seems so expensive though... 300 bucks
Yea it is, I have the older non HD version which you can probably find on ebay for $150. I didnt buy it with the intention of using it on my phone, that was an added bonus. I travel alot and am a huge jets fan. with the slingbox i could watch the games where ever i was, and the only other option was NFL sunday ticket from direct TV - which i think is like $299 so it made sense getting one

makes sense I guess. The HD one really provides a good HDstream? I was wondering if you could record shows with that thing as well?
I dont know too much about the HD one, the regular one works just fine for me - i have a 47 inch 1080p HD tv that i hook it up too from my computer when im not home - gratned the quality itsnt the best but its more then watchable (expecially for streaming media blown up that big) . . . upsteam connections from my house are around 800k, and it uses all that is available which is stable for the most part.
I think i saw somewhere on the website something about a Hard drive and DVR functionality.
looks like there is some 3rd party software that lets you record from it.

Yea I agree skyfire is nice try but not really a feasible thing... especially probably not for VGA devices... Damn ADOBE GET WITH IT...
If Playon transcodes the stream based on pipe size or media renderer, you could easily get uPNP working by setting up a VPN. I haven't heard of many other media servers that will do netflix (at least not stable).
Anyone out there streaming Netflix movies on your HD2? If so, how?
I would love to know this too... +1
If i knew how to even look at going about doing this i would learn and develop it. This would be a killer app!!! especially on our yummy 4.3 inches of pure awesomeness
There has got to be a way.. if we can watch previews, and adjust our Qs.. there has to be a way to steeem the movies to our phones.
Any dev want take this and run with it?
You'd need a mobile Silverlight player in a shell that tricks Netflix into thinking you're on an approved browser.
that would be sooo sick... i was so upset at the partnership t-mobile or htc made with blockbuster... i mean that's a dying company on the verge of bankruptcy... why??!! Netflix would've been the best choice... and it would've rocked my socks off
this would be the best app ever.
maybe just a hulu player that allows full selection.
I know they have netflix app for WP7
6.5 is not going to be getting silverlight
i wish someone would some how come out with app that lets u stream netflix.then it'll b fun to carry around a 4.3 inch screen phone.hehe

Maybe not. I'm running Firefox on my Win7 machine and to the best of my recollection, I haven't upgraded to SilverBlight despite the frequent nags. So there's gotta be a way, no?
HD2 and Netflix
My HD2 was rocking the netflix better than my wii and xbox the listings where fab but sadly after not checking for a few days i went to log onto my NF and watch some movies as i was sitting at the DR office to find...... there is a new version and you must upgrade...... then upgrade not found retry or exit
@ DraksFangs Do you have Netflix running on android or windows 6.5???
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA Premium App
Must be Android. There is no working Netflix for Winmo. I had Neflix on my HD2 through Android too, and yes, since two weeks ago it keeps telling me new version, must upgrade and then, not found.
WinMo, no. But WP7 has it. I had it runing on my WP7 HD2, but I came back to Android and found out my Netflix app no longer works. Boooo
Stumbled across this when streaming free TV app. They have a great deal of content, live channel, movies on demand and HBO, HBO needs a Window Plug-In though. The Other players work and are built in, some optimized for Adobe 10.1, the others, not so good. Overall, I think 24.99 subscription for first 6 months is very reasonable for what is available. You can watch on multiple computers as long as you want. Streaming live TNT works really well on Nexus in stock browser. Also player allows you to go full screen. After first 6 months it goes back to regular price of 35 or 36 something like that. But if you don't like you can always cancel. They also have great support, from what I have read. Right now I'm streaming HBO from my PC and simultaneously TNT from my phone logged in at both places. So if you want live TV on your phone at an affordable price, with a wide variety of content, this is an option. It's user friendly with search bar, and built in players. Here is the Link: http://www.1tvpc.com/
haxxored ?
are accounts being broken on xda and spammers posting constant crap about live tv ... or did i miss something ?

Must be a full moon or something. This is the app theme section right, No spam here. It's not actually an app but , I thought others might be interested in the option. It streams through the browser live shows that are on TV. Is that better for you?

I'm not trying to convince anyone to get this. I have it now and using it on three different computers, 2 laptops and the Nexus. Just have a look around and see. It's not something you hook up to your TV like Sling Box. Basically it uses the function of Adobe 10.1 and brings a variety of TV and live TV content to our phones and computers. You could probably find these place on your own each site and bookmark them, but i don't want to deal with that hassle. I tried looking for a few places by Googling them, and a lot of times I came up empty or it was just video, not live streams.

