I know that we just got a custom recovery but it is not perfect and beleive me that i am working on getting a full rom for you guys to load but please enjoy this awesomeness in the meantime
Remember that the root method and bat script were originally made by joeykrim and noobnl. these guys have done more than an awesome job of setting us up as root users
it will be out to the public in 3-4 days.

Here is what this ROM thingy does:
gives permanent root
uses my speed and battery optimized frameworks with moderate theming to rid of the ugly
transparent notification pulldown
using my default ringtones
using my default wallpaper
themed launcher
removed touchwiz and all apps associated with touchwiz launcher
removes alot of sprint/samsung bloat apps (dumb apks)
using my custom kernel which is overclocked
kernel adds 600mhx step to avoid overaggressive changes
undervolted cpu
tweaked conservative governor to scale up and down faster for better speed/battery
kernel is undervolted
slight edits to cpq for speed
circle battery indicator
added htc ime to sdcard
config edits on kernel for speed
version with andromeda kernel
problems:
with my current kernel the phone has a hard time booting. it may boot the first time everytime but it also might boot loop. I advise to try to put the phone to sleep right when the lockscreen comes up.
also with the undervolt you might notice the phone being a little bit slow to wake from sleep mode but the undervolt has helped alot on battery.
**I would still recommend this kernel as I have been running it for like 5 days and its really good. all the issues will be fixed soon
i do not beleive these problems arise on noobnl's kernel so i included his in a version.
things you need:

i strongly. i mean very strongly recommend you start from scratch. meaning use odin to restore back to the stock phone.

I used your rom a lot for the evo, it was excellent, only thing I would change is adding the % to the circle battery.
Welcome to the final release of Froyo, by the CCRoms team, which means you guessed it, we're switching gears to Gingerbread after this release. With this release we managed to get the Evo/Emerald going as intended(sorry for the wait.) The Galaxy S style pulldown power widget has been implemented in this release as well. Gem settings have been completely re-written as well, to provide a more intuitive and easier to understand interface for everyone, and of course bug fixes abound.

Note:
Droid X users, at this point there is nothign more we can find to do to improve battery life. When/If the battery starts to drain fast, gets sluggish, or gets hot, reboot the phone this will put the race condition causing all of these problems back to sleep, unfortunately there is no way to put the process back to sleep once it wakes up and if you kill the process kernel panics and the phone reboots anyway.

This is a pretty solid rom. I tried it out back when the first Evo alphas showed up. We just haven't seen this dev much in the evo world.
If it means anything to people, Cyanogen even follows the original dev. He also posted about the dropdown a while back.

pretty solid completely aosp rom. i like the how the notification button widget can scroll like on miui and galaxy s. only feature still missing in cm7.

To be fair, i never said there's no way of ever getting 4G to work, i just said that there's no way to get it to work on this release of Emerald as I haven't looked into any of the work cyanogen has done with it. As I recall the wimax work they have been doing is still very alpha.
Regardless, I also don't ever recall toting myself as "great" either, so I don't really appreciate the sarcasm. I work hard to try to produce something that I feel is worthwhile and people might enjoy. Nothing more and nothing less.
Just flashed. Running pretty nice. Wish there was a clear vm option though. Im one of the unlucky phantom vm icon recipients. Otherwise very nice.

I'm so used to CM it is hard for me to get away, but this is a really nice clean ROM. It was probably the best non-CM AOSP build I have tried, and it doesn't have the little bit of theming that CM has. It lacks some of the special features of CM, but adds some cool ones, like a built in WiiMote app.
Kudos to the gem team.
I remember hearing about this rom awhile back. Doesn't hurt to have options for AOSP roms

i've used the emerald rom and it was very very nice!
I tried the alpha a few weeks ago...not quite ready for daily use, at that time...now, however, the rom looks a lot more polished.
I'm still a big fan of Ultimate Droid for my Evo, but this is another nice option.
Okay, so first thing first, the kitchen is awesome. I'm surprised no one else has jumped onto it.
Secondly, I know I have to fix up other ROMs to pure awesomeness, but school is buttraping me and I barely have time to do anything that actually requires thinking.
That all being said, I want to launch my own open beta team. I don't have all the time to test everything and fix everything on my own. As part of the beta team, you can test and even send in fixes for the ROM. Sadly I have to depend on others ATM, but school is soon coming to a close and it gets terrible at this time.
Now with the good stuff
This ROM is another port, it's a modified version of Sense 2.1. Came from the Desire HD. Still cooking right now, but I'll be out with it in a few moments (assuming it works; if it doesn't, we try a new ROM. )
It's coming soon, so be patient! And if you'd like to beta test, help, drop hints, or anything, just say so, all help is appreciated

