HTC Legend takes for rings to actually ring - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I've found that when I call my android phone, the caller hears three or four rings before the phone actually starts ringing.
It's not even showing that a call is coming through so it's not a ringtone problem.
Phone is an HTC legend with Froyo, and not many applications on it at all.
Has anyone had this before?

Takes 4 Seconds for my phone to start ringing

I ran a test to see how long it takes for my phone to actually start ringing.
And it took at the least 4 seconds to start ringing, by this time the caller has heard the ring in his ear for about 5 rings.
Does anybody know how this can be fixed or to be made faster?
What ring setting have you got ? Vibrate and then ring ?

If i remember right the easiest solution is to convert your MP3 ringtone to a .wav file.

That is also in my case.
But... once I had a longer period. I checked the taskmanager and a lot of software was loaded. Maybe a program was too busy.
Then I tested again and loaded a bunch of programs and each time the phone was like above: 1e ring blinking and second ringing.
Of course it is possible that, while calling from the same number, the mp3/wav is already in memory, speeding up the process.
So, after a soft reset, it should take more time.
Did not have time to check that.

P.s.
My problem is: I keep loosing my ringtones now and then after synching with my PC's

Thanks, I will take a look at running apps and try and see what factors would cause delays like this.
I disabled the touch pro themed dial keypad using advanced configuration tool. The phone rang a bit more quickly using windows mobile default keypad.
Ok so I uninstalled CommPro and it seemed to be much quicker now. It get the ringtone after the second ring.
Thanx

Xperia X10 Ringer Stops

This is my problem
say A calls me and I couldn't pick up so the phone rings then directs A to my voice mail
so then A calls me again
this time the led would flash, the screen would show that A is calling, but the ringer would not ring.
The ringer on my phone is always on the highest ringer and I tested it out and I am still getting the same results.
Does anyone else has the same issue??
That is what exactly happen to me, i don't have a voice box (since roger is expensive)
But i notice if i do miss the first call (being forward or not) the second call will never rings.
As long the second call is the same person as first call.
I think it is a call blocking system so you don't get rings everytime the same person multi-call you within a time frame
ii thanks I thought that I was the only one or something
yeh rogers is bloody expensive, also you any suggestions to fix this
and thanks
I suggest you make a super ringtone with max sound. So you don't miss the first call. Or
simply write a android program that calls you back on missing calls.

[Q] Setting for non-repeating ringtones?

Hi @all,
long ago in times where Nokia was the leading company which sold the most phones their phones had a setting for a single tone notification for an incoming call. My latest phone (ulefone metal with Android N) has a weak vibration, so i'm missing calls from time to time. But i don't want to have a long running, loud ringtone, because when i'm not at my desk, but my phone is still there, i don't want that my colleagues will be disturbed by a ringtone which runs a minute or so.
I found an audiofile with a single beep, which i can use as ringtone, but this beep will always repeated as long as the caller doesn't give up. This is even more annoying than a standard ringtone. So now my question is: How can i set up the phone that this audiofile is played only once and not repeatedly? This works for notifications, but not for calls. I'm searching for such a functionality in modern phones all the time since the Nokia-times, but didn't find it. Anybody out there knows such a setting for android phones?
As a workaround i could create an audiofile with a single beep and 5 minutes of silence, but this is stupid
Thanks, jennix

Issue with incoming calls from the caller audio side: first seconds noise

Weird problem, I can't find a solution.
When answering a call, tge caller does not hear my voice in the first few seconds, but voice (generally Hello) comes out like noise. Then after a few seconds all goes back to normal
This does not hsppen when calling directly, and even stranger, it does not happen if I mute the ringtone. In this case my voice is cristal clear right grom the beginning.
Os in Android 7.0, kernel 4.1.18-gaa01840 model number nxt-l29.

Phone ring tone is nothing after certain callers from sales calls.

Rebooting clears the problem. Almost every day I find my phone with no ring tone. In settings, sound Phone ringtone any ringtone I select is silent. Incoming calls are hung up by this caller who keeps changing the number. I have hundreds of blocked calls I've added to call blocker. I use DW Contacts and Phone and Calls Blacklist Pro. I tried running without each of these and still happens. What can mute the Phone Ringtone? Is there a setting that will turn it back on without rebooting? Running AEX AOSP Extended Oreo.