In my opinion. It is worth it. Here's what I know works straight from the phone , tried and tested. FX Channel, USA Network, TNT, TBS, MSNBC, CNN, HISTORY CHANNEL, ESPN, FOOD NETWORK, LIFETIME MOVIE NETWORK AND DISCOVERY CHANNEL. All of these channel work very well on the Nexus one right off the browser. So, hell yes, it is worth it. and you can use it on multiple computers. I already feel my money was well spent. And those are the immediate channels that I tested. Very good quality. Plus the built in player allows you to go full screen.
To the person who said something about not being a Nazi. This is really an app or software that works directly with Adobe 10.1 Flash. If you don't have that app, it wont work. So, really this is only an option available to those who have FROYO. It is an outside app, software that works through the browser as a subscription, that streams live TV using Adobe app Flash 10.1. the player is exclusive to them, BoxLIVE TV streamer and that is also part of the package that is being payed for. Without it it wont work on the phone.
The only channel that doesn't work on the phone is HBO. It does however work on the computer lap top with Windows Media player 11 plug in.

24.99 is for the first 6 months. Then 34.99 for every 6 months after. Jetflicks TV in the market is 29.99 for 6 months and doesn't offer any live channels, but has a wide variety to choose from.(shows). Sling box is connected to your cable TV. Which means you must have the Sling Box and cable tv + the app in order for it to work. Approximately 200 for box and and app on the market and the price of your cable every month. 1tvpc you don't need cable at all. All premium channels work on the Nexus except HBO. FX, USA,TNT TBS SPIKE TRUTV DISCOVERY CHANNEL CNN MSNBC HISTORY CHANNEL ESPN ESPN 2 LIFETIME MOVIE NETWORK ABC CBS NBC all these live channels work on Nexus. Plus there is no interruption like Mobi TV asking if your still watching. I fell asleep watching TNT in the morning when I awoke it was still on, streaming on Nexus. You can also create favorites so all you channels are easy to navigate within one location.
Hi everyone,
Do any of you in the UK with a Motorola Xoom have the option to rent HD versions of films from the newly released (to the UK) Movies section of the Android Market?
I cannot see HD versions of movies on my Samsung Galaxy S2, (I want to play them back via MHL/HDMI to my TV screen), but I am not sure if this is because:
HD movies aren't available to the Galaxy S2 or;
HD movies aren't available to the UK yet
The article on the Android Market here suggests that the Motorola xoom can rent HD movies, so I wondered if someone in the UK who has a Xoom could kindly check and see if you have an HD rental option in the Android Market.
That way I would know if it was a geographical restriction (UK) or a hardware restriction (Galaxy S2).
Thanks very much for your time.
James
No one in the UK has a Xoom?
I have one, running 3.1 no option /tab in the market for movies, at this pointing it does appear will post back!
Thanks. That's a shane you don't have the option yet, but thanks for taking the time to look.
Bump! Anyone?
UK XOOM . No movie option.
UK Xoom, no movies yet.
Canadian Xoom here, I can see the movie links but cannot rent or purchase.
hijacked?
UK movies available here using market 3.1.6 however cannot rent movies because device is rooted and so will not play rented videos.
I am considering purchasing the Tab 2 10.1 and have been reading reviews but haven't come across anything regarding streaming media from the network sites like ABC and CBS. Can anyone tell me how well the Galaxy handles this? I'm also wondering how well the Netflix app runs. Thanks!
Anything you can do on previous Android devices you will be able to do on this tablet. So I would assume that you can.
Well I have a Transformer Prime currently but it constantly reboots when streaming so that's why I'm curious about the Galaxy. Prior to the Prime I had an iPad.
No problems streaming here
I have been able to stream movies from HBO.com, amazon instant videos, and other various websites with no problems... I think as long as you have adobe flash installed it should be fine. I love my new galaxy tab 2 10.1, I was thinking about getting an iPad but am a huge Android OS fan and the new ICS is amazing in tablet form... Its definitely a worth while purchase... I primarily use mine to watch movies and TV either through streaming or downloaded movies and I have no complaints...
Well the netflix app runs flawlessly. It's one of the most used apps on my tab. I haven't streamed through any other apps all though i have installed Hulu and it appears to work as well.
Hulu Plus works great, as does Crackle.

Streaming is the big reason I have ordered Gtab 2 p5113--should be arriving tomorrow. I love my amazon prime videos and can't use it on the "other" device which makes me cranky. Very excited!!
yes, for sure!
And for iptv streams i'm using ITPV application from market
Amazon Prime streams like a champ! Yeah!!
