I keep getting a continuous error message saying "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" It keeps happening repeatedly without giving me a chance to type anything. Could there be something I did wrong? Please help

towards the bottom you'll find this:
FRESH install guide - coming from a different ROM? your current MIUI setup laggy and you want to start fresh? Follow these steps.
1. Boot into recovery
2. Flash this file:http://www.mediafire.com/?ikylelx99c49133 - this is Calkulin's format all. It will wipe everything for you including /system, which normal data wipes skip (they only wipe /data and /cache)
3. Flash latest build of MIUI in SAME RECOVERY SESSION - do not reboot after flashing the format_all.zip
4.Reboot
5. If using titanium backup to restore settings/apps, DO NOT restore system settings - only apps and app data.
Also, I use Mybackup-root as well as TitaniumBackup. Find them in the market, it helps save app-data and message data as well.

Good morrning everybody.
Yesterday I tried to flash the circle battery found in ROM Manager into my Android 2.2 system. Clockwork Recovery suggested to run a backup, which I naturally did, and then it started to flash the battery into the system.
Until that point it worked fine and never returned an error or something else, but after the first reboot, the battery was properly replaced but nearly every app installed in my android crashes (googlemail, sms, phone, launcher pro, and so on) and my phone went into a boot loop.
Trying to restore my system with the Clockwork recovery manager also didn't work as it should, so I had to perform a full factory reset. (By the way, I got the same boot loop after trying to deinstall crapware via titanium backup)
My phone is a o2 - branded HTC Desire with Froyo, HBOOT-093.0001 and was rooted by unrevoked (S-ON).
Does anyone have an idea about that problem and know a solution? thanks in advance ;-)
cheers
PS: please forgive my when i wrote nonsense, it's 6 o'clock in the morning
Okay, I played a little bit around with my mobile phone and i figured something.
I made it to activate the plane mode before my phone decided to reboot again, so I managed to break this loop.
Now "only" "RSS-Reader, MMS, NewsReader, the Google Mail App, the "Google-Services-Framework (Prozess com.google.process.gapps)" and the Sense-Launcher crashes (maybe because I've a Mail shortcut or something on the screens, I don't know it exactly (using LauncherPro+)
I also read that flashing could set the ringtones to NULL (for the guys who aren't that deep into informatics: NULL = nothing; but NULL is not the number "0" (null-pointer-exception). I took a look into my settings but there are definitively ring tones set but unfortunately I can't take a look into my GMail app due to these crashes.

Try using Advanced -> Fix Permissions in CWM. It is supposed to help with FCs

I had a similar issues on CM7 while the wrong gapps version was flashed :S
Hey guys, thanks for your reply.
@frosty_ice: from the CWM recovery menu (power + "vol-") I've only the options of
- reboot recovery
- wipe dalvik cache
- wipe battery stats
- report error
- key test
- restart adbd
- process dump
which are listed at "advanced"
When I select "fix permissions" in ROM Manager, it throws the error "Error while executing privileged commands" (translated from german, I don't know the original sentence)
I'm using ROM Manager v4.1.0.0
@metalron: I did not flashed any version of gapps, I only flashed the circle battery "SuperCircle Battery v.B" found at "Pinkolin - Pinky Desire". Does this automaticly flash other components into my system?

I think thats your issues, as far as I know you need gapps, that too the right version although most apps can be downloaded via market but then you need market and for some odd reason not flashing gapps or flashing the wrong one put me in a boot loop.. so im guessing its the same for you.

