Thanks for your kind words everybody....Happy to help

Congratulations, this solution really works. By the way, "[WARNING] Do not flash a new official RUU/ROM/OTA if you have root and/or S-OFF" is now old news, so it can be removed. It does not do harm to install the OTA, people just lose root. It is possible to downgrade
Actually the thread should say something like: You can safely install RUU/ROM/(OTA*) if you have Radio S-OFF (other users too, but it takes more steps to downgrade then), but in any case you will lose root.
* OTA has been pulled by HTC

the guide to how to flash a rom on DHD is dead....

Can mods be abit more strict at moderating pls? thanks

Report the posts and we will see them, they remain hidden otherwise.

Added --> [GUIDE] Downgrade from 3.13 (Sense 3.0) roms

Sorting things out
Recently with all the new ICS roms and with the "old" Gingerbread roms it is becoming harder and harder to find the ROM that you are looking for. Maybe it is an idea to split the ROM development into gingerbread and ICS roms?
Just wondering if it is possible?

Good suggestion, I'll take a look at this. Thanks

Added Grant Barkers ROM list to the sticky.

This sticky is rather out of date. The thread index has moved and AAHK is retired.

Hi bro, i have created a kinda "all-in-one" guide HERE. it seems to be helping plenty of n00bs. It would be great if you want to add it to the Rollup Sticky Thread. Thanks
the guide is sequential: How to Install Drivers, ROOT, Un-ROOT, Install ROM's, Fonts, Apps, etc.

i have seen requests for this too. if you like, i can put together a ROM's thread with all the links in it. this way they go directly to the original ROM thread which will include the Changelog. Haha, i like organization and simplicity too
i went and created a ROM's thread anyway. if want to add it to the "Rollup".... HERE ya go

[Q] How to S-on HTC Desire S after Revolutionary S-off to make OTA update to Sense3.0

Here is the question, that many people interested (i think so):
how to install last OTA update from HTC (not to flash dev ROM) on Revolutionary S-offed Desire S?
From different threads i read, that there is 2 ways:
1. Change HBOOT to 0.98.2002 (but it needs to wipe all the data?) and run update.
2. S-on device (what is the best way to do it?) and run update.
For example, my device conf.:

The "all-in-one-location" XDA Skyrocket General Info/Root Method/Kernel/ROM Thread!
Welcome all SGSII-Skyrocket owners (and anyone else)!
My purpose is to help organize some general info, root methods, kernels, and (constantly updated) ROMs into one thread with links. I do not take credit for ANY work posted in this thread as they should be given to their respective creators (and porters). Also, I am not responsible for any action(s)/damages you take that are from flashing or changing your device from the way you received it when it was purchased. So basically what you do with the information you find here is on YOU!
I hope that ALL questions and requests related to linked content will be posted in the appropriately linked thread(s). Hopefully, we can keep this organized and easy to read and update. Any dates are in a "MM.DD" format and are derived from the most recent date the OP of each thread was updated (in a subtle attempt to continue having devs update their OP any time they update their creations...though our devs seem to be cooler and smarter than the rest IMO ).
[General Information]

[ROMs]
(With our Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket gaining more attention and ownership, I expect our current developers...THANK YOU!!!!...to gain some new developers that will add to the growing list of available ROMs. There are other ROMs out there (not many) but I didn't want to post links to other forum sites. So instead, I will say this is not a complete list of available ROMs but it is all of them available on the XDA Developers SGSII Skyrocket Forums. NO links will go directly to the downloads, instead they will link to the threads. This will hopefully force people to see any instructions and warnings that are related to those ROMs directly from their creators.)

Thanks for your input. Where do you think it should be? All the linked threads (besides one) are located within the Development section so imo a compilation (or index if you will) should be in the dev section too and at the top. Also, this isn't the first thread of it's kind. I'm sure you've seen a thread like this in each of the dev forums just to bring some kind of organization to the many roms and dev related convos/discussions.
If there is a better place for it to be then run it by the Moderators and see what they think.

Thank you for starting this. I think this does belong in the Development forum and should be stickied once it gets where it needs to be.
Anywho, my suggestion is to add a section for CWM-flashable modems. There are only a couple of baseband versions out now but I'm sure that as time goes on and more updates/leaks come out that people will want the ability to use the one they want with whatever rom.
Ok I'll take a look for the threads when I get off work and add them ...or you could be a pal and PM me the links so I can add them easily. Thanks for your help and opinion!
I will keep this in the development section. Looks like some useful information pertaining to development. Guides are allowed if they are kept up to date

Should we organize the roms by date updated (most recent placed at top of that section) or should we organize it by ciq/no ciq? I'm currently leaning towards by date but it's a valid question.

just saying...
Seen these threads made before (i.e. GSII i-9100) and the usual rules of [Dev] section is "If you didn't build it yourself, it doesn't belong in the Dev section." Since this is more a [Ref]erence... then....
but its always up to the moderator.
Either way, this is a useful thread
Lets keep this one here, it will hopefully stop some usual questions and give some answers
Yeah I got u cue, I really wanted to plan ahead for this forum and help out the Mods to keep it structured.
Again, if you see anything I can add to this please post or pm me. Also, maybe a message to some of the devs that haven't posted their roms here might be good idea to encourage them to create a thread here on XDA and show that we're being pretty pro-active on making the most out of our awesome device. Thoughts on that?
Please put in chronological order from most recently updated to oldest updated.

