Rumor alert: New web based market tomorrow? - G Tablet General

According to the guys over at Droid-Life the new android market could possibly be launching tomorrow, which mean you will be able to browse and install all apps from the market directly to your android devices, wonder if this will coincidely install the apps onto our gtabs if they are setup with the same account.

It is out today.

The online market send the apk to your phone once you select it from the web market. Since the gtab has no phone I don't know of any way to get it from the market to the phone except manually porting the apk file or downloading it directly to the gtab via wireless connection.

As someone who has struggled with getting Market working , and not successfully, it is very frustrating to finally see the apps on he new site, but still not being able to download them. I have tried to download some, but as you said, there is no way to send it to the tablet. And most of the ones I have tried to far says it is not for my phone. Moving the APK frommy Droid is still the only way for me. Oh well, I continue to hope things will improve.

i download them from the site directly to my gtab with no problem at all i am running the vegan 5.1b rom and it works amazingly works better than my android phone, i just have my google account setup on my gtab and it syncs right over its one of the options when i go to install an app from the site see below.

Google Play Store (Android Market) v3.5.15 + Mod

What's in this version:
You now have the Installed and All tabs you can swipe between. The former one is what we used to have before - it lists all apps installed on your device. The latter lists all apps you've ever installed in case you want to download them again or travel down the memory lane. This is quite handy, and I've seen this list before in the Play Store on the web, so it's great to get it here in the mobile app.
The All tab contains a handy dropdown with all your accounts (if you added more than one) and lets you switch between them very easily (as opposed to clicking Menu, etc).
A few of the stock apps that apparently never got linked to the Play Store before got identified and picked up this time, and updates to them were waiting for me when I fired the Store up. I've complained about this very bug in my last rant, and it looks like someone listened.
Mod version features:
Unlimited access to apps in Google Play Store
Removed countries restriction in Google Play Store
Fixed the issue which your device is not compatible with this item in Google Play

Apps I didn't download show up in Play Store.

Hello XDA.
This issue has been bothering me for a while now. When I go to the Play Store hit the menu button and go to "my apps", there sometimes a few apps that show up that I never downloaded.

These apps show up every now and then as downloaded. I don't speak Russian, thus, I don't download apps that are in Russian. I was wondering if maybe someone uses my account, and is downloading apps to their device, or if this is an issue with the Play Store...? I use a very secure password, it literally is a bunch of random numbers, letters, and symbols. Any help with resolving or explaining the issue would be appreciated!

Change your pw and see if it does it again?
It could be a bad app that you installed is downloading other apps by itself?

My first thought. The apps never appear on my phone though. Some kind of botnet then? A bad app downloads another app to use your account information to download and rate it, then un install it? Those other apps don't have any reviews that involve words, and they all have 10,000+ downloads with 4-5 star ratings. Seems suspicious to me.

You've probably just solved it yourself. The tricky part comes now when you have to figure out what app did it.

[Q] Note 10.1 Tomorrow. App suggestions?

It's arriving tomorrow and coming from iOS, I'm excited to jump into the Android world.
What are some must have apps I should download when I'm all set up?

Welcome to Android, but be more specific of what apps do you want?

Depending on your needs the answers will vary like the previous poster stated...
IMHO, the most useful apps (for me) are:
- Flash (Get latest from adobe archives, because they have stopped developing for Android)
- A Tor based browser to circumvent any national blocks. (There is a combined package)
- Google Drive, so you can edit/share spreadsheets etc without filling your SD card.
I'm sure there will be many more things you will get interested in...

Well that's all for now, 3M

Here are some that I get on new devices
Latest Flash player for Android Version 11.1.115.81 this is a direct download link, check download folder for the apk file.
SwiFTP it enables an Android phone or tablet to easily share files with computers or other devices over a wifi network. These computers only need to have an FTP client, which all computers do. You can walk around with your MP3/video/ebook/whatever collection and share it seamlessly with almost any wifi-enabled system.

Multiple App Install in Google Play Store...

I just stumbled upon a nifty little feature that I don't remember seeing mentioned anywhere before. At first, I thought it was an Android "L" developer preview feature, but low & behold, I just tried it on my HTC One & sure enough it is live there as well.
At any rate, I am curious when Google implemented this feature? I don't know if it was in one of the many GMS/Play Store updates, or if it has been there all this time & I just missed it somehow.
Give it a try, if you haven't. Just go into apps, select the "all apps" tab & long press any app that is not installed already. It will put the device into multiple selection mode, where you can select & install multiple applications much easier than selecting individual apps & pressing install for each one. Sure, it's not as easy as using TB or another backup utility, but for those of us that are bumping between KK & Android "L", where most system & data restore apps don't work yet due to context changes, it definitely saves a little time.
I am interested to know if you can do this on any JB or ICS device too. Try it out & let me know.

I think it was implemented some updates ago, not many but. 2-3 back I think.
It doesn't matters what OS version you have, Play Store and Services go on their own way so I think anyone can get it.
Greetings!
I've discovred this when i changed my nexus mid-may.

Oh,works on my Nexus 7(2013).
Anyone knows if this works on JB,ICS...?

Stop update to Android 12.

Is there a way to stop the auto update to 12? I had to send mine to Nokia to get downgraded back to 11 cause for one thing, it killed the dual SIM capability. Then, i just hate the UI and refuse to pay for apps to fix the look. I have looked everywhere and all the guides say to go to a certain place and disable them, but that doesnt exist in Android ONE i guess. I dont really want to try a custom ROM cause im sure it wont support dual SIM either.
Find the OTA update app and do a adb edit to disable it. Package Disabler has a variant for model other than Samsung, that might work too.
On Samsung's they look like this, ws.dm is the prime offender...

I would not recommend this sites app to anyone. I tried to buy it last night and 24hrs later, I still have no app to download. I found your post from a Google search. Email went unanswered.

Give them a business day or two... jeeesze. Do a charge back on the card if you must. I've been using them for over 3 years, no worries, as I am now.
