well? I am running aloysius with it and setcpu right now.
Downloading and will be flashing shortly. I'll report back with my findings.
Another question, can i flash the rom and then a kernel back to back?
Idk about zens kernels. You can always try. If it doesn't boot then reflash the rom without wiping and it will replace the stock kernel. Also you can flash any thing back to back. Just do the rom first.

PERFORM A NANDROID BACKUP FROM THE MENU
Select the option to apply an update zip, and select the zip file you copied to your memory card
Upgrading
No wipe is explicitly required in order to use this ROM, however if you do encounter issues of any kind, it is recommended that you wipe your device and reproduce the issue before raising it here.
Downloads
This ROM is now available in the free online kitchen at MoDaCo. In addition to the kitchen, a prebaked download is available.
Gr5 (default kitchen options, no MoDaCo additions) - DOWNLOAD
Radio 12.62.60.27U_26.13.04.19_M (extract from zip and flash via 'fastboot') - DOWNLOAD
Please note that the download links implement referring checking to avoid deep-linking. If you are redirected to the MoDaCo homepage when you download, try 'right click save as', disabling ad blocking / no script or if all else fails try an alternative browser.
Unedited RUU
If you would like to base a ROM on 3.06.405.1, I have put the stock RUU online for you. I do NOT recommend flashing this in it's entirety, it should be used only for development purposes! DOWNLOAD
Thanks
It's impossible to mention everyone who contributes to the Android community by name, but to everyone out there who does great work and shares it with us all - you have my gratitude and respect.
Future Updates - READ THIS!
By providing this ROM I am not implying in any way that future updates will follow. Due to limits on my time and the fact that I have a large number of devices for short periods of time, it isn't possible for me to continue providing ROM updates indefinitely. Please do not donate / sign up on the assumption that future releases will be available (I don't want you to be disappointed!).
I no longer have access to a Desire HD, so this ROM is no longer being updated.
The download and kitchens will continue to be available should anyone wish to use anything from the ROM - feel free to contact me via PM with any questions.
And finally...
Details on how to donate should you wish to do so are in download topic at MoDaCo.
Enjoy!

In the future, when updates are released, you can just flash without wiping hence keeping all your data. This is the case unless there are major deviations from the original base ROM. That said, if you don't mind losing data, I'd always recommend a wipe.
Regarding the ROM, I can't wait to try this tonight (3D Gallery, Lockscreen )....... Why do I have to work, why do I have to eat and why oh why do I have to sleep??
Will report back any issues etc.
Thankyou once again for all the hard work.

Great ROM,
I just got a quick question though, if i wish to push my own custom bootanimation to the handset, where do i push it to? ive tried both /data/local and /system/media and i still get the MoDaCo bootanimation showing.
Any help would be great.
Again Great ROM!!!
Can't get adfree to work, any thoughts?

if you did uncheck the defaults at Applications/software, HTC Sense, then when you press Home button, you dont get a question which launcher to start?

[Rom] MADS REWORKED Stock GB V21a (V1.0 Stable)

Welcome to my first rom thread... I noticed that most roms tend to use launchers such as ADW or Launcher Pro, but being a person of simple tastes, I decided to have a go at making my own rom using the stock gingerbread launcher.
This is v1.0 of my rom, its fast, based on the latest (official) v21a release from LG, so far with a few minor (but effective) changes.
REMOVED:
Some (not all yet...) LG bloatware and relevant odex files,
LGHome.apk and LGHome.odex
The default boot animation.
ADDED:
FM Radio... (not tested it as I cant find my headset, but im sure it works >.<)
Android particals (boot animation, GB green),
Root Explorer,
Rom Manager,
The stock GB launcher (launcher2.apk).

INSTALLATION:
For this rom to work, you will need the GB baseband installed (either from the official v21a release or the leaked version from a week or so back).
Unrar the download, and copy to your external SD cards,

Use Rom manager or CWM and wipe all, then restore this pack.

I don't need to flash the baseband since this is the Official GB Rom right?
I should of stated in the first post, you need to already have the baseband (either via the official v21a release or the leaked version a week or so back).
Will update the first post now.
Thanks awesome smooth fast and sexy rom.

Fyi... you should delete gmail and vending plus their odex file since you put in the new files. They are in there twice...
Good job otherwise

Will sort that in the next version, thanks for the tip
Root explorer is a payed app, be carefull when including those apps on your future versions, you may have problems. Keep up the work, O3D needs more people interested on developing.