hey good luck with it.. i have just ported this myself and it has issues that r kernel related. this rom is uses ext4 make sure u edit ur ramdisk, u need to make init.glacier.rc for ext3 or else it will not boot. camera is really choppy and lacking trackpad wake.. i didnt go much further with testing... so if u need help with anything let me know, ill be happy to do what i can

Dude, I love you. (no homo). But you posted that too late. I flashed it and it didn't boot so I wen't back to my other ROM (just to sit there). I'll try that out, this ROM was incredibly sexy.

Well I can't release it yet :x it doesn't boot.. If I release it, I'd be making your devices a shiny fixable paperweight (although this does make a good paperweight).. I can't remember where i had even seen init.glacier.ro .. the kitchen does most of the work, but getting it to boot is my job.. once it at least boots, I'll release it hopefully it'll be by tonight. After that, I'll head back to RCMixGlacier to fight round two with the camera.

The RCMixGlacier went pretty well, minimal issues. This on the other hand is an ass kicker.
If you're looking testers, I'd be happy to jump on board... Just learning to use the kitchen myself, but will give you all the help I can...

what kernel r u using? did u modify the ramdisk correctly? it will boot, i alread had it booted...

ICS Mutt vTESTER 3. Still needs some smali/baksmali and a look at a few of the .apks.

Added old version of swype to fix keyboard issue (temp fix)

Hopefully fixed phone.apk and contacts.apk

CM7 will probably work first, then after a week or more, MIUI willost likely work, then ICS. Because bhundven and raver, maybe me, will probably help Thomas with the kernel and more.

I wish we had that many devs on our phone
Oh well, if we had more on cm7, it will help us collect more info on our phone so we can try a port to ics or aosp, or whatever...
Think of cm7 as a 'information collector' we can use to do new projects in the future.
I'd love to hop on this project, but I can't handle that much multitasking. I think we'd get further with more people on cm7, and then later do an ics port.

I have recompiled this thing 22 times now and still cannot get it to work. The biggest accomplishment I have made was getting it to boot and the setup wizard to display. But have not gotten past that.
I don't know much about kernels, but the way you and team acid have laid things out for us, as well as having a little bit of time since I am on vacation now, I think I am giong to take a shot at it. But I still think there is A LOT more reading/learning I need to do first...lol

Just to update everyone. I managed to get fix a couple of things. When I hit the menu button while in setup wizard, I can get into the wireless menu. I was also able to navigate thru the setup wizard, but had no keyboard input my email/password. I found I was missing a key file for the keyboard and will fix it later. However, after navigating thru the setup wizard, the homescreen/lockscreen doesn't show. It's coming together, slowly but surely...

I installed swype and was able to get past the setup wizard properly.
I got the lockscreen to appear with a temp fix.
Still no homescreen, but I know where the problems lie and will be working on them tomorrow...

Hello guys, Just testing out a new rom.
It is made off 4 Kornerz ROM from Diablo67. It is call 4KMods, It is running original kernal but is compatible with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570308 which is the underworld Sense Kernal.
Edit:The release of the 4KCM7 ROM is here only because it is going to be the "Light Weight" edition, CM7 itself is not fully functional as of this post, but will be my main priority for initializing the same Webtop experience from the Atrix/Atrix2/Razr/etc..
^^Also, the 4 Kornerz ROM base I am working will be more of the "Working Class, get it done right" ROM, meaning everything works 4G video etc..

Currently looking in to a way to include ubuntu or similar to the ROM, as well as a terminal or terminal shortcut to boot into it, or even use it and boot to in for use with "WebTop" Desktop dock or similar.
I found WebTop mods that may be able to boot up on the Evo, might just include an ubuntu build script for easy install/download?

Just put CM7 into my Kitchen, and I will also be doing work on that, CM7 will be easier to do the built in ubuntu with as it is just pretty much a base, BUT I'll do minimal mods as far as CM7 goes.

