I am looking for something like Android Manager Wifi dropbox is awesome too but completly diffrent
One possible way of syncing with a PC (which I'm currently testing out) is to use an app like Samba Filesharing (available for free in the market). Using this app you can browse the contents of the phone's sdcard from the PC (e.g. \\phone\sdcard) and you can use any syncing application from within windows to share via a wifi connection.. such as Robocopy.. SyncBackSE.. etc..
Yesterday I copied 11GB FROM my phone to the PC in about 90 min via wifi which is not too bad.. this was the initial sync, so future syncs should take much less as less data should be copied...

Can HTC Sync app that syncs Outlook with Android can it be used with Galaxy S phone?
I'm looking for option to sync with outlook that DOES NOT require me to upload my data to google.
Kies doesn't require you to use the cloud to sync your PIM data
You may want to do a search for and check out "Android Manager". This is what I use over Wi-Fi for Outlook sync. I like it better than Kies myself.
anyone else tried Android Manager?
I also use android manager You can sync Contacts , Calender , Images, Videos or any other folder you choose.
Application is quite stable (I personally find it much more stable than MyPhoneExplorer).
best part its free.

The full Kies does not work with Captivate and Kies Mini has limited functionality.
I use MyPhoneExplorer to sync my outlook data. It has a PC program where you can edit/add/delete contacts and when you connect the phone to the PC it starts the companion app on the phone to make the transfer. No Google cloud needed and haven't had any stability issues with it.
Out of curiosity, I installed Android Manager on my PC. Unlike MyPhoneExplorer, it does not interface directly with Outlook. I'm unsure of how you even get your Outlook data into the program as the only import format it appears to support is .pbf, which is not a format Outlook can export to. If either of you guys have a way to do this, please post it. Thanks.
EDIT: OK, I played around with it some more and got it figured out. I am now an Android Manager user. Much easier to use than MyPhoneExplorer once you get it setup properly and I like not having to use a cord to sync. I wonder why this great app never shows up on lists of ways to sync Outlook with Android? First I heard of it was in this thread and I looked a lot when I first got the phone. Thanks for the tip.
Just found out MyPhoneExplorer while searching on net. I think it is an excellet app and hence wanted to share.
It involves installation of client software on phone, search for MyPhoneExplorer in Market. Then download the software from http://www.fjsoft.at/en/downloads.php and install. It can be installed as portable version also.
Just open the client side app on phone and start software, set settings to AutoDetect. I connected through WiFi and was able to successfully sync and edit contacts and SMS and sync back to phone. Somehow alarms were not read, doesn't matter.
I have been using this from last 5-6 years, lightweight & superfast.
Is there any way to sync folders/files from my PC with my Android phone?
This is what I'm hoping for:
-Over the Internet away from home, so not on same WiFi network as home,
-NOT cloud-based (like Dropbox, Sugarsync, Box, Windows LiveMesh), I need something that is direct PC - Android.
-Automatic sync, not just a way to manually locate files on my PC and download them (I can use Logmein or Splashtop for that).
Thanks in advance for any help!

There is Samsung Kies but it is not OTA.
Hi Guys,
Haven't posted before but need a solution as it's driving me insane!
Currently using a Mac and thus using the sony bridge app however there is no option to automatically sync photos?
I have to either group select the ones I want to transfer to iPhoto, or hit "import all" (would not recommend as it ending up creating duplicates of all my photos).
My only request is to connect the phone via usb and have my photos (both saved and camera) be transferred to iPhoto without any manual processes. I had a Nokia 925 prior to the Sony and syncing with my mac was surprisingly much easier!
If anyone could help that would be great, I just like to have a backup of all my photos just in case the phone decides to die on me.
Cheers
You could use autobackup on Google Photos or Microsoft OneDrive (30GB free now), that way it syncs online and you can have a copy on your Mac
I have a Netgear NAS so the mobile app auto syncs. Before that I used to use OneDrive, as it automatically adds everything on my PC.
i have a folder with a lot of high bitrate series that i want to sync to my phone in a two way sync but so far i've only found folder sync but that one is so broken and useless that it doesn't want to work it has the features but not the stable work flow. does any1 know if there is any two way sync apps that sync's with local storage via SMB?
