Issue when pressing back button on GV - Android Apps and Games

I didn't seem to have this issue before, but lately it seems to be occuring. Not sure if it is related to latest build of CM7 or not, but i don't recall having a problem previously.
Basically whenever i am in GV in the inbox, and i press the "back" button, instead of backing out of the app it reloads the inbox once more. Then if i press "back" again, THEN it will back out of the app.
Anybody else seeing this?

Messages... closes when i hit the center of the d-pad

Did a quick search and couldn't find the answer... but i am running Dutty's latest 6.1 ROM (6-Mar) using radio .04....
when i use the messages button, then i select either sms/mms or an email account, then to the first message and hit the center d-pad button and the screen automatically closes and goes back to the today screen. (sometimes happens also when i hit the "r" on the keyboard to reply).
Is this normal for 6.1 ROMs??? i've done a couple hard resets and this has happened on all the 6.1 ROMs that i've tried.
TIA!!
is nobody else having the same problems?
Same thing happens to me
No, i didn't have this problem. I disable the account picker, but i enable them to reproduce this problem... i didn't get the error.

I can't get my call log! Any ideas???

My call log never comes up on my treo 750. I hit the green key, and nothing happens. I try to access it from the menu on the bottom right of the today screen, and still nothing happens.
I upgraded to WM6 a while back when I first got the phone, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
But now, I also use mobile shell with the diamond square theme, and when I have a missed call, I can SOMETIMES get my call log through that by hitting the missed call button on that screen. And that's only when I have a few missed calls.
I tried to remap one of the buttons to show my call log, but there's no call log option on the pulldown menu in the button settings.
Any ideas on how to fix this? I've tried everything I can think of....
Thanks!

gmail glitch or am i dumb?

When I get a gmail notification, I pull down the bar and click it. After I read the email I press 'home'. The problem is that the notification is still there. If I click on it again it'll take me to the email again and when i press home it will disappear that time. Or when originally pressing the notification I can read the email and press 'back' to get back to my inbox and then the notification will disappear. Or I can just drag the bar and press clear.
Is this how of works for everybody? I'm almost positive that with my g1 and mytouch i would drag the notification and press on it and it'd disappear. The notification would appear, i would press it, and it would politely disappear The current way is kind of a hassle since i'm so used to it being simpler and smoother on my 2 other android phones.
Maybe there is a setting that i missed?
Thanks for any information
Must be a glitch, it happens to me too. It also happens in Google Voice. After you read the message you can press back then home to clear the notification for now.
Same here (Ten Char)
same here. I got used to always hitting the back button to erase the notification before i hit the home button.
It's a bug in 2.1. The notification goes away after about a minute. I submitted an issue in the bug tracker earlier today about this.
Cool thanks for the update

Maybe is the way you do it. After reading the mail if you press Home, the program doesn't realize you've read it. But if you press Back, instead, the notification goes out immediately. This behaviour is the same for the G1 and the MyTouch as well.

[Q] Home & Back key bring up quick search screen

Q: Why do I frequently end up going to a quick search when I hit the home or back keys?
I have a stock Capitvate running 2,1-update1 / i897UCJH7. FWIW, I'm using the Swype keyboard. I have a number of apps installed. This unit seems perfect in every way (GPS and everything else) except for the following:
Frequently, when I press either the "home" or "back" key, I end up looking at the keyboard and a "Quick Search Box" rather than the home screen or the previous screen. That's not right but even worse, it often appears I am in a loop; pressing either key again frequently does not take me back a screen or to the home screen.
This may be associated with Vlingo. If I force stop Vlingo, the problem is decidedly less frequent but it still occurs. Vlingo tech support will only say their program should run on any Eclair unit although they do not specifically support the Captivate.
I have disabled all of the search options on the phone thinking search is popping up by design. I suppose I could uninstall Vlingo for a final test but I thought if I stopped the program that would eliminate it from consideration.
Maybe I'm missing something somewhere and I'd appreciate your helping me figure out what it is. Thanks in advance.

If you do full reset and run the phone with no apps installed and it still occurs, it is the phone and you should exchange it for a new one. Others have experienced this, and many times the only recourse is replacing the phone.
restore it first
I had that happen on one that got lost. I thought it was from staying in my pocket and stuff pressing up against the buttons and wearing them out.

Back button freezes if tap and hold!

There seems to be a bug with note 5 back button and Gmail app. If you open Gmail app and tap and hold the back button for a few seconds, it makes the back button not working. You would have to force quit the app to close. Both my phone and app are up to date. I think tap and hold back button usually opens up the menu but because it's not configured in the Gmail app, it stops functioning. I've tested on 3 other phones and same issue. Does any one have the same issue?
Gmail version : 5.7.1059
I just found out that Hangout app has the same issue....
And so as Google Drive!
OMG i keep finding different apps with the same issue. Dropbox has the same bug
And Google photos ...
I still have the same issue after the latest OTA update!
Has anyone here tried replicating this issue?

Yes I have. It doesn't bother me much as you can just hit the home button, then hit the multitask button and clear the app that was frozen.
It doesn't bother me either. What bothers me is that Samsung hasn't fixed this yet. I've reported this issue long time ago.