ALSO you must download the GAPPS fix and flash that AFTER installing 4KCM7_Base_A1.

As of now it is just me testing the Kitchen, as I get more experienced, I will be changing the ROM into something new and exciting but I love getting peoples opinions on things so..

Well I am also learning scripting and such, Maybe add a "Webtop" Like feature as well..
idk does anyone have any ideas as far as features they want there Evo to do?
I am open to anything, and if i can do it, I will.

That would be freakin awesome. Someone did it a while ago, but its old. Would love to see what you could do.

Yeah, I was thinking using CM7 as a base if we were to include a "WebTop" Feature which I think we should call "The VIP Korner" Since you know I based it off 4 Kornerz ROM.
The problem is IDK what to use as far as scripts, where would I get a script that will download AND install ubuntu for you, Like an all-in-one script to do it and then include a terminal app to run it?

I would love to help, but sadly I know close to nothing about development. Would there be an issue with having terminal pre-installed, and then have the script within the ROM, and have the command to activate the script in the OP?

There would be no issues with that at all. In fact there is a rom like that for the HTC thunderbolt, but I have no idea how to port..
Why no ICS love? Whole lotta Gingerbread baking going on, not enough Ice Cream licking...don't be scurred! You wanna do something special, use ICS as a base and get creative!

Well bimmerman7,
I am not using ICS because it is still unstable for our device we are working on.
I will be using CM7 as the end product but I'll still be working on 4 Kornerz because to be honest I am loving the 4 corners he has put in the launcher.

How about 4Korners ICS! That would be tight! Have you flashed any ICS recently? The only thing not working is video recording, FFC, and 4G. Really unless you are a narcissistic a-hole how often do you really use it? If more people devved for Android 4.0 maybe these issues could be solved to...that's all I'm saying...We are 6 months into having ICS for our Evos and still dont have a fully functional complete ICS rom , its time to quit piddling with Gingerbread and move on....how many Sense 1.0 roms do we really need with a new launcher or rosies and mods...its like beating a dead horse...two guys can't be expected to do it all[Drew and Deck]
No offense Sandix, but its just more of the same...these threads are gonna die real soon...everybody that got Evos on launch day will be moving on in a couple months when they get their upgrade...just would like to see devs take on the challenge of ICS and give us the latest and greatest...no Froyo rom will ever be better than Myns or Magnus', no Gingerbread rom will ever be better than Synergy or CM7, what's next? Our biggest promise seems to be porting other phones ICS to our phones a la CM9 and Gummyworms...I would maybe focus on bringing the Evo something special and new if you are going to spend time devving for it.

For one thing brother,1.0 is the most stable right now,thats why we recreate it soo much,everything works.Yea everyone wants something new,but look at the roms you mentioned,like CM7 and Synergy,none of those are fully functional,this video dont work,that 4g is borked,theres only soo much you can do with something thats not made for our devices yet,so everyone always comes back to mr.dependable,thats 1.0.At least Sandix is doing something he likes,maybe he doesnt like ICS or Bliss,or maybe hes just learning and Sense 1.0 is the easiest to learn from,he asked me if he could use the design to work with,so i told him yes,because hes wanting to learn,i like to help people that want to help themselves.
Gingerbread would be good for me. Wish y'all luck ... oh yea why don't y'all bring liquidrush ,liquidE or liquid metal rom back to life. Using a gingerbread rom as base. ??

To everyone,
I will be moving downloads to mediafire, I'll zip up the 4kmodkornerz rom and upload there (200mb limit for free users..)
Also, if anyone would like to donate so I may purchase a premium account there (downloads are decent from mediafire) and its pretty cheap or if someone could host them on their own website or something I'd be very thankful.
bimmerman7 I can only speak for myself. I have tried a few ICS roms and while nice none are as fast as GB on my EVO and I have children and do use my camera and video recording quite a bit and it has nothing to do with being narcissistic it has to so with having videos to show the kids grandmothers and being able to talk face to face with a child who is away in school. I would like a fully working ICS but I bought the phone to use and I do. I personally appreciate both types of ROMS and their developers but at the end of the day there are things I need to do and the guys that are pumping out stable fully working ROMS have my gratitude the most.
