Is it possible to order the HTC Thunderbolt (Or any other CDMA phone for use in the US) without Verizon branding?
I'm coming from an iPhone 3G > Nexus One > iPhone 4. The lack of carrier branding was always a huge plus aesthetically, and I know you can buy GSM unlocked phones sans carrier branding.

I've had a droid 2 global (ugh) for about 6 months now and I plan on buying an HTC trophy instead. However, I am concerned that I won't be able to activate the trophy when I get it. If I buy an unlocked htc trophy off of amazon, will I be able to activate it with verizons network? I've read that verizon doesn't support unlocked phones.

If its gsm then no, VZW has a cdma network. non verizon phones have th be sent in to be programmed to work on vzw's network if they have the proper cdma antenna. In other words, if you want a phone to work on vzw or sprint, make sure its branded for the carrier before you buy it.
Don't worry, you'll be able to activate it no problem, and besides, the isn't the Trophy Verizon's anyway? Just be sure to do the ESN swap online, they'll charge you if you go in-store.

You'll have to buy a CDMA Trophy. A regular GSM Trophy doesn't support Verizon's CDMA network.
[Q] Can a Verizon unlocked iPhone4 be used on Sprints network? Sorry if this is a noob question but i have no experience with unlocking phones and using phones on other networks.
Hello
umm yes im pretty sure, google for it so you can confirm me
A Sprint/Verizon iphone 4 can't be "unlocked" considering it doesn't have a SIM card slot. You can flash it to metro or boost mobile, quite possibly to Sprint but its not your typical method of entering an unlock code. Even if it was the 4s, it still can only be unlocked to work on an international GSM carrier, not AT&T or T-Mobile within the states.
Hi there
Would it be possible to purchase a European HTC 7 Pro, unlock it and use it on a US Carrier like MetroPCS or ATT?
Thanks
Yes. You need a SIM-unlock (or a pre-SIM-unlocked device) but then you're good to go. Note that of the major carriers in the US, only T-Mobile will give you a discount for bringing your own device; AT&T charges you the same rate whether they are subsidizing a phone for you or not. However, I'm not certain that the 7 Pro has the correct radios to connect to the band that T-Mobile uses for 3G, so you might have to go with AT&T (or a smaller carrier that resells AT&T bandwidth at a better price) unless you're OK with being capped at EDGE. T-Mobile is supposedly rolling out 3G across the same band used by AT&T, but it will take time.

The 50$ "Unlimited" from ATT Go phone isn't a bad deal, even if I have to pay for the phone. It's just finally time to get rid of Verizon and my Touch Pro2.
Thanks the insight!
which of the following verizon phones plays better on the tmobile lTE netwrok?
1. HTC - One (M8) 4G LTE
2. LG - G3 4G LTE
thanks
Doesn't verizon have a locked bootloader? Why not just buy it from T-Mobile anyways?
None the less, I'm sure they'd work just the same if you're talking about network
any opinions?
I'm in the US and is considering getting a S6. However at&t versions have the ugly logo on the back.....which does not affect t-mobile model. I wonder if I can go buy a full priced t-mobile galaxy S6 (and get it unlocked) and insert my at&t sim card in it. Compared the bands on their websites but the information seems to be partial....Any one could help determine if the t-mobile version will be fully functional on at&t network? Thanks a lot!
Besides, I haven't used t-mobile phones before...Will a fully paid galaxy s6 come to me unlocked? Or do I need to ask them for an unlock code? I see that the tmobile iphones are unlocked by default, but I don't know if this applies to S6..
