Samsung apps

So, when i open samsung apps (the app) on my italian tab, i only see three applications.
Ive read somewhere that sammy has hundreds of apps for android... so where do i get them?

I only get the remote control app.
and on my phone I get 13 apps :-(

As far as I know those things are being loaded by local operator by using custom CSC file. They are not really worldwide applications. But it would be a good idea to create a thread where we comment all the market programs that run nicely on full screen.

Is there away to get more of samsung's apps, or should I treat the thing as bloatware and remove it?
Can it be removed safely?

It looks useless to me. Samsung apps is their equivalent to market or appstore for Bada.
I don't think there going to be published something for TAB.

I've a question for you: Have you checked again lately?
I've rooted my tab and I've tried several firmwares and I always got 2 apps in the store.I've tried also 3 sim cards TIM(Italian) Wind(Italian) and FIDO(Canadian) and always 2 apps.A friend has a 'untouched" with a TIM sim card in, and after he did a factory reset he had a bunch of apps in the Samsung Apps (Corriere, Gameloft HD,Milano finanza etc)
I'm not able to understan why....any idea?

Its based on location, which is why it needs a sim.

Agree but I've tried my friend's sim card on my tab, and I can't see any apps? We were also in the same place, but he have apps not me....its weird!

crazy... italy got it first and my russian one is from italy
there were two to begin with, and then another was added later
ive removed the entire application anyway, so as to avoid further disappointment

Do you still have the original JID? Have you tried to install Market enabler and fake TIM provider? (it should works also with samsung apps because when I tried changing the provider the Sam apps asked me again to accept terms and conditions..)

Yep, and because of the lack of apks ill have to flash it again to get the sammy store back!
What are you on? I might give it a shot, but i see no other reason to flash yet - from what i hear theres no improvements in any of the newer firmwares...
edit: also, why would TIM have more samsungs apps do you think? are they an official partner or something?

I'm back on JID now I've tried JI6 and JJ4, but all the same, just 2 apps....About TIM I just said because is the provider my friend has..but he started to have all the apps after a factory reset which its also strange...and they are no partner because all the italian provider are selling the Tab.
I'd like to know if someone from italy with a brand new tab (no root or different firmware) with an Italian Sim card in, can see the apps or not...

I've done it, but that market on Kies isn't compatible with the Tab, that what is shown on my kies

I tried to write to Samsung, I can't wait for an answer...sure will not fix anything though

I am in the US. My tab was shipped from Italy with only two apps showing in the Samsung apps store.
It shipped with XXJI5.
Later I flashed to JID and more apps showed.
I then reverted back to JI5 and only two apps are showing.
I think it is relates to JID.

Are u using the JID from samfirmware.com? I'm using the JID and I got 2 apps....only think is that in the package I download the zip file was XXJID the tar indide XAJID, don't know if it means anything.

Not that I need it, but in the commercials for the tab, they show layar (which is in the galaxy s) I don't have it on mine. Anyone have it? I live in Norway..

For the meantime, it only shows SNF, RED ZONE, and NFL Network. When TNF starts, it will also show that. Also, on the nfl network, they do tons of nfl replay from the prior sunday games.

I downloaded this from the market a few months ago. Last week I rooted and flashed SkyRaider 3.3. I downloaded it from the market again and it still doesn't mention anything about charging me for anything or subscribing to anything..
What exactly happens, and how does the market know that my phone downloaded the app a while ago? Is it all google account based and not device?
If that's the case, when I buy a new phone, do my purchased apps transfer?

This doesn't seem to work for me. I installed it fine but when I went to run it I get an error stating with some code and mention that I need to be a Verizon subscriber in order to use it. I am running Skyraider 3.3.4. I used previously with Uncommon Sense and had no problem. Any help would be appreciated!

I have the same error.

I am using the Desire Z rom and it doesnt work either, since it is based off a non Verizon rom. I am told that Skyraider uses some Evo framework an Evo is a sprint phone, that could be the problem. I am just guessing here but it makes sense to me.
OK I am wrong... I went to my nandroid backup of the latest OTA release and I still get the not a verizon subscriber error

Same issue..no go??

I can't login to netflix, it keeps saying "your account information changed" and doesn't let me in. I do have an old CC on my file with them which isn't active anymore, but before I give them my new card, I would like to know if you are even able to use netflix app on sensation. I heard about a modified app, but I also found a lot of people saying that it no longer works due to the update that was recently released. Oh, and I can access my account through my browser.
Does it work with sensation or not?

You can actually just use the app in the market now. No funny business required.

Netflix works fine on the Sensation.

I had this happen once, it was because of information getting backed up from an old install. I cleared all the cache for Netflix and retyped my account information and I logged in fine.

Nah, its just because I needed to reactivate my account, at learn in my case. I updated my info and now it works well. Thanks guys.

Amazon App Store (unable to log in)

I've installed the Amazon App Store app, and it will not accept my email and password. I know that they're correct, but the app continues to say invalid.
Does anyone have this app working properly?

I have had no problems signing in multiple times (after changing ROMs). Uninstall the app and reinstall or, goto Amazon's site and get a text sent with a link to download the app (again) and try installing that one.

Go to the Amazon website and delete all previous devices. As mentioned above you probably signed into it on too many devices.

This was the issue. There were over 30 devices. I guess I change Roms and phones A LOT!

I don't know why amazon does that, its incredibly annoying

Same here. Thought it was ICS too. Been looking for an answer to this issue for my GT-N7000 and looked all over the forums there but could find any help. Had way too many devices registered. So i deregistered them, dowloaded the app and installed it again. Had no problems signing in after that.

I recently bought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy s4 off of Craigslist. I checked the phone, made sure it charges, calls, texts, and works with my carrier. Everything was fine until I came home and the demo ads kept popping up whenever I stopped using the phone. I then realized I just got ripped off, and after various attempts of trying to contact the seller, I finally gave up.
Is there anyway to stop the demo ads from popping up? Everything else in the phone works just fine. I just want to get ride of the ads!
PLEASE HELP!

Sorry, I didn't exactly understand your question... but can you show me an example (screenshot) of how those ads looks like? Because I have no idea what kind of ads you're getting on your GS4... If you're talking about seeing ads in apps downloaded from Play Store then that's normal..
AND YEAH, take a look at this thread, it might help you with solving your problem... :good:
And if all else fails then try Factory Resetting the phone and see if that helps...

I got it. You can flash the firmware from sammobile.com for your device.
These generally are display phones and goes to screensaver mode in which samsung ads are played.

I tried factory resetting the phone, and it didnt work. I visited a lot of verizon stores and they said its a demo phone, and there is no way to remove the add. I paid 400 dollars for the phone, and now I really dont know what to do. Is there really no way to get rid of it? Everything else is fine.

I have owned a Samsung device before I suggest installing the drivers and flashing the stock firmwear through Odin
Use kies for simple driver installing http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/
A list of stock firmwares download the correct one for your device http://galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-stock-firmware/
And the Odin download and form if you have questions on how to use Odin I'll try to answer them or another xda member can http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738841

It's in retail mode.
If you go to Playstore and download APK Manager and open the app you will find an installed app called Retail Mode... uninstall and job done! No more demo video!

I managed to get rid of the demo screensaver by flashing! Thank you so much! Now that one problem is solved, another has come up. The demo contacts keep showing up, and every time they show up my saved contacts get erased. What can I do to prevent this?

Hmmm I'm not sure try syncing your contacts to google then set the contact list to only display contacts from there
