I have a Viewsonic Gtablet that I've flashed with the 4.2.2 TnT Lite package from here. Everything works great...except I'm having an audio problem. The other day, for the first time I plugged in headphones. The speakers stopped and the audio was dutifully routed to the headphones. However, upon unplugging the headphones, the built in speakers did not start working again. Plugged the headphones back in, sound. Unplugged the headphones, no sound.

I downloaded and tried the audio.apk package referenced in that thread which successfully restored sound to my built in speakers - at a price...the audio out jack no longer worked.
Given what I use the tablet for, built in and on demand headphone audio through the jack is a must have.
Thoughts on fixing this?

I hope I am posting in right section. When I stream audio from gtab to prius's Bluetooth multimedia, everything works as expected. However, after disconnecting from car's Bluetooth, sound doesn't come out from gtab's internal speakers. Turning off Bluetooth on grab doesn't help either. I tried different permutations and combinations of stopping music from grab and turning off Bluetooth before turning of car etc. I have to reboot in order to get audio from internal speakers. I had the same behavior with tnt lite 2.2 as well.
Could any one think of possible solution or work around?
plug in and then unplug your earphones. That should restore the speakers. Known hardware bug

Sorry for replying late but I got my hands on my wife's car only today. I confirm that inserting and removing headphones we restore volume from internal speakers
Kibana
Didn't fix me...
Unfortunately, this didn't fix my issue on my dinc w/ cm7
If I am receiving a call, the phone will sound the ring, but when I answer it the speaker go dead. When I try to play music, no sound is produced (although if I plug in headphones I find that it is playing). I think that problem is in headset jac cause while i was cleaning it, headphones were enabling and disabling automatically. Is it any software solution for my problem (app or script to turn off headphones auto plugging in)?
Sorry for my english
do u got any symbol in the notification bar if the headset or a pair of headphones are plugged? there are two different smybols for headset and for headphones.
if i got you right, there should be a prob with the female audio jack in the phone. it does not recognize what typ of headphones (headset or plain headphones) are plugged
Hi All,
After much searching for this simple request, how to enable Audio output to the headphone / 2.5mm audio jack and output to bluetooth speakers at the same time.
This is not a request how to get music to play on bluetooth mono headphones etc.
I am wanting to have my Nexus 5 plugged into the speakers and amp in one room, then also have my UE Boom in the next room playing audio via bluetooth.
As soon as I plug in the speakers via the jack, the bluetooth sound output is muted.
Going into Bluetooth settings and unticking music and then ticking music starts audio playing via bluetooth but stops audio via 2.5mm jack.
Any settings I need to know about? Apps or custom ROMs to do this simple feature.
Think of this as a keep playing to speakers when headphones are plugged in. Possible in Ubuntu, is it possible on Android?
Many Thanks,
Rob.

Just to bump the thread, as I know how fast paced the Nexus 5 forum is, and I have waited 10 days before re-asking.
Anyone with information that could help?
Many Thanks,
Rob.
This happens with ViperROM and LoliGPE so I do not think it's a ROM-specific issue.
My phone suddenly started to have this problem where after I have a phone call (call speaker) or use earphones, it does not switch back to those two dual speakers.
If it was a phone call, everything I play (videos, games) will now start outputting sound from the headset speaker.
If I used the AUX cable to other sound output devices (earphones, for example), the sound won't play until I plug it back.
What's interesting is that the device seem to still know that sound output has changed because "boomsound" is disabled and says something like "cannot disable boomsound as you're using internal speakers" on the sound settings.
I have no sound mod installed, and am currently using LoliGPE 5.1, S-OFF, rooted and unlocked.
For some reason my honor 8 stopped registering my headphones. I was listening to music one minute, pause it, then when I played it back it wouldn't play through the headphones. I've tried turning it off and on with no luck.
Have you tried the headphones with another device? The problem may be in the headphones themselves. I would also recommend trying another pair of headphones with your phone.
