I didn't see this posted anywhere else on the forums, so if it's a dupe I'm sorry.
Audible.com has released a beta version of their digital audiobook app to a select group. (of which I'm not one of, but found a link to the .apk)
If you're like me and have a nice library of audible books, then you are going to love this app. You sign into your library directly from the app and download straight to your SD card.
I'm running it just fine on my Nexus One with Cyanogen 5.0.5
Thanks to the poster at Alldroid.org for the link to the file.
(I'm a new poster, so it won't let me put a link to an outside website, so I just uploaded the .apk itself)
Enjoy!
Should not post APK's here to closed Beta's.
It's an open beta.

It seemed to be a closed beta.
I've been using Audible for a few days now on CM 5.0.7.1. It works well for the most part.. a little stuttering now and then. The books are pretty huge though, about 250 mb for 8 hours.. apparently they download in the highest quality available.
It is great to be able to use Audible again..
Wooo Hooooo..... :'( Sob
Saw this and was extatic for about 5 seconds, Only .com support atm. Darn it I wanna use my .co.uk account... strange the app does let me log in but doesn't show my library. Going to try and copy across one of my books manually and see what happens. I'll keep you posted
Nope seems that doesn't work either... :'(
Swype Beta for Android to release tomorrow
So, on the same day that I FINALLY get an official beta invite for the Swype beta, I read on Twitter that they are going to be releasing the public beta tomorrow. Here is the link:
http://techcrunch.com/2010/06/15/want-swype-yes-you-do-get-it-tomorrow-for-android-phones/
I wonder if it's the same beta that was just released a couple of days back? What does everyone think?
Probably the same but I hope it's better
ya but will this be a timed beta again?

They are saying that this one is not going to time out according to another source. I guess we will find out more details tomorrow.

Long press the input field, select input method from the context method, switch to Android Keyboard, then do this again and switch back to Swype.
Not yet. <(

Did you uninstall both the old installer and the program? Then download the new installer and apk? I recall that this process should be followed for the new version to work.
Just installed it, I think Swype is one of the best things on Android. Installed without any problems.
i registered late last night...got my invite about 10 minutes ago.
back up and running with swype. one of my favorite apps (and most useful) on my nexus.
Looks like it's up now. For anyone that doesn't have the beta already, now is the time to get it!
Can someone tell me if double tapping in portrait mode works to bring up the spell check box in this version?

I didnt have the old installer/apk as i just upgraded to a nexus one from a G1. however, I reinstalled it and it works now. Hard to decide whether I like swype or HTC IME better. I guess time will tell. If only HTC IME had multi touch, I'd be so happy!!
Re: Swype Beta for Android to release tomorrow
Double tapping doesn't work for me..i just installed the official beta and it's the same as the one I installed a couple of days back.

djeezes, even when using the keyboard to tap instead of swype it's better than the standard keyboard app. very nice.
is the site down or what?? wtf?
given that they're slashdotted but have opened it up, could use mod clarification on posting links..
epic fail. i think their servers are overloaded so they resetted everything. my account seems to be gone. can't register for a new acct.
Sorry, this is more fail than the Apple iPhone Pre-Order and yet they don't want us posting the APK.. sigh.
About 6 days sgo swype stopped working. I can still type but not swype. It said my trial had expired. I had side loaded it from an apk i found here on xda. Does anyone know of a way to get swype working again? I would gladly pay for it but its not in the app store yet.
Thanks

I had swype since the first beta came out. Then updated in september with the new beta. And in the last 5 days or so it kicked me out. I flashed several new roms and on each one i try to reinstall swype and it says the id of my phone does not match the one registered at swype.com. Anybody know of a fix?
You're getting these messages running the swype installer, or the swype apk?
If you haven't gotten the email for the swype release to download the installer, you should be able to access it from their webpage if you have a login.
Google
Just Google Swype Download. It's "warez." But google will hook you up.
There are still pleanty of ways to get Swype, but asking for it on here out in the open on this site is not a very good idea anymore.
Im getting the message running the swype installer. I download the .apk file from the website straight to my phone. Then after I enter email and password in the installer it gives me the message- this phone does not match the id used at registration.

request a new email from swype, they will send you the newest installer and you can then install swype. I'm officially in the beta and have to do this from time to time.

Much appreciated.
The latest beta of Swype SUCKS! Stupid pop-up constantly of "This word was replaced with this word, if you don't want this hilight the word and press Swype button to delete" OVER and OVER again. It was actually slower to type than the actual keyboard. I hope they do something about this.
Does anyone have issues with it working? Sometimes it works, then other times it completely stops doing anything. It will popup and ill start swyping but it wont register anything.

