[Q] Most popular font changing app? - Android Apps and Games

What is the consensus of the group for the best/most popular app for changing system fonts? I would prefer an app rather than adb commands. Unsure if it matters, but i have a fully rooted and (CM7 nightly) rommed Nexus One...
thanks....

Try "font changer" you can find it in the market - but i'm not sure if it works with cm7. But font changer works fine on cm6.1.1

I just flash mine I will be trying out font changer though...

typefresh! its on the market, you can flash any TTF fonts you want!

absolute system tools you can change your font and your boot animation as well as edit build and sq lite very handy app

I absolutely hate system tools interface... i bought it and refunded it immediately. Looks like a powerful app tho.

Changing System Fonts?

Coming from a galaxy s phone, the one thing I enjoyed was being able to use flip font or flash font .zip files through cwm. Any chance this can happen on the g2x? (Once cwm is stable that is)
font changer worked for me. it's a root app though.

Fonts for CM7 Thunderbolt?

Were can I get fonts for CM7? How do I install them? Im being told font changer but ppl are also saying dont use it. Is there a metamorph mod for font or a flashable zip in recovery? I want sony sketch font. Please help.
thanks
BUMP......
I've never had any issues with Font Changer or Custom Font Switcher.
Right now I use Absolute System Root Tools and love it. It's a paid app but has a bunch of features including a boot animation changer and font changer.
JRummy has a paid apps just like it in the market also. I think it's just called Root Tools or Root Toolkit.
Hope I helped.

Yea its a full rom but the point is, the video shows nothing but Go Launcher, and some extra free ram space What does this rom add to the user experience?

Thats the same thing I would like to know.
it looks good, seems like made a lot of tweak. Just like the previous said, the video were showing the review of go launcher ex instead of the importance (like the benchmark). quick response might due to the clean setup.
Anyway i would download it and have a try. thx for sharing cezzarmicu
Hello
I'm am the one who has putted it avaiable.
It's a full rom! The video shows the Launcher, but shows also the avaiable memory of the phone after the first boot!
It isn't on XDA developer because i need to reply to 10 post to be able to post on Development Section!
The rom is very stable, fast and smooth!
My best regards!

This font looks like Sony Sketch EF, it´s also my preferred Android font. Download the ROM and get the font in /system/fonts inside the ZIP. It´s easy to install, and there are lots of threads here and in other forums explaining how to replace Android fonts.
Basically, you need to have the device rooted, and remount /system as writable (adb remount should do it). Then replace DroidSans.ttf, DroidSans-Bold.ttf and DroidSansMono.ttf with the font of your choice in /system/fonts, and reboot. Replace also Clockopia.ttf to change lockscreen clock font.
To make things easier, download Font Changer at Market and follow the instructions.
V1.2

How to change font in hox?

Iam looking to change the font using font installer, it doesn't change the fonts in the settings menu, fonts in all other places were changed. Any suggestions or alternative font changer available which completely changes fonts everywhere?

root and mod it out lol....this device is a masterpiece one set up right lol...
Since fonts are stored in the system files of the device there is no way to change them without root because no app will be able to write to or access the font folder with out super user permissions. So root away and enjoy your phone to its fullest potential
Edit
Also you can't selectively choose which parts of the os fonts change it's really all or nothing

Install New Fonts to read books / without Root

I am trying to add more fonts, popular microsoft word fonts, and read books with those fonts. I use fbreader app for reading books and the font choice is very limited as is. Can anyone show how to add fonts without rooting the device? Galaxy tab 2 7 Android ice cream sandwich
Decompile the fbreader.apk , change fonts.( Thats if it uses a custom font and is included in the .apk) Recompile / sign , Push to device.

Why not just root and use a custom App to change fonts ( ROM ToolBox Pro for example)? Much easier IMO , but up to you as its your device
Read the link below , VERY cool app and most of us have used it and had no problems. Makes your device all "new" in case of warranty issues.

Edit : Is it a free App ? Post a link and I will see if the fonts can be changed

Thanks Sean....Is what a free App?
I heard that fbreader uses whatever fonts thats already on the system?
Sorry I meant is fbreader a free app. Tried to download it via the play store and it says its incompatible with my tab ? SGT2 3110.
Pretty sure you will need root access to alter font settings. If it was in the fbreader.apk I could change them to what ever you wanted. If it uses stock fonts , You would have to change the system font it uses ( just swap the fonts over keeping the same font name so they are referenced in the system )and that would be a system wide change, kinda gets tricky messing with stuff, fun....but tricky
You could , If you had root , decompile system./framework apks and reference new fonts to use. You will need some tools to do this ( All free ) and some knowledge of editing .xml with something like notepad++.
lol Sometimes the easiest way is the best way .......
Can I use my own fonts with FBReader?
Yes. Put your *.ttf and/or *.otf files into Fonts directory on the memory card. Then new fonts will be available in Text section of the preferences dialog.
