I just wanted to inform those who did not know or test this, but CyanogenMod 6.1 works with Wii Controller IME. I just finished playing Kirby on Gameboid.
My apologies if anyone has recently posted about this, I just got over excited and wanted to share.
You Need:
CM 6.1
Wii Controller IME
Wii Controller
Happiness and a child within you to play the classics
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=950721 Video of me using it somewhere in this post.... The first post to be exact since I started that thread to... lol
Now we just HDMI out....

Nice! Hopefully, and presumably this will work with CM7 whenever it comes out because it uses a different Bluetooth stack?
You should make a youtube video showing it off I NEED THIS! lol
Wow lol thats pretty cool
Ok... so now I will have to play with porting the cm bt stack to cog.

dg messed with bluetooth stacks a while back and every time reverted back to the samsung stack.
cyanogen is good but as far as i can tell has problems on galaxy s phones. cm7 should be better and i believe there is a port out there somewhere of a cm7 beta
The steps to installing that port are ridiculous though, will wait till they have a stable version out.........probably 2012, yeah i can complain.......i know its not easy and they arent being paid........just takin so long because no one wants to do it....and i dont blame them lol. Still someone should post a video about being able to use Wiimote with Cyanogen on Cappy.........will probably be featured on android central or Engadget........its big news since there isn't a video showing it off at all
Hmm
The steps for me are as follows:
Flash to stock
Flash reoriented kernel 3.5
Flash CM 6.1 BETA 3
if rebooting occurs then reflash the kernel
then all is well
And would you guys like me to upload a video of it working?

a video would be great...
it may re-spark some interest in getting this to work for other roms.

Please reply with any rom from the Galaxy I9000 forum, that you would like to see for the Captivate.
I will either directly port it or I will make a Rom that is almost exactly like it.
I will even take sudgested ideas for a Rom, that I should make.
Just leave you answers below and I will make your wishes come true!

DENAVIL ROM plz, been waiting for a port for some time now... would love it!
You are talking about a real port then? Not just adding glitterball, setiron, xcaliburinhand kernel to an existing rom and calling it ported. We already know how to do that here so you must be ready to tackle something incredible. JI6, that is the only captivate froyo that has ever appeared. Lets see you get it working properly.
Here is what I propose:
1. Bluetooth hardware works properly on ji6 regarding the hardware filter AT&T added. What doesn't work is voice dialing, get that working and we will have near Nirvana in the bluetooth area.
2. reverse engineer the kernel on this (we have no source code) so we can have OC/UV.
3. Add HDSPA support to JI6.
4. Theme the whole thing using Dena's unpublished (except for her ROM) Androdena aurora.
5. Fix the camera app so that the power button can be used to snap a picture.
6. GPS as accurate as di11igaph 3.0 or DG's perception

Great minds think alike. Been running Denavil since it came out using glitterball kernel.
1. download and install Denavill using CWM
2. Install kernel of your choosing (xcaliburinhand and glitterball recommended)
3. install jk4 modem
4. install alternate web browser from DOCS's JPY op.
pretty much works perfectly...
ive been running darkys rom and have been using hardcores kernal, i never thought about trying it with denavil rom... im gonna have to play now lol

Go ahead and have fun with it, customizing is the most fun when it comes to i9000 roms. Me, I personally have mine customized with tons of live wallpapers (fascinate, droid x, sgs, captivate). Anyhow, good talking to you before this thread gets closed and moved...
Locked, Problem Resolved
Hows the experience on the Inspire? Any issues?
Just wanted to find out if its worth going through the process. It seems a little more involving than other rom installations.
Works great. Sound sucks. I missed the nicer camera app so I switched back to stock rooted oc
Ill hold off for now then till the sound is fixed. Thanks
The tinny sound may be fixed by Turbonium if his thread is right. I will be testing it tomorrow.
Other than that I love it.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
There is nothing like CM. Smoother than anything and fast. I just applied the sound fix and its as close to stock sound as I can remember. I forsee that fix being cooked into all Inspire kernels moving forward.
Which version would be the best to use? I think theres like 2 or 3 plus the nightlies?
I'm using the nightly #7 and it rocks, though there is no support on nightlies (can't file bugs), they seem to be as reliable as a stable build. If this doesn't convince you, RC 1 is also available which works just as good. BTW sound has been fixed here, I just tried it and it works as stated. The only thing I miss from a Sense based ROM is the Connected Media app to be able to watch videos on my HDTV and the Camera app, but I can live with CM7 without those apps.
I'm using RC1 and it's amazing.

