I've disabled TouchFlo 3D because it was slowing down my HTC Fuze (aka the Touch Pro's ugly stepsister). But I miss the Call History / Missed Calls line on the Home / Today screen. It would show "No missed calls" or "Missed calls: 1 ..." etc.
I've looked in Settings >> Personal >> Today >> Items but can't find anything that will display it. I seem to remember seeing a "Phone" item in there at one time, but don't have it anymore.
I've tried O2 Plus, but that just shows the last call made/received. And I see there are some programs out there that cost $$, but I'm looking for a free solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! (I've searched these forums and Google for an hour and can't find an answer -- maybe I'm just looking for the wrong thing??).

Have you tried SPB phone suite? It should give you what your looking for.

Sorry.....I seem to have overlooked the 'free solution part'....my bad. I think I remember seeing a freeware application that did stuff like this too. I'm looking for it. If I find it.....I'll let you know.
SPB
I looked at SPB Phone Suite but it provides way too much functionality... even when customized down to bare bones.
I'm looking into coding a custom solution myself... but it seems like a simple, free plug-in should be out there somewhere! Something like "Missed Calls: 2 - Voicemails: 1" would be really nice.
Well if anyone finds anything please feel free to let us know!!
EDIT: I looked at SPB Pocket Plus... not Phone Suite. Phone Suite looks pretty good... but again... I'd rather not pay for the simple functionality I'm looking for only to get more than I need or want!
Hi all,
I did not know where to place my question so here goes:
I have a iPhone clone thing T32+ interal GPS with Windows Mobile 6 on it.
Now, I don't like WM6. Is it possible to install some other OS? What about ANDROID?? Is that already available? I really don't like the keyboards available in WM6. What a job typing a SMS!!
Also, I can't change the text language to Dutch and therefore Dutch Word Suggestion while typing.
Let me know what you experts think.
Thank you
Windows mobile may be sort of gimpy out of the box but there is a lot you can do with it.
For instance, here is a nice pretty skinnable keyboard (skins on the same site) http://www.pocketcm.com/keyboard.php . More skins http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=330525 . Our two phones have the same screen. On my phone pocketCM set on big takes up about half of the screen. Easy typing.
Another nice one is happytapping.
If you want a different launcher / ui there are tons of them available too. Ifonz if you want to look like an iPhone. There are tons of others also. Just look for home screen replacement or launchers. My phone doesn't even resemble wm6 anymore. The fun of windows mobile is customizing it into what you want, and being able to change what it is like on a whim. Of course I guess if you want something functional out of the box there are definetly better choices. On that note, yes you are pretty much stuck with windows on that phone.
Hi,
Does anyone know of an app that will turn the windows contact manager into a series of buttons like the application menu.
It is still very fiddly looking through the contact list.
regards
Lee
I know what you mean. It's very difficult to select a contact because the font size is really small.
I don't know of any fixes but WM 6.5 will sort this out as it is made to be more finger friendly.
The WM 6.5 update is released in early October.
Man.
I dont really want to re flash my device with 6.5 TBH.
I was just hoping one of the developers on here had already done it. Or perhaps a recomendation of a 3rd party contact manager that does it.
I had a basic touchflow on my orbit 2 and that showed your favorite contacts as buttons. I found that really usefull.
Regards
Lee
Well - as for 3rd party software i think noone does it as good as SPB Mobile shell. although it completely alters your screen - no tabs etc etc

Look for SPB Mobile Shell - they have a tutorial video you can see before deciding.

Despite some minor improvement in 6.5 and 6.5.x in compare with 6.1, it’s so strange to me why Microsoft always forget some basic assumptions and doing very stupid modifications?! For example I cannot understand why in 6.5 and 6.5.x drop down start menu which is contained recent opened application is missed, while it was so useful!
Another Foolishness thing is the new lock screen! Why instead of locking the home screen or today screen which is contained user required information, a new lock screen created? And then due to the shortage of information in lock screen many developers are working to make it as complete as possible!? Also why there is a lock button just in Start menu page? If it’s useful to be available, why it does not exist in other pages?
Anyway, it’s always been fault of Microsoft! Day after day creating new things, but loosing basic concepts like ease of usage and simplicity. You can see this matter from moving from XP to Vista and then to W7!
I wish somebody were in Microsoft to listen to customers carefully and check their ideas by himself.
Well said....
I dunno, I disagree. While the recently opened apps was handy at times... it created a lot of clutter on the start menu.
As far as the lockscreen... the new one is awesome. It's VERY awesome. Try setting up an autolock after display goes out. The new lockscreen still displays calendar appointments and lists all missed notifications. It also has a call and alarm feature built in. Very awesome.
I admit the stock theme doesn't look appealing but I've skinned my lockscreen and it is very attractive.
I'm quite happy with just about all I've got, and everything on my phone is running stock. No skins, everything plain and OEM.
That being said, I didn't really play around with any WinMo phones with 6.1, but on a touchscreen device like mine, the almost everything about 6.5.x is better than earlier versions.
In Poland we have a saying: Employer pays just enought for you not to quit and you work just as much that you will not be fired.
microsoft makes crapy programs but good enought for us not to quit using it. And as long as we will be buing they will not get it any better.
To put it simple - im disapointed with my new TP2 because of new "obstacles" microsoft prepared... thnks to this forum most of them are gone alredy
Thread moved as it is not Development and Hacking.
Fully agree
Sorry all, but of a noob to all this WM6.5 rubbish, have a touch diamond2 and im not using sense as it bugs the crap outta me, but i was wondering, is there a program i could replace the crappy sms and email systems with so it looks a bit nicer?
Thanks in advance (if your useful that is! )
Moved as not software release.
Quite a few bits of sms and/or email software around if you're happy to pay for them. Take a gander here.
A free and fairly easy option is to "skin" the standard sms client which doesn't install new software, just makes the client you already have look a bit better. This thread talks you through how to do it (really not difficult).
