If you do want to upgrade your Bootloader, look here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Bootloader
(You probably should, there is likely a reason that there is a new version...)
Either way: If its not broken, don't fix it!
(Although, that doesn't really apply on these forums)

If you are using BL 0.6 and you can still upgrade, it a little supprised. The reason is that many has got problem upgrading new ROMs using BL 0.6.
Most ROM can upgrade using BL 1.0 except Jasjar ROM which need BL 1.01.
Anyway I will not risk to try it to brick my Universal after seeing the feeback in various threads.
By the way, this is not a thread to discuss BootLoader only.

I screwed up...
Hi guys,
While trying to update the rom Windows Vista installed a driver and the update went crazy...
Now I'm stuck with grey screen with a progress bar sticking to 0%
When I reset (taking the battery out) I get a screen with three gradient colors (red/green/blue from top to bottom and some text:

IPL 2.20.0002
SPL 2.20.0000
I'm stuck! Any good ideas?

Ok, took out the memory and fixed it...
But now I get a Rom error at 2%

In my opinion, full version have all utilities i need.

One thing I do ask though. It shows 23/03/08 as the date, but it is really 23/02/09 right now?
And I believe the removal was because MSoft did not like the 6.5 leaks, from what I remember when I first joined here, there was a similar problem that caused a lot of roms to be removed.
Anyway, looking forward to your rom.

Just out of curiosity, I notice you always say to flash 3.56 if you have tilt... and 3.29 if you have other version of kaiser... is this just for your rom in particular, or do you feel this best for all roms? I tried searching the spl thread, but couldn't find any info on this. I use 3.29 with my tilt and have had no problems. Thanks for any info you can provide!

I personally have never had any issue with the 3.29 SPL on my AT&T Tilt. Nor have heard of any wives tales or anything that says otherwise really.

for any rom from experience not nothing special.. i have good tester in USA with TITL and says: with 3.56 run better.. and many other people propably with htc,vodafone,t-mobile,... ... says the 3.29 is better..
If HSPL is something like Motherboard Drivers.. i'm right.. because Titl don't have front camera.. and maybe something else.. i don't know..

I can't hit the link. Rapidshare keeps complaining about a rogue ip address.

I'm still having trouble with the rom draining my battery extremely fast. I am using a US ATT Tilt, flashed it to 3.56 hardspl then flash the rom. but battery is still draining pretty darn fast. what else can I try? I'm using the 1.70 radio also.

I don't have so much time and this wm6.5 release every week new build..
so i try this RTM directly from Microsoft..
also this coming from JOSH -TPC kitchen.. i use it for first time and is very good.. but this one is fast release and i have leave something stuff from Josh
THE ROM IS LITE including CHOME
The rom is very fast.. really.. in many stuff i think is faster or same than WM6.1 but have much slower rotate screen..

The other is a problem with Weather Watcher Mobile & IE combination. on other roms (including the RTM) the weather was displayed corectly (all information fited on the screen). with this rom the information does not fit (it is wider than the screen and cannot scroll). the info is rendered via Internet Explorer.
Edit: changed "\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Viewport Width" to 240 (was 1024...)
Edit: changed "\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Viewport Height" to 320 (was 768...)
Edit: and now it is ok.
any help (espcially with the first problem, as the second is most probably a problem with the software not supporting this version of IE) is very appreciated.

*Before Flashing the ROM AthineOS
check this steps
1) must do SUPER CID (if you have do this already go to No2)
2) flash HSPL 3.29 if you have TITL flash 3.56 (if you have do this already go to No3)
3) flash one radio of this 1.65.xx.xx or 1.70.xx.xx or 1.71.xx.xx
start the testing from 1.65.24.36 niki radio find the best for you and your network (if you have do this already go to No4)
4) flash the rom
*If you ON MEDIA.NET
try this after conection setup.cab and disable proxy.cab

You can use the one from Josh (back from old post at old Athine thread). That one works on 6.5 .. (assuming he uses the same as what he published on his kitchen)
I'm not sure if TPC's recent Topaz build has the same dll or not because it works initially but then after I re-install my apps (the same old ones I use), and not directly related to apps (I suspect related to how the startup items being run), suddenly it stopped working.

Rom is running incredible fast. I tried iPhoneToday and I got the fastest speed ever. However, whenever I change theme to classic blue, style of windows changes to WM 6.1 and I can't get 6.5 style anyway (menu, scrollbar, highlight, tab...).
Solution, anyone?

Amazing work putting all the links together now newbs like me don’t have to search for hours to find something, but I was just wondering if someone has tried cooking a rom with these new fancy antitheft softwares…..
All the research I conducted indicates that no one has tried it yet but having a Universal with those feature would be a nice idea. As long as the concern of saving owner information is concerned we can may be configure something like “smart protect” into one of Tomal’s 6.1 roms e.g. 21048, as the lite version is compatible/flexible with all kind of devices, and direct the smart protect to save all the owner sim information on “flash drive” as that stays un-effected during a hardreset. I don’t know if there are any conflicting technical issues with this but it sure would be nice to see something of the sort.
May be Orb, Tomal or other experts can shed some more light on this issue.

I know some of the links posted here no longer work.
I am asking the help from everybody to update the more we can
Jonny also is making a great work here so perhaps instead of duplicating thread we can join forces and get with an updated list.

All the research I conducted indicates that no one has tried it yet but having a Universal with those feature would be a nice idea. As long as the concern of saving owner information is concerned we can may be configure something like “smart protect” into one of Tomal’s 6.1 roms e.g. 21048, as the lite version is compatible/flexible with all kind of devices, and direct the smart protect to save all the owner sim information on “flash drive” as that stays un-effected during a hardreset. I don’t know if there are any conflicting technical issues with this but it sure would be nice to see something of the sort.
May be Orb, Tomal or other experts can shed some more light on this issue.

sorry to rain on your prade but Tomal has moved on. and Orb i dont think cooks roms.
your could ask:

That is correct, we have many great ones, perhaps not as active as other section.
I´ve seen great stuff from Asian Chefs, where active sector for Universal is bigger than in west, very nice stuff.
If I go cooking will have no more time to be around as I normally do

there's no such thing. oem for Uni is only WM5
