So, Ive developed and released a nice little app called SMS Forwarder (yes its free and yes its out on the market).
SMS Forwarder is a simple but smart application that will let you forward incoming text messages to another number and/or an email address. Maybe you want to read your text messages on your computer through email, maybe you have two phones and what to keep up to date on new SMS or maybe you want to make sure no one is harassing your kids.
More features are being planned but in order to see if my server can handle the traffic Im going easy to begin with!
Please give the app a go, rate it and leave a feedback.
Ive recently updated it with more customization settings and some tweaks here and there.. Im also planning on making it possible to reply to emails in order to reply to the SMS (would make replying to SMS a lot easier imho )
Thanks

Made an appsite for it here
Just a little update!
Been developing this app over several months now and the functionality of both the free and PRO versions are getting pretty good. I would greatly appreciate any feedback on it.
I use it myself while I'm at work where I dont have access to my phone. Works well for me!
Hi guys,
New to this forum, wanted to share this app I wrote to get rid of spam sms. I dont know about other countries but its a big menace here in India. This is a very simple app, wrote over a weekend, totally free and has no adds or any such nags. Hoping this would be helpful to someone. Comments and suggestions welcome.
Features:
1. Block sms if sender is not in contacts.
2. Block duplicate sms.
3. Add sender to “Allowed List”.
4. Optional status bar notification.
5. Restore blocked sms to inbox.
6. Automatic & manual deletion of collected spam.

I don't really have much use for it at the moment, but it looks great, and is a good idea.
I'm sure it will be useful for a few people.
Thanks mystichobo
Rather than block all unknown texts, is it possible to add a number to the block list?
Yes, i was also thinking about adding this feature. I'll get it done and update here.
Many Thanks!
I just tried this app and it's fantastic!
Thanks so much to SunLikeStar for creating it!!
This app has no "permissions abuse" and does a perfect job!
Is the source code available? That would also be nice...
I'm very pleased... :^)
Hi All,
This is the first app that I have posted here for review. I had been looking around the market for an app that encrypts text messages and all of them were so cumbersome, requiring an extra step to encrypt and decrypt the messages. I wanted to make an app that looked and felt very similar to the standard messaging app.
It uses AES encryption and requires a password to get into the app as well as a separate password for each contact to encrypt/decrypt messages. All of the encryption and decryption is done automatically so it feels just like any other texting app.
I am not a designer so it has a very simple grayscale UI which I am kind of liking at the moment. Anyway, I would love to hear your guys' feedback on what it needs or would make it better.
Since I am so new, I am not allowed to post a link to it in the market but you can find it under the name PiraText made by Corgrimm Tech.
Thanks!
Good afternoon guys. I came across an interesting sms app yesterday and decided to give it a try. It's hello sms. I loved the design, simplicity and very easy to use. However I was really confused with some aspects of the app.
1). It says it's an sms app, but it's often compared to a messing app like whatsapp. I was able to send sms, but it says that it's free of charge if the other person has hello sms as well. So if the other person doesn't have it, what's the charge per sms? Would I see some type of fees on my Sprint phone bill? The developers don't provide much info and description on the play store. I tried to contact the developers by email twice and no damn response. If someone is using this app please share your experience. And wether or not it's free or costs money.
Thanks
Quite a few years ago I used a default emailing app that came with my phone. (Could've been Samsung Galaxy S3 or S4...can't remember). The thing I really enjoyed was the ability to set a time when you wanted an email to be sent.
I haven't found anything like it since so was hoping XDA folks could recommend an email app that allows me to have multiple accounts on the app and whereby I can choose the date and time those emails get sent.
(Currently using TypeApp on my Android phone but that doesn't have the ability to schedule sending).
Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried Boomerang before but it doesn't work for personal emails hosted on own domains. Seems that it only works with Gmail and Exchange type set ups.
Also, the fact that it is a separate app from Gmail defeats the purpose of using it with Gmail.
Having one app that I can do all my emails is the preferable route.

I searched for you and found others that also wanted it certain ways but in all cases they never found a solution, all they got was a suggestion to use boomerang.
You can probably try using google assistant or some other assistant type app along with your calender app or even Tasker to get this to work however choose. Other than those options, I don't know what else to say, maybe someone else has other suggestions.

Way back, I tried backing up that Samsung built-in email app and restoring it with Titanium Backup but I don't remember having any luck with going that route.
I use Handcent Next SMS as my go to app for sending texts because it can schedule sending e.g. yearly, monthly etc. Great for when you send someone a birthday text overseas and you're still sleeping. :good:
Now if only these SMS apps can figure out how old the person is from contact information and the message wished them a happy 39th birthday instead of just saying happy birthday.
I'm surprised there aren't a bunch of these scheduled type apps as it's so handy to schedule a message ahead of time e.g. for someone's birthday.

You could always try porting that app to work with what you have now or get someone else to do it.

I don't remember what phone it was on but could try and find out.
How would I go about porting the app to work or is there a forum to ask someone to do it.
If I remember correctly, I was rooted at that time so could hopefully copy the APK but not sure if there were any other linking files to copy with it.
Thanks.

I don't know what you need to port the app, I'm just saying it can be done if you prefer to use that app. Porting that app seems to be the most likely solution to what you're looking for. There doesn't seem to be any other options that will work in the manner you want or with just one app like you want.
