I am getting strange battery life.. I'm running kp1 modem with andromeda and speed mod kernel, and my battery will not last me a day with light usage. (some xda browsing, tweetdeck, texting) I've deleted battery stats and fully discharged and then recharged and that is what these screen shots are from. Any ideas?

Well for what ever reason, a Kernel/Modem/ROM setup on one device might not have the same "Super Battery Sipper" effects on another.. It's all about trying out what works best for YOUR device.
So start playing with Kernel/Modem combo's unless you want to change your ROM.
Unfortunately there is no set science for some reason

If you're using an older version of speedmod, make sure the battery tweaks are enabled under the recovery menu.

I've tried everything, I've used jpy, jj4, and ji6 based roms, cognition, perception, andromeda, cezars... And I am using the most up to date kernel from hardcore. I'm using the kp1 modem for now but I've tried all the other modems and only jk4, jl2 and jk3 work well. I'm also using the lowest brightness setting and juice defender. I get about a day out of out with light usage..

[Q] Is my homescreen effecting my battery life?

Quick question.
Im running ICBINB KI3 1.3 UV and am not getting the best battery life with moderate usage. Battery last me a day tops.
Which of course is still miles ahead of stock.
My question is, is my homescreen too heavy? As far as too many apps and widgets?
Any help or advice is appreciated. thanks for looking.

i calibrate after every rom flash. ive never gotten close to the advertised battery life except with ICBINB KI3 1.5
update to the latest, and back to where i was.
im undervolted at 1.3, i use JD with custom settings, and keep my screens brightness at 10 consistently..
Could the way you flash a rom affect its battery life?
you can put your screen brightness to the lowest or to automatic. also, if you have a black or very dark wallpaper, it will affect the battery less. pure black with have very little battery consumption.

Unusual Undervolting

Is this just me, or is this unusual? I find it hard to believe it can UV -200mv... It's running perfectly stable...
-200mv
-125mv(216mhz) If I undervolt it to -130mv(216mhz) i get sod prob 25% of the time..
Using Kang 7.2.0 12/21 rom
Trinity Kernel 1.56ghz
I just did the same....so far so good

I thought my setcpu was glitching. :/
If anyone have the faux kernel, can they post the stock voltage for it?
Edit: seems like I have to use -195mv insteaed of -200mv.. For some strange reason I keep freezing, and getting sod once my battery is below 30%..
Didn't think it could be stable that know thanks! Did this for dragon kernel 1.5.2 and all is well.
My battery drops 2-3% for every 8houf using this undervolh and using screen off profile to limit it to 216mhz.
Different phones have different stability with UV, mine doesn't handle faux kernel too well. I believe his UV kernel is pre-adjusted to -50 across the board.

Power saver ROM

hi.
i have installed "codename android",great ROM,only one problem:
Battery goes very fast.
can i get a suggation for good rom, that save power?
or should i just install kernel, that will give the option to OC/UC/UV,but stay on STOCK ROM?
BUMP
When you say battery goes fast what do you mean?
How long does your battery normally last?
Does it drain the battery quickly while in sleep mode?
Or does it drain quickly while using it? Could you post screenshots of your battery usage like so?

I was going to suggest it, I just wanted to see what he considers bad battery drainage.
Some people have high expectations.
I use Team EOS Rom and I have 0 problems...try it

Do all of the clean roms give the same battery life

Title is the question just wondering or does
Se or lite or de have different battery lives thanks

Lite Rom v2. I use quick setting and turn off auto sync and mobile network when not needed. And add two hours to that time. I had a reboot and it took two hours off.

In theory, having a more "lightweight" ROM with less processes in the background should use less battery. But kernel and radio have as much (if not more) to do with battery life than just the "style" of ROM. In particular, if the radio you are on is not the optimal for your location, it may drain your battery much more than anything else. And there are so many other variables that determine battery life. Its best you do some trial and error on your own to figure out what ROM, kernel, radio gives you the best battery vs. performance vs. features for your own particular needs.

Do kernels have to set in?

I just installed Lean Kernel on CleanRom 5.0 and it seems like my battery life just went out the door. Does the Kernel need time to settle in or should I just go back to the built in Kernel. Also I noticed that I cannot get it to say fully charged. It continues to charge at 100% no green light either it stays red as if its charging.

Kernels don't set in.
There's other things that might be running that will eventually settle down, like media server.
I've always used stock tw or cm kernels, but what do i know
