This is an unmodified build of Android source (donut branch) for HTC Magic/Sapphire 32A devices, without any modifications (except for kernel and binary drivers).
I am posting detailed description and files here:

I fear it gets lost in the other kernel thread so I create a new topic here.
Maybe someone from the kernel pros like to test this round_jiffies patch. It could help the kernel using less watts ...

Moving to General
Hi all,
#############################
My apologies. I posted this question in "General" first. Shame on me! I didn't find how to move or delete it there, so I decided to post here, in the correct section, again. If an Admin is reading this, I would be happy to delete the post in the "General" section if you tell me how to do it. Thanks!

I want to build Android from source and install it on a device. Simple build runs successfully so that I assume the environment is set up correctly. Question is: Is there a dependency between Android and the kernel version, i.e. do certain Android versions require certain kernel versions? Do I need to update the kernel on a device before installing a new Android version?
Thanks a lot!!
Mike
Hi,
I've read that finally we (ace plus users) are starting to have a 3.0 kernel :good:.
I've also read that with 3.4 kernel, linux introduced better support for ARM SoCs.
Googling, I've found that 3.12 kernel introduced adreno gpu support.
My question is: what are the steps needed to port a linuk 3.0x kernel to 3.12? I'd like to know what are the common Android related problems, and vendor device related.
I know that my question isn't very clear, and that could require a "long" answer but any informations or links will be appreciated
Thank's in advance
Marco