I thought the dates after each one would be enough considering the way us programmers are. A dev could revise a rom multiple times in one day, and I go off the date the OP is updated. But, if y'all really want that then um...ok. Anyone else agree with Dan?
Good thing. Maybe you can add links for stock kernel and rom for both Roger and AT&T.
thanks

[HELP THREAD] HTC Sensation | Ask any question | Noob friendly.

Hi guys. Had this idea for a while. There are a lot of people joining xda on daily basis, and there are a lot of repetitive questions being asked which fill up Development threads. Point them here.
First thing first. I strongly advise you to read THIS thread before posting ANYTHING on XDA.
Then, have a quick look at the links at the bottom of this post. You might find what you need right away.
Third. Even if you do get your question answered, please, do come back and read the links in this post to educate yourself. You'll be surprised how much time and frustration it will save you in the future.
ASK ANY QUESTION HERE,adb, drivers, superCID etc...... You will either get an answer or will get pointed in the right direction.

There is no way you can FAQ everything and to keep FAQ up to date is pain in the ass. Treat this thread as a chat.
Why wouldn't you SuperCID?
I put a question in the firmware/partition thread yesterday, still no answer so I'll kick off by asking it again.
I see a lot of people getting trouble with their CID when installing firmware, and the firmware package is constantly updated with new CID's, however it seems prudent to become SuperCID anyway.
Is there a reason for not wanting SuperCID? From my understanding it's just a "label" in the phone, so it doesn't affect signal strength / how good your radio works etc. So it seems weird to want to avoid SuperCID. Am I right?
The only reason I can think of is in case of warranty returns or so. But why are so many (with a working device) trying to install firmware with their original CID then?
I hope someone understands my question.

Thanks for offering to help. I am seeing a trend here that questions are simply ignored. I am a beginner in this 'root' thing. Though I successfully rooted my previous phone HTC Desire.
I had asked a query in the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436663 but nobody has answered it.
I will be obliged if you could kindly answer my question. TIA!

Yes you are right, If you want to go back to S-on sometime (which you'll only want in case of warranty returns), you'll need official firmware/hboot. However, S-on is a dangerous process, people have bricked their devices doing it.
The official firmware from that thread can be used for other purposes as well (If you're phone works better, you can switch to stock ROM/firmware and leave it S-off), but if you're not having troubles, I see no need to do that.
Also, you can make a NANDroid backup of your phone after you have rooted/S-off/CWM, so switching to Stock ROM won't be a problem.
For now, I wholeheartedly recommend Custom ROMs with the appropriate firmware.

Thats exactly what I wanted to know. The RUU posted in the thread is 1.45.720.1 and my phone is 1.45.720.2. Where can I get exact RUU? And if ever I want to go back to stock can I use the 1.45.720.1 on my phone which is 1.45.720.2?

No good reason not to superCID. Its just as easy to return to your previous cid.

S-on goes wrong if you do it on rooted phone only by the looks of it. Although, any of this nodding businessis potentially dangerous, all you can do is to learn as much as you can to minimise possibility of a brick.

Easily reversible to your previous cid, same command as to superCID

From here:

And usually if you use an earlier RUU it will prompt you eventually for an OTA that will get up back to where you belong.

HTC Sense tweak
Hello there! Can I somehow replace standart all programs viewer with something other? I need folders, because it's not useful when you get the whole stuff at once. But I also like standart home screen, so i just need to replace action of all programs button.

Do you mean can you replace the launcher with something that is different/more compact?
You can always try a different desktop launcher like Go Launcher or ADW but you will lose your ability to use Sense widgets. I don't know of anyone that has modified Sense Launcher to allow folders.
I don't want other launchers - sense stock is good, but I need something other for all programs menu - actually i've found AppFolders.
I just want to remap action on left button to app folder, for example. Is it possible in sense?

It is completely possible as the EVO people have done it as so:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1148978
But I don't see that option in the mod forums for us. I would even ask tommytomatoe how to do it for the Sensation.

Cyanogen updates are like Fight Club.
Rule number 1. You don't talk about Cyanogen updates.
Rule number 2. You don't talk about Cyanogen updates.
That aside.....CM9 is being worked on. That's the only update there is. It'll get here when it gets here. (And yeah...I'm drooling with anticipation too and it drives me bonkers that I have no idea when we'll get to see it But that's the way Cyanogen rolls.)

[Q] Noob Questions here!

Hi everyone!
I need some information here. I just bought new HTC Desire S.
1] What do you mean by ROOT?
2] Why should i root my HTC Desire S?
3] What do you mean by S-OFF and S-ON?
4] If i installed custom ROM, can i still re-use or revert it to the default ROM?
5] What ROM / HTC Sense Version / Android Version should i install in my HTC Desire S?
============
HTC Desire S info:
Android Version
2.3.5
HTC Sense Version
3.0
Model number
HTC Desire S S510e
Thanks a lot!
Looks like you need to read more and post less. All the info is out there, and Google is a good guide.
One general guideline, though: until you understand what things are and what they're good for, don't touch your phone.
READ all the guides/tutorials and you'll have your answers
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186401
If you don`t want to be a noob read more and ask less.
Go to Index thread. Close this. Thanks.
no permissions
I wanted to post a bug in the development section in the MIUIzero Rom thread. I guess i don't have enough posts or something like that. Could anybody give me the permissions or do I have to create 10 more or less useless posts elsewhere?
Well, you could try finding 10 useful things to say... Please... Or don't post in the dev section at all; that limit is there for a reason, not just to force you to make 10 useless posts...