I have an LG Optimus V (Virgin Mobile) with 2.3.3 Gingerbread with aospcmod-ov-20110415-signed.zip running before becoming stuck in Android System Recovery. It happened when I tried updating the rom to aospcmod-ov-20110427. I had the proper gapps and follwed the flashing rom instructions from romrepo wiki. After that we lost clockworkmod recovery 3.0.0.6 . We then installed clockworkmod recovery 3.0.2.8 because it was the only one that would reinstall and it was recommended. Once it was installed no files from the sd card could be accessed so I removed clockworkmod recovery 3.0.2.8 . Once we removed cwm recovery 3.0.2.8 I was faced with the blue fastboot screen. To get out of the blue fastboot screen I had to use vm fastboot root. Once I did that I was able to go thru the full process of 1. Move all files you intend to flash to the root of your sd card (ex. aospCmod.zip, GAPPS.zip, kernel (optional)).
2. First you need to wipe/format your phone, in clockwork recovery: Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition. Under Partitions menu (or Mounts & Storage in 3.0.0.6) in recovery: Format boot, system, data, cache. Under advanced: wipe Dalvik Cache.
3. Flash in this order:
A. AospCmod
B. GAPPS
C. Kernel (optional).
4. Reboot System
5. NOTE: On Optimus V when first logging in, if you click "Sign In" it will ask you to slide of your keyboard. Just go back and press "Skip." You can sign into your Accounts later in settings.
All of the processed went thru successfully and went to reboot and it rebooted back to Android System Recovery. I have checked my steps and tried this process continually but it keeps looping me back to Android System Recovery instead of loading the Rom.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. You can email me at [email protected]
Hey everyone. I'm new to the whole Android Rooting deal. So basically, I followed the tutorial on this website to install Bumblee 2.4 on my Lg Optimus V.
Recommended install order:
Backup current apps and their data with Titanium Backup (available in the Market).
Do a nandroid backup in recovery before doing anything else below.
Required if installing BB 2.x for the first time: Wipe. Wipe it all. Data, cache, system, dalvik-cache, sd-ext if you've got it (might need to look under Advanced or Mounts in recovery to do the last two, and while you're there format /system). If upgrading from BB 2.3, wipe cache (and only cache) in recovery.
If not upgrading from 2.3, install Wiper zip (see below), just to be extra sure that all is wiped. Don't reboot yet.
Install ROM zip (see below).
Optional. If you need the non-overclocked kernel (see below), install it now before rebooting.
Boot into the ROM. w00t!
Download any desired gapps from the Market (Gmail, Maps, Street View, YouTube).
Restore apps with Titanium Backup (not necessary if upgrading, all apps should remain). Do not restore system settings, wifi settings, or anything else except user-installed apps and their data. If you have any issues after restoring apps, launchers and possibly other root or system-related apps may need to be uninstalled and re-installed.

The installation was a success. And when my phone booted, the home button seems to not work. And I wasn't prompted to make a Google account, therefore its not letting me open up the market. I need help fixing this.
Ideally I'd like to post this in the appropriate ROM threat, but as I've only just signed up, I only have limited access.
Rather than keep this info to myself, I thought this may be useful to others out there....
Original ROM thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2303239
Updating from 3.3 to 3.4 required quite a bit of reading and making notes to minimise the chance of having problems.
These were the steps I took for a successful install...
Pre Update
Backup backup backup!
Titanium backup, SMS Backup+, Whatsapp, Google contacts, etc...
ROM Update
Download Rom and copy to phone memory
Reboot in Recovery
Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
Wipe data if coming from another Rom (optional)
Select Zip and install / Flash Rom
Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
Ignore message to fix Root and Recovery
Boot and configure
Modem Update
Update the modem to either: MKE or MJ8
Download from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025
Reboot in download mode
Use Odin v3.04
Load MODEM
Click Start - Flash modem
Reboot once again into Download Mode using (Vol Down plus Home button combination)
Flash Modem once more (You might need to install it twice for it to work.)
Once done, unplug then reboot device manually.
If this doesn't work, try repeating the flash process again while rebooting manually and with auto-reboot option turned off.

Problems: Phone freezes and sometimes reboots / Slow motion causes reboot
FAUX kernel solve the problems.
Use this and choose the kernel you like to flash.

Post Update
Following the above steps, I was able to successfully keep almost all the data and settings.
The additional main things I needed to do were:
- Reactivate/install Xposed Installer if you were previously using this.
- SMS Backup+ for restoring text messages.
Other Apps Installed
Having just moved over from an iPhone, these are a few apps I found useful:
NiLS notification - I use the widget on first page after unlocking
DigiCal - Calendar app and Weekly Agenda widget
Google Keep - For notes
Tasks: Astrid To-Do List Clone - My task list with repeat reminders
Problems (?)
Nothing major so far. Battery life has been great!
The only thing I would like to do is work out how to change/disable the default call screen image
Thank you for an amazing ROM! I look forward to the next update.
I hope you've found this useful... and if anyone has any tips/advise, please share!
Hi/Hello XDA's members.
So you got an error like com.android.process.media or com.android.process.acore has stopped and it keeps popping up on your screen from time to time and it gets so irritating. So here's an alternative way to fix a system error without losing your user data.
Note: I made this thread for An alternative way to factory reset and at at the same time to fix those errors.
Things we need:
*ROOT*
Titanium backup (with complete backup of your user and system apps)
A backup of your contacts, calendar, accounts etc.. (Everything you need) (Not made by Titanium, As you might restore the data that cause the system error com.android.process.acore has stopped.)
Understanding..
READ THE WHOLE POST BEFORE PROCEEDING!
Note: I'm not responsilbe for any data loss or if you messed up your phone. This is just an alternative way to fix your system errors without losing user data.
Let's get started:
Step 1) Make sure you have seperate backup of your contacts, calendar, etc. (Once again, Not backup of Titanium.)
Step 2) Open Titanium Backup and wait for it to load everything. Once done, proceed to step 3.
Step 3) Click the search button then click filter button.
Step 4) Untick User and Uninstall then click check button at the top right corner.
Step 5) Click Backup/Restore. Check if all listed apps are system apps (by default you'll see Green, Red, Yellow name of apps which means they are system apps and/or part of the system)
Step 6) Go to Batch Actions (Click the box with check icon at the top right corner.)
Step 7) Scroll Down to "Manipulate data" section.
Step 8 ) Click "Wipe data for user & system apps" (Don't forget to wipe dalvik cache if you need to.)
Step 9) Reboot
Step 10) Restore the data of your contacts, calendar, accounts, etc. (Everything you need) From the backup you made from other backup utilities. (Not made by Titanium Backup)
Note: You may only restore your system data from Titanium Backup if you don't encounter error like com.android.process.xxxxxxx has stopped.
That's all.
If this post helped you, don't forget to Hit my thanks button.
I'm definitely trying out this method. I'm so annoyed by the fc of systemui.

