Oh wait, just recognized your avatar. You're the one who commented on the site and sent the not-so-nice email. In any event, an update has actually been released that may solve the issue you were having, if you are using the Vanilla, Moto, or HTC email client.
You are probably looking for all the features that 1x1 Ultimate Unread Widget offers, but if you are looking for some small laughs and love reddit, then you should try Forever Alone SMS Widget.
The downside is that this Widget ONLY does uncounted SMS.

Id like to know if its possible to install thale stock mail.apk and htc mail widget to a Nonsense Evo.

Specifically what are you looking to do? Non-sense ROMs should have a mail app. Not sure about widgets since I don't use mail widgets but do you just want something that displays emails on a homescreen widget?
Thats what im looking for. The stock rom has a mail widget where I can see my emails on one of the screens 4x4 size. Where I can check my 2 hotmail accounts and my gmail account.

Ive been using pure messenger. Looks a little nicer than the sense one, but can be a slight buggy with updating.
Ill give that a try. But more suggestions will ve read.

Sigh, I'm also looking for a solution to this. On stock I had the Sense email widget for my exchange emails and it was awesome. The lack of good 4x4 email widgets is appalling.
I've tried Pure Messenger but it requires K9 mail which I simply can't get to work with my server.
I've tried "email widget" from the market, had to do some terminal work to get it to install as a system app, and it works, but looks like crap, text is way too small and runs together.
Really missing that Sense email widget.

Since I'm playing more and more with my Desire and trying to beautify my home/lock screens, I'm looking for a (minimalist) widget showing the amount of missed calls, unread texts and unread mails. I know that I can simply use the handcent widget and that the market offers plenty of gmail widgets, but I really want them to have the same design.
Do you have any idea about this ?

ADW Notifier can get unread count from K9.
Running launcherpro at the mo, aint got round to using ADW yet, but thanks for the reply ;-)

Would like the count unread app be able to pick your own icon, unlike the sms and gmail apps.

HTC Sense has one built-in, but other than that, the only one I've ever found is the '1x1 Ultimate Unread Widget' and it costs $1 and requires root.
I've been searching for a far more customizable solution to no avail...

Cheers for the reply, but reading the reviews for 1x1 Ultimate Unread Widget i think i will give it a miss, but thats the basic grouds of what i am looking for, just have to wait and see if someone else finds one
SMS Unread Count also includes 1x1 widgets for email and is free. I used to use it for Gmail. On LPP so unread is now in the dock.

Yeah i know you can do it for gmail, but i'm looking to link another e-mail account sms unread count cant do this, and i would like to add my own icon, you can only pick from a few when you use this app.
I've been searching high and low, on the googles and on the forums for a widget like the HTC Message Widget/ Pure Messenger Widget but one that will show the last message in the conversation between myself and any other contact. Instead of just showing me the last message that each contact has sent to me.
Does anyone know of one? I can't believe that there are no widgets that can accomplish this out there somewhere.
I'm still looking, if anyone has any info on this I would greatly appreciate it!

I am looking for a widget that gives you a summary of different sources of info one may be interested in, such as email, sms, missed call, tasks, calendar events, rss feeds etc.
The best example of what I mean is something like SlideScreen (which is a launcher not a widget) or this hypothetical iphone app or widget or whatever this is: http://www.teehanlax.com/blog/iphone-needs-a-new-home/