I got the buggered cwm from another rom and almost didn't bother fixing it to get cm7.
glad I did. After flashing the latest nightly and the sound fix this is with out a doubt the best rom I've used and in general the best android platform I've used. Snappy, smooth, and as a galaxy s defector GPS and everything else simply works. Hard to believe this is an unfinished rom as its still in RC status. The guys building this thing obviously know wtf they are doing.
I recommended any one who has an inspire flash this ROM.
Sent from Inspire 4g CM7 nightly 8.
I second this. I have no clue as to why it would be called RC if it feels like premium quality software.
I flashed it a couple hours ago.Im gonna give it more time but I really want to go back to Coredroid. It feels about the same on the speed and smooth factor but without the sense I kinda feel like I was back on my captivate.Sense has me sold I think.
I see a lot of posts here about CM 7, so are people just flashing CM 7 that's for the Desire HD or is it one specifically for the Inspire? Just wondering because I ordered an Atrix and I don't see as much development going on for it when compared to the development for the Inspire. But maybe that has to do with the locked boatloader. I'm going to test it and out for a day or two and if it's not up to my standards, I'm going to exchange it for the Inspire.

The Desire HD one, I am using Nightly 8 with TurboniumX's audio fix. Works like a champ.

search "twonky mobile" in the market place. It will let you beam stuff from your phone to the a dlna\upnp tv or other device (ps3\xbox etc).
I'm searching or trying to understand if there is a way to enable a six axis ps3 controller to be used as IME (for emulation games), i've read somwhere that the INFUSE needed to have CYANOGEN but at this time, CYANOGEN isn't completely ready, i am running Infused v1.5.3 i'm hesitant to go to v2 beta 2.0+ didn't see any reviews or difference compared to 1.5.3 it's already stable as it is. Can somebody confirmed these statements or give me and idea how to get this started? Thanks i LOVE XDA on always checking for new updates and info.
Thanks in advance for any response!!!
Sorry man, its samsungs Bluetooth stack that prevents this and the only way to get Google bt stack is vannilla rom's such as cyanogenmod

i would like to find a way to make this stuff work....that blueputdroid stuff just doesnt like samsung. im guessing for the reasons the guy above said about the stacks.
but this would be a good look.
Doesn't work on any Samsung -derived rom. Worked briefly on our CM7 build, but bluetooth broke GPS and battery life. Bozo and I are gonna try again to get BT in a week or two.

Hi
Since I'm a new user I can't post in the development forum, so imma ask here.
I have been following this thread for a long time:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1293751
And I'm having a hard time finding a list of known issues for each ROM. I've been looking everywhere but still can't find if BT, HDMI output and 30fps video (just to name a few) are working with the ROMs that are listed in the thread.
I'm more interested in the Compiled CM7 for Infuse and MIUI for Infuse, but they only redirect to the CyanogenMod website and/or give half-answers.
Can anybody help?
Nope none of it works on CM7 or MIUI.
Bt and Hdmi will work when the source codes for gb come out for our phone. Hopefully soon since the last leak came out like last month and was pretty solid.
Not all that sure with the fps issue.
Sent from my SGH-I997
Thanks for clearing that one out for me.
Do you know if we'll be able to port CM9 to the Infuse once the source codes do leak? Or is this not compatible/irrelevant?
Bluetooth isn't waiting on source code, cyanogen mod uses a different Bluetooth stack than Samsung roms, the only thing that will fix Bluetooth is to find a competent developer who had the time, skill, and motivation to get the call audio working over Bluetooth.
So far we have all three, but not all in one developer
the current cm7 compile is otherwise working really well. as kies mini just hit for the infuse you gotta think the full release is right behind it.
Crossing our fingers for source code soon, HDMI and getting our video support back would be nice on custom kernels. Stock kernel is killing my inner child
"the current cm7 compile is otherwise working really well" - so, no HDMI output and no Bluetooth? Otherwise, no problems? I might give it a shot then.
What about CM9? Anybody has a clue?

Kinda shocked that nobody mentioned this.. but this should not have been asked in the development thread to begin with... thanks for choosing the right thread........
As for finding their issues.. just read the threads.. I'd recommend checking out the one with Zeus in the title.. my resources tell me it's a pretty good one...

Hello all, so I have rooted and used a few roms on my phone, but went back to stock so the video recorder worked properly. But the camera issues have taken a back seat. I am a trucker and sit for hours at loading docks, so thought Id get some emulators, and a wii mote and classic controller.
First off my phone is on Rogers in Canada, model sgh-i997R, firmware 2.3.3, kernal 2.6.35.7-i997ruxkg3-cl366622, build number gingerbread.uxkg3
My questions are : Seems the last last OS to support wiimotes is 4.1.2. Am I correct in this?
Through searching, I have found these roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859208&highlight=+4+1+2 which seems dead with broken links.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1954527&highlight=+4+1+2 seems ok
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1874000&highlight=4+1+2&page=45 which is locked, and last posts are talking bout just barely getting it to boot, doesnt seem too stable.
Am I missing any? I realize its an older OS so my options may be limited.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Edit: Also going to install a Tab 2 into my car, and will be using phone to tether it to for wifi, so good tethering capabilities is also important in a rom. Any suggestions?

Because from what I am reading, the last OS version to support a wiimote is 4.1.2
4.2 and higher no longer works with a wiimote. I have froyo now but it doesnt support it either. Something about samsungs bluetooth stack doesnt let it connect.

I'd say flash 4.2.2 and try it out for yourself. If it doesn't work, it isn't hard at all to flash back to 4.1..
