Hi,
I have a motorola dext (MB200) 1.5.9 from Singapore (asia).
I have purchased both the premium version for ROM Manager and Root Explorer, and have followed numerous topics and links showing different ways of rooting and flashing the rom but in vain.
When I have finally stumped into Rom Manager, I have bought the premium version (2.0.2.6) after reading the positive comments.
However, when i press 'Flash ClockworkMod Recovery', i saw that my 3G bar flashing upload/download arrow telling me that it is trying to connect to something, afterwhich nothing happened for the next 20 minutes.
I have tried the 'Reboot into Recovery', and when it rebooted, the screen shows a warning sign on a black background and then the screen froze up.
Can someone explain to me how to flash and do backup for my ROM before I attempt to change it? I am sure my phone is rooted as I can see the 'Superuser' icon and the 'CacheMate for root' applications installed.

Hello, I'm new to this whole rooting thing, and this afternoon I decided to give it a try on my MyTouch 3G 1.2. I downloaded ROMManager and preformed a flash recovery. I then proceeded to download the CyanogenMod 6.0 to my device and was forced to boot into recovery mode. Afterwards, I see a black screen with green text. The command list under this text read sd-ext.img not found and the ROM wasn't downloaded on my device. Now whenever I try to reboot my MyTouch 3G, it just stays on the green boot-up screen. I'm tired of all this rooting nonsense and just want to return to my phone's original Android 1.6 OS. Is my phone bricked? If it is can I do anything about it? Thanks in advance.
hello, i think i broke the phone... I recently was trying to install a ROM with the ROM Manager.. i did the flash and did the install from the SDCard ... selected the backup current rom option and proceeded.. it look like it backed up everything and was installing the ROM.. once it rebooted, the phone just keeps rebooting.. it shows the LG logo and then goes to the Verizon logo... and it re-starts again and it keeps cycling on that.. PLEAS HELP!!
Ah, you have given more information than I got here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951997
So I think I can give you a clearer answer.
Boot into the bootloader. Steps to do so, according to a quick peek via Google, are to hold SEND and MENU while powering up the phone. (My phone is different). From the bootloader, you should be able to select Recovery. From there, you should be able to restore from the Nandroid backup you took. For other options, such as Fastboot, see the link in the thread I referenced.
I searched everywhere on this forum and found somewhat similar problems but none as d\ifficult as mine. I have a Tmobile htc mytouch 4g slide and I attempted to root it tonight when I got kinda stuck. I was using MyTouch_4G_Slide_All-In-One_Kit_V1.0 by Hasoon 2000. I got CWM v 5.2.0.7 installed and attempted to install cyanogenmod from my sd card while in recovery mode. It installed successfully but when i restarted it got stuck on the boot up screen (I guess its also called the splashscreen). In order to get back to recovery mode i had to pull the battery. I tried formatting from the CWM menu in recovery and then re installed cyanogen but the same thing happened again. Then one of my family members came in and clicked on the install stock recovery button to see if that would help. So now I have stock recovery installed but also installed the not working cyanopgenmod. Now I cant get my computer to recognize my device to re install CWM. This is my first time rooting a device and I have no experience with development so please be patient with me. My computer recognizes it when i first enter recovery mode but then it says it was unplugged and my phone shows a picture of a phone with a red triangle and exclamation point. I am worried there is nothing i can do since doing a factory reset just results in a frozen splashscreen and my computer wont recognize it and i cant get in to recovery mode to install a different rom. Any help would be much appreciated
Hi guys, I have an Allview P5 Mini-Android 4.0.4
Few days ago I rooted it and everything was fine. Then I started to unninstall apps and I think I unninstaled a wrong one because is sais all the time Android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly and it doesn't show my bottom bar anymore. All I can do is getting apps to main screen and acces them.
So I learned how to install a new rom to fix those problems and make my phone faster. But I am stuck at the recovery to avoid toggle signature verification. I tried a lot of recoveries because I dont find an ,,official" one for my phone. The cwm versions that I tried blocked my phone to the logo and some of the twrp versions make my screen flash with white and black line verticaly and horizontaly.
Is there anything I can do to make sure that the recovery mod starts? Or is there any other way to install a new Rom?(without accesing recovery mode)
I am pretty desperate, I don't know what else to do. Any suggestion or method is welcome.
Thanks in advance!
Ok I will admit it, I screwed up royally this time. My SM-N9150 (Hong Kong version) was slowing down and draining the battery fast. I could not get the downloader of a new stock ROM to work in Sammobile (tried multiple times, with adblock off but no go) and so I bit the bullet and used Kies to upgrade to Marshmallow. Of course this lost root but I figured I could just re-root (I had rooted using Odin with my old phone, but this one I had rooted using KingoRoot). However, none of the 1-click systems like KingoRoot worked, and neither did Chainfire via Odin (which caused problems on its own). So I flashed the latest CWM via ODIN. It said pass, so I went into recovery, did a backup, then did factory reset, installed SuperSu, wiped the caches and rebooted.
I kept getting weird errors where it would not let me boot into recovery or boot at all. so I thought that maybe CWM was not a good choice. I tried the newest version of TWRP but that gave me the "recovery is not seandroid enforcing" error. So I went back the CWM and tried wiping again.
After a very long Samsung logo bootloop, it eventually showed gearings turning but with instructions in Chinese. It then showed the logo again for long time and then showed something that had only 1 English word "system" and the rest in Chinese. There seemed to be 2 choices at the bottom of the dialog box. When I chose the one of the right, the phone showed a grey progress bar with Chinese letters above, but then went back into a bootloop; when I chose the one on the left, the phone turned off for a long time then restarted but again seems to be stuck at the Samsung logo screen before returning to the message with the word "system".
After it going into a bootloop that lasted over 1 hour, I pulled the battery and then went into recovery and tried restoring the backup I had made at the start. That just left me in the endless Samsung logo bootloop. I left it plugged in overnight hoping it would do something but nada. At one pint I did get a message "unfortunately, the system UI has stopped working" but screen was unresponsive to press OK, and it just went back into the bootloop.
I realize I did not do anything to unlock the bootloader. Would using KIES have locked the bootloader again? Could this be my problem, and if so, how do I fix it?
