Sorry to do this, but I accidentally uninstalled Facebook for HTC sence (and didn't back it up). Can come post the apk so that I can re-install it. I only want it for the contact syncing service, and since I am running IncRom right now, it won't sync without it.
I appreciate it ahead of time, for anyone that can help.
The APK isn't publicly available. You'll have to do one of the following: install a shipped ROM and re-root or install a ROM that is Sense based and use that ROM.
If you just want to sync contacts download the Facebook for Android app. It's free and does the same exact thing you want it to do with a hell of a lot less hassle.

Sir, you are a golden god. I thank you and am forever in your debt.
No problem, buddy! Glad it worked for you. Don't worry: I forgive you of your debt

Just an FYI, but it doesn't with many sense based Roms. I tried using the market app AND the downloadable from the browser to no avail.
Again, a big thanks for the APK.

For everyone who was weary to remove the bloatware on their 2.2 install throught ADB:
I have just received an email from Joel Bourquard, dev on TiB, and he's just sent me a test version of an updated TiB that works on our phones with the 2.2 update. I have it to give out to those who want it and told me to expect it in the market for download soon.
Edit: Totally just realized I got click happy and placed this in the Dev section. If a mod could move it to Apps and Themes that'd be great. Or if it stays here, I don't know
Edit2: Here is the link for the updated test version: link removed, available in market

Was there word on if the current donate code will work on the updated version? I will test this out as well if you want to pm it or send a link. Thanks.
Donate keys work for all versions of TiB, once you have one, there is no need to get another one. I edited my OP to contain the download link.
Thanks. I'm a donor. Just a little weirded out that he isn't sharing it himself and I downloading it through a third party.

I promise you that is the link from the email. I can post the transcript if you would like. Also, www.matrixrewriter.com is Joel's site if you would like to go visit for yourself.
Works Perfectly. Thanks!
Of course it does! Joel is probably one of the best devs in the Android community
I am digging the blue outline of apps that were frozen. I don't remember seeing that in the previous version. I am confirming I have this working as well. Thanks for posting!
Works like a charm. Thanks for sharing!
+1 It is back to working awesome!!! I will def be donating to this guy very soon. One of the best apps out there.
Oh no worries. Thanks for this, really.

super awesome! thanks so much for this
Don't thank me! I didn't write the app, I just sent him the required info from our phone. You guys should be thanking Joel by donating! He's a great guy and an even better dev, and definitely has one of the best apps in the market.

Its not a zip file. Its an apk file. If it appears as a zip file after download change the file extension back to apk.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it then, you did it wrong. What size file is your settings.DB file? If its anything less then 34kb then you did the mod wrong.

The update is now available @ the Android Market. Thanks Joel!!!
Hi,
attached is the new version of gmail.
with friendly greet
starbase64
i have rooted Desire with AuraxTsense rom ... g mail is "locked" to the rom so i can't uninstall it or update...
is possible to have a renamed .apk (just like for googl maps "brut modded") so i can install both and then use the updated one? or where i can found it? tnx
I have this on my Vibrant but it still doesn't have the priority inbox feature.
I managed to find the apk on one of the Samsung forums shortly after its announcement - using a MIUI build on my HD2, and it didn't like pasting the new Gmail over the old one in /system/app/, nor removing the old one and pasting the new one - it was still showing the previous version without the priority inbox and so forth. To fix this, I had to restore the original Gmail apk that I'd backed up, then clear data from the settings/applications menu, then paste the new apk, then install over it from the market.
Native Android users will need to be rooted to do this, if it wasn't obvious.

You should be able to remove the original with Titanium Backup, then you should be good to go.
You people do know that this is available from the Market, and will update the version in your phone's /system folder just fine.
Right?

Apparently they don't... I updated it yesterday here from the market, although I don't use the GMail app at all...
The update is not yet available to everyone. TBH I cannot see most of the Google apps in the market myself.
This is just an opportunity for those less fortunate to mess around with it.

This won't work on 2.1 right?
Hi, I am running on Myn's RLs 5, I removed sense from my evo, but was wondering can i just install HTC Sense for Facebook alone. I believe I know how to find the file in myn's and extract it but will it install and run properly. I have been running the rom since its release but having facebook contacts makes my life easier. Thanks
it should work. Just reinstall it as a system app.

New Version! Lost another Pound!
Based on paulobrien de-odex rom. Big Thanks.
I did this rom, because i was not fully happy with the alternative rom. Always something bad. But i love this one.
However this rom is not a benchmark killer or extreme battery saver (even if it's great), it is just stable and lite with no extra program.
What's inside?
Custom rom 100% stable
lightly tweak
lightly optimize
Zero compression 4bit alignment method (No FC)
No battery drain (on system apps)
Battery improvement?
Fully automatic updater-script
Zero bloat and still 100% functionnal
And much more
Note:There is 2 extra programs (TitaniumBackup, and Total commander), i needed them for debugging and testing. There are user app, you can delete without any special permission if you don't like them.
After the initial set-up you can delete HTCSetup.Wizard.apk.
How to install?
Download MT4GS_Lite_1.2.3-111127CL.zip @ http://minus.com/mt4gs-dsl
In recovery Mode select
install from ZIP
Yes
Reboot
Setup google account and/or email (remember no gmail)
Reinstall your favorite applications
Once all your applications are loaded, you REBOOT!
If you like, there is a thanks button bellow.
Any bug reports or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks and Enjoy your DoubleShot Lite!
Can this be installed using the new recovery? I like the idea of this rom and want to try it but I have the official recovery installed right now.
It should not be a problem. I have no problem with 4.0.0.9, so i didn't update (yet)
Sounds interesting, I'll give it a go.
I just figured out how to flash any of the roms with the new recovery. With the older roms you just have to mount the system and data yourself before you flash and it works perfect.
Looking forward to playing with this.
Always happy to see someone else giving us more toys to play with - thanks!
Very nice. Good, simple base for people who must have everything "just right".
version 1.1.3 is available
Does the whole thing need re flashed or just update over the existing?
Doesn't matter, it will format everything.

Got a change log by any chance?
Mostly Remove a lot of Orphan files.
Optimize, clean -> feel a little bit smoother.
On fresh install, you should have between 300-320meg free and still 100% functional.
So nobody like the DoubleShot anymore?
Give it time bro =D.

1:
GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk
GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk
2:
GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk
GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk
Gmail.apk

I just recently switched to an AOSP based ROM, and I incorectly thought that the Tasks app was a google app when it was actually an HTC app. I can't find the APK anywhere, and it would be great if someone could get me a copy of it.