I've seen other people say that when they have issues with swype, just switch input (long press on a text field and change input to keyboard), then switch back and it should be OK

I stopped using it for this reason. Having to switch text input was irritating me. I just use the stock keyboard, works fine.
I stopped using it because of this issue until I flashed CM7. Figured i would give it another try. It has not stopped working in the 3 days that I have been using CM7, so maybe it had something to do with AR?
Does it come on all the roms? Can't find swype on mine.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I have the same issues with Swype on AR 3, and now RCMix HD 4.1... But since there's an easy workaround, I'll keep using it as I like Swyping so much.
It works fine on my stock, un-rooted Inspire. I just simply downloaded the latest Swype apk file, and side loaded it through SWM. Simple, clean and easy. It works flawlessly, and has been for weeks now.
I just started having this problem today actually. I have been using it for a week and a half now. Don't know why it just happened today. I had to reset it twice earlier but fine now.

you have to sign up for the beta here where they send you a download link. At which point in your browser it may tell you that you are not using an android device. If you encounter this change your settings to show as a mobile and then you should be able to download and load it the way they show there
link as follows

happy hunting
After reading the terms of service on XDA regarding swype, I removed this post. The post linked to another member who linked the apk file. In the future, anyone considering posting a swype apk file should read this...

Thanks to member phil.W for the heads up!
Cheers.

Screw the beta version. Use the verified Swype. Maybe since it's a beta, that is why folks here are having problems. Just download the apk (non-beta version) and simply sideload the file with 'Sideload Wonder Machine'. Quick and easy.
You can get the real Swype version here in XDA. You could have done the search, or I'll just post the link here because I'm nice!

There, on the last page, member cmeyer3 gives the download link.

How do you know this is the "Real" version and not just the apk someone got from the beta? Cause this (http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-inspire-4g/60295-guide-installing-swype-beta-htc-inspire-4g.html - which is referenced in that thread) shows you how to pull the .apk out of the beta, which is what I believe is being shared

not to mention of course that SWYPE does not want its apk being shared as such, and wants all copies to be properly licensed which even XDA is observing and removing links to the downloads when they see them to observe swypes request that they have proper copies and/or have permission to install it in their roms or on their own devices.
with link to corroborate the story from what I read yesterday

Thanks phil.W for the the heads up. I removed my post on that matter upon reading those terms of service from the link you provided. And yes, someone should let the other member, who is linking to the apk file, know about that as well. No reason to step on anyone's foot over at Swype and cause any problems for developers here on XDA.
Thanks again.
I have a Phone that isn't 'supported' by Mobage, it runs fine and smoothly on my phone though. Since it's not 'supported' I can't download it via the Market, and it would be awesome if someone could post it here for me, and the community. It will work until it's updated, like always.
Thanks in advance.

No one has or is willing to snag a quick .apk?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282123
I did a quick google search and found the apk posted in this thread from a couple months ago. I did verify the link does still work. The link for the apk is posted in the 6th post.
I've tried that one and on launch it asks too update, brings me straight to the Market and says "No results found.", I need the newest version.
Is this what you're looking for?
Yes that's it, but its in Chinese or something. xD
When I open the game We Rule, which requires Mobage, it says I still don't have Mobage, I'm not sure if it's because the version, or the fact that it's a Chinese version.
Here's my request thread. Download links still work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1206230
Mobage APK also in Post #6 (I don't think it's the newest version though)
Edit: it might be the same apk posted earlier
Yea, I've already checked all the posts here on the website, all of them are out of date, they ask you to update but you can't.
that Mobage client is in Japanese and serves as a gateway to play several web based games (in japanese).
to use it you need an account at Yahoo! Japan http://yahoo-mbga.jp/
I don't think you need any mobage client for We Rule or Tiny Tower... but they seem to work only in some roms... at least, while being mark as compatible with my Nexus S they just force close at start (it's updated to ICS)
pd. I tested this two versions and both work perfectly today but, as I say, they are to access the japanese mobage:
http://www.filesonic.es/file/Vq6F9JL/mobage.20111005_v2.0.2.apk
http://www.filesonic.es/file/kkYWQiF/mobage.20111212_2.0.3.apk <- Current version
I don't know what to press though, I can't read any of it. When I open We Rule it asks me to download it, if I press download it brings me to the Market and says nothing found, if I click no the app closes instantly.
I have an LG Esteem, it's rooted, however I also tried un-rooted with same results.
Also thanks to everyone who has tried to help so far, and happy new years to all
