A way to unroot my phone would be helpful as I have been haing some problems with my phone. I believe these to be Samsung software issues such as stuck in thee booting prosess. Im on my second phone and have had to hard reset it several times

In the forum search look fo "z4root". I used it to root my epic . It took a few uninstall-reinstall-reboot-run-repeat cycles but I am successfully rooted and didn't even need a PC
Epic is as Epic does

Thanks ill try that.

Is that even on the market anymore?
I used one click lag fix to root mine

I tried the z4root and another one click root I found on the forums nneither of them worked. Probably because im running 2.2. I found a one click root using a computer so I think that will be my next attempt

Rooting the T-Mobile SGH-T959

Just wondering if there was any progress being made on figuring out how to root the T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant. Anybody know if a fix is being worked on and if so what the ETA is?

it's pretty much been rooted from the beginning. google is your friend
Really? Not to sound like a hardcore n00b or nothing, but I've tried every method out there and nothing has worked. If you've got a solution id love to know where you found it.

Only way is using odin I believe, search for dude saying how he rooted it using odin...i dont think there is another way to root it

Google "super one click"
Very easy.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda premium
with super on click it gets stuck
I installed corn kernel 7.0A. It's similar to stock kernel but has voodoo sound, ext4, and rooting capabilities. All accessible from the recovery reboot menu. Very easy.
The kernel is flashed with odin.

really dnt think there is a super one click for captivates running 2.3.5... yet.
SuperOneClickv2.3.1-ShortFuse does work for kk4, i can personally testify. it takes quite a long while to complete though, some number of minutes. i usually take a break at that point and go read some random article or something like that to pass time, but when i check back on it later its done and i have su fully working.

Start small and slow, it's really hard to mess things up. The more you do the more you'll learn.

[Q] Official Gingerbread 2.3.6 to Froyo 2.2.1 Need Help!

I have the Infuse and I just upgraded to Gingerbread 2.3.6 using kies mini and the update from samsung. Upon downloading it and using it for a few days I absoutely hate it and would like to go back to Froyo 2.2.1. I have searched and searched through thread after thread and I have found no solution to this problem due to the fact that you can not root the official Gingerbread 2.3.6 and seems like this is a common problem with no real answer. I have an idea and im no expert but thats why I am here for the help. My girl also has an Infuse and she is still running the Froyo. My question to all of you is there a way to use her phone with the original Froyo OS and transfer it to My Infuse with Gingerbread OS or does anyone know of a solution to the rooting problem with 2.3.6? Thanks for your time.
Read this thread and choose the method best suited for you. Personally, I have always found that Odin is easier to use.

I have watched and followed a few YouTube videos and receive the same result but like I said I'm willing to give it another go lol

Were you able to get this to work?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Thanks so much for the help I kind of feel dumb now. I figured out the reason Odin couldn't recognize my device was because of the USB cable. I switched the cable and bam it worked... thanks for taking the time to guide me in the right direction.

How do you not like gingerbread? Copy and paste. Smoother. More options. More apps work. Etc...
If you hate gingerbread don't go to jellybean they really rearrange the buttons on top of the new features.
Gingerbread made my lock screen not work properly and some of the features I didn't like so I'm running 4.0.4 and so far I love it.

There is one method in the android development section it has been there for months and it's the first post. There are to others that have been updated since it was posted last year also in the android development section. Lastly all the methods work you just have to CAREFULLY follow directions.
Yes its hard yo find all the tight files I have Odin 307 I think do you know if that will work with the files?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yes it will work.
Is it beanstwon method that you are referring to?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yes it doesn't require Odin. It is just a one click method.
Oh OK I read a lot of the comments and they are positive feedback but as I watched on this guy on YouTube his comment section are loaded with this "messed up my phone" or "don't do this this doesn't work" very little comments that said this worked for me. If this doesn't work on the first try I understand using another USB port on the computer is an option and using a different cord other than the one Samsung gives you is also an option. Is there anything to know about before doing this? This phone s my daily driver and I really don't want to have to use a prepaid phone.
And Should I also download the stock ROM not rooted before doing in case it does like some kind of soft brick?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Well I have never tried the one click method as I use Odin to root my phone. So get the stock roms as backup in case you run into problems with casual.
OK thank you so much for the advice and I'll shall let you know what happens.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
One more question before I do this. Will I still be able to get back to stock like usual if its a hard brick?

If you hard brick your phone you send it to jtag and pay them to get it fixed because nothing else works.
If you are feeling squeamish about the whole thing then it is probably a better idea not to do it.

Just thought you might like to know that I just used CASUAL this morning to root my galaxy s3 on Verizon build VRBMF1 with no problem. CASUAL unlocks the bootloader and installs TWRP which I like so far. Just make sure you grab the right download and if it doesn't work the first time try again with a different mirror. There's a version of it floating around out there that for some reason wouldn't work with my drivers.
Hope this helps ease your mind a little. Oh btw I probably read 1000 posts about rooting and the best method and someone claims to have bricked their with every single one of them. It's a risk we take.
