Skyfire available on market where?

Have tried with many different network codes with market enabler in uk and us, but skyfire never shows up. How can I find it in market? I have the apk installed manually but want it in market for the automatic update thing. Any help appreciated.

Skyfire is fine here, so your Market is incomplete.. Probably missing Protected apps I'd have to guess.

getting a certain app to work on the thunderbolt

So I got TB coming in tomorrow, and knowing that this specific app does only work on the EVO 4G. I have tried it on other android phones, it will not detect it on the market, so when i download the app on computer, and i tried to force install it, it was unsuccessful.
So i am wondering if devs of the apps can make the app to work on a specific device? IS there a way change something in the TB to make that app think its a EVO 4G?

I got my thunderbolt today, and tried to install the app, it does not work. It won't find it on the market. Only HTC EVO 4G users can see it on market and download it. I know because the company made it for the EVO for now and will later release more for other phones. Anyways, my friend gave me the .apk file from his EVO, and i downloaded it, open with astro, and installed it, it will show the program and the progress bar, then few seconds later it pops up "application not installed"
So the app will look for the model and if its wrong model it will cancel the installation.
How do i bypass this?

model id change possible through build.prop?

Its a nTouch Mobile app from Sorenson Communications, on HTC EVO 4G do a search in market for "SorensonVRS" for more information go to sorensonvrs.com/ntouch

I tried editing the model number in the build.prop to the evo's model number, but it wont make the changes permanetly. Perhaps being rooted will make it work?

Wireless tether

So since verizon wireless has blocked us rooted users from being able to download the wireless tether appear from market is there another way to get this app on my phone?

It was removed from the market a while back. If you google wireless tether you can download it. Verizon allows sideloading of applications I believe.

You can download various versions from it's google code site here. The latest market version is 2.0.7 but there are experimental builds you can try as well. To install, make sure the "unknown sources" option is checked in settings->applications. Then use a file manager app like Astro to find the apk and install it.

App to check for app updates?

I used to use app updater notifier to check whether I have updates for my app I have installed. However it has been removed from the market and doesn't work anymore.
So is there an app that does this? We all have gotten apks from different places and its not easy keeping them up to date. Using app updater notifier made it easier.
I wonder if google have removed all of the apps like this...

So you're asking how to keep track of updates for your pirated / downloaded from other places, apps ? The market does a good job at it...

Hmm, I have an app update but doesn't show in atrackdog...
I turn off the track from market it shows the updates BUT says I have updates that show the lower versions of my apps as 'new'.

aTrackDog is old and stupid.

You can try appbrain , it looks for update also but this is only a feature , the main thing about this app is another .

You can easily perform a check-in with the dial pad. That will let you know if there are updates.
Just type the number that the letter is on:
*#*#2432546#*#* (I think that's the way to type checkin with the numbers, not looking at a dial pad)
It's better than using an app that takes up resources, and it's very quick.

You could try a different app market like slideme if that isn't blocked? Also I believe the free app ( it might not be ) market enabler could help here? You might need to download the apk from somewhere though.

I hope that you can use web browser.
There you can download application directly.
To install them you need to do few things first. In Settings go to Security and enable Unknown Sources and in Developer option enable USB debagging.
Use some application like ES File Explorer and you can manage phone applications well.
PS: Take care and I hope that situation in Syria is getting better.

You could try using a proxy, although I wouldn't know how to use one on a mobile I know that they work because I am able to watch hulu in the UK through my computer that is running a proxy.

If your rooted then I guess there is tor as a proxy? Will be slowish though.