Oh, whoops, (Thanks for the tip) I never really thought about payed apps, I'll include a different file browser in the next release, any other features anyone would like to see included? (I'm not fully to grips with Android development yet, but I learn quickly ).

I agree that we should support developers. I was using cydia (during my iPhone age) and using lots of crackwares. But having realised that I am putting the developers down I started buying apps and use only apps legally acquired.

Same. I used to do that during part of my time with the iPhone but not all of it.
And 110% agree with being behind the devs. Without them, we don't get this.... any of it.
Hi madshaun1984
Does skype front/rear camera works with this ROM.
Thanks.
I don't use skype personally on my phone, but I'll see about adding it in my next release, I've got it over-clocked atm, and I'm currently toying with a few other tweaks to see how they work/respond. Will upload what I've got later on today if I get time
Anything else you guys would like to see in this rom? (the over-clock will be implemented, but will be (2 click) easy to disable to if you choose to)
I, for one, would really like to see a ROM with an easy overclock which I could set to my preferred setting. I have been looking at overclocking for the last few weeks but it doesn't look very easy to do as I'm not very used to scripting, etc, just getting into modding my phone these last few months so still a noob really.
Cheers
I think multiupload is down or something, does anyone have another link?
Upload the wallpaper in the screenshot please???
That's all I got to say bout that...

**MY HUAWEI ASCEND P2 HAS DIED, I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTINUE DEVELOPING FOR THIS ROM BUT I WILL STILL HELP THOSE WITH THE P2**
CrispeROM v0.1 BETA
This ROM is for the Huawei Ascend P2 and is based off the B021 update from Huawei.
Please note: This is a BETA ROM and should be considered experimental.
Things you will need:
Huawei Ascend P2
TWRP of any kind [here's the version I use]
ADB Knowledge
Bugs:
- Whatsapp crashing (fix by rooting, removing the APK from /system/apps and then re-downloading from Play Store)
If you find any please post in this thread.
Changes:
Still lots to be made but so far just fairly basic
- Replaced the Launcher with 2 alternatives
- Edited build.prop
- Replace contacts, SMS Messaging and dialer app with free alternatives
- Integrated Facebook app
- Changed the default keyboard to the Google Keyboard
- Removed stock browser (because it was awful and a complete waste of 30MB)
- Stopped android making the phone starve itself of available RAM (A serious problem I had with stock ROM)
- Dramatically reduced boot time
- Added fast boot option in Settings
- Silenced the camera snap sound
- Replaced the Boot animation (to a really cool one)
Here are some screenshots of the ROM so far:
OUTDATED:
You can download the ROM here:

Enjoy!
If you have any ideas feel free to post them too!
I like the look of this ROM but I'm going to wait for a BO38 version. It's only because it has better battery life and 4g

I have made tweaks to the ROM to improve battery life.
I cant speak on behalf of 4G but hopefully someone can tell me whether or not it works as 4G isn't available in my area, but it should work.

I'm tempted to flash this rom. Does it mention 4G in the settings.

Take a backup of your current ROM and then flash this one, if 4G doesn't work then flash back (you will be able to with TWRP)
I have spoken to Three and they have said that B021 update is 4G capable.
Like I mentioned above I can't test this myself as I don't have 4G in my area.
There's a *#xxxxx# code out there that opens the 4G settings, if I can get ahold of that code I'll pass it onto you and you can manually enable 4G if it's not already.
Thank you
Ok my temptation beat me and I flashed the rom. It's a good start and I think 4G does work because it was enabled in settings. I liked it but I prefer different dialer. The only problem I really had with it was that It removed root and super user as well as the fact there is no FM radio app. I might test the 4g later when I am in an 4g area.

Thank you for being the 1st tester of the ROM.
Please let me know how things go so I can improve the ROM.
You can install any dialer from the Play store and you can re-root using TWRP (it should give you the option to install SuperSU when you go to Reboot > System)
Enjoy!
Do i just use abd fastboot to flash your twrp on the p2 then flash as 'per' any rom, after i backup my own rom ?
Is it still possible to delete some stuff i don't like in the rom like facebook?

Yes, "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" is the command you want.
Then copy the zip to the SD card using "adb push <zipname>.zip /sdcard"
Then install using TWRP recovery.
Also, unfortunately my P2 has died, so I've had to buy a new phone and I'm going to have to put an end to this project, anyone who wants to expand on the ROM and rename it, feel free.
I wish those who still own this device good luck with ROM Development.
I will still help people on the threads I've made so far.