Try wiping the data of system UI and do some workaround. It's pretty easy to solve but still, depends on the situation.

Newbie "XDA" here
I change my phone original bootanimation and then i get No Command when i factor reset .. Nothing Happend how do just restore my (/system) /system/media bootanimation.zip
After my experiment of trying out Beta 3 of Android Q failed apocaliptical I tried to restore the backup I made minutes before. But no matter what I do, I keep getting:
- bootloops (straight rebooting after showing the unlocked bootloader warning)
- restart into recovery
- Oxygen OS loading animation stuck and animation being very slow
- not getting it anymore but had it yesterday in the early stages of my disaster management: Qualcomm Crash POST
Despite that the backup was generated succesfully (at least thats what TWRP said)
I tried almost every guide out there.
- switching to rm -rf
- restoring only data, only boot, only system and a mix of those
- flashing the OTA before restoring backup
- uninstalling magisk und reinstallating magisk (with and without separate reboots)
-multiple wipes of single partitions and data formatting
The only good thing is that I don't get the 255 error anymore I had at the beginng, allthough I don't really know anymore how I did it.
At the end I am only able to restore everything with the MSNTOOL out there.
Is there any golden hint to get the data the be restored? The backup of /data is critical as there my authenticator and banking data are in there.
Thank you in advance
Edit: As I am slowly getting fed up with OnePlus and the problems (proximity sensor, adaptive brightness, whatspps microphone, twrp issues, lacking tech guides if at all) I thought about migrating to Pixel 5. Is it possible to migrate the data partition? Or are all backup partitions strictily device specific?

I did just exactly that on stock 10.0.0.11 to no avail, the TWRP restore went through fine but upon system reboot the phone stayed on the bootloader unlocked warning for about two minutes, then it rebooted straight into stock recovery.
It's beyond my understanding yet how the user data partition can cause the whole system to effing die.
My only hunch is that it has something to do with Magisk I had installed during the backup (encryption was disabled btw). But as I said I already tried running Magisk installer and uninstaller on different occasions with the same result. Also the only thing that should happen is that after restore and reboot the phone should tell me that Magisk isn't installed anymore.
Edit: So for now I reverted to full stock 10.0.11 and for the sake of experimenting I made a backup with system, boot and data of this stock rom and restored it succesfully. When I restore my actual data backup I get the same old restart and then it throws me back into TWRP. Is there any log I can check to see what's happening there?
Sorry for double post, but I think this might be very interesting for people with a similar problem as this seems to be very common with OnePlus phones.
So I found a very dirty and hacky way to get a least my most importants app running in the state they had during my backup I was trying to restore. Here's what I did, without any guarantee it might work for you or be stable in the end.
Code:
1. Revert the phone to a clean stock rom and update to the latest stable version (at the time of writing 10.0.11), it should be fully factory reset, aka like new. I am not sure but it may be necessary that you install the apps you want to restore first since the I am not sure the partition we use later contains the app AND the data too.
2. Unlock bootloader and flash latest TWRP, may it be official or mauronofio's
3. Make a backup of that current stock data partition
4. Restore data partition from your actual needed twrp backup (if it ends with 255, try to format data partition before in TWRP)
5. With the TWRP file manager navigate to the /data/data folder and copy everything to an external storage (I chose USB)
6. Restore the stock data partition
7. Now again with the TWRP file manager navigate to the /data/data folder on your external storage (should be /usbstorage) and search for the apps you need to restore (probably banking apps, authenticator, etc.), the name will be something like com.google.authenticator2.
8. Copy the folder of any needed app into the /data/data folder on your phone. Best you do it one by one just to make sure.
Now you can reboot to system. The apps should be fully restored. In my case it worked with Google Authenticator, Blizzard Authenticator, Consorbank Secure Plus (shows undefined error yet), Hue Pro. Maybe I will try more.
Edit: Consorsbank Secure Plus as you might guess is a tan generation banking app. When entering the pin when opening the app it shows "An error has occured". Dunno why, maybe a security checksum error or something. I found com.android.keychain and copied for the sake of trying too but it didn't help.
