can we get this theme ported to the hero?

i love the look of this theme!

I really want that too. BTW, it doesn't need to be ported to the Hero, it needs to be ported to AOSP 1.6 so we can use it. Not just the Hero 1.6, the Dream/G1 and the Magic/MT3G.

its probably the best theme ive seen thus far.

it's called darkstar by freekyfroggy. it is the BEST android theme out there. 2nd is htc sense and 3rd is motoblur.

emerica, you're so awesome.
I've noticed that there is a GPS icon in your white taskbar, and it never goes away. When the phone is actally using GPS however, there are two GPS icons.

emerica, I have an archive of all of the eclair icons (resized for 320x480) that I will upload in the morning, I noticed the ones in that screenshot are lacking the dropshadow and the edges aren't as sharp

heres a quick little update everything is looking good i got the screen transition animations working just gonna play around with it for tonight and hopefully have a full darkstar-theme for the hero for you guys in the morning =)

I just had a thought. Could you also port this to AOSP 2.0? I'm sure a lot of the people that don't get SMS in 1.6 (like me) who use 2.0 would like to use this theme. Or, if you could tell me how to port it, I'll port it myself (save you the work )

I'm gonna step out on a limb here and guess that you just finished using the auto-rooter.

[THEME][UPDATE 04/16/2010]atoz darkstar mod

I decided to package up my phone's theme and layout into an update.zip since I have gotten so many positive reviews. It's simply the darkstar theme ported by TrevE with a few of my own mods done to it. It works with the Sprint release frameworks. Will not work with Legend ROMs. Flash it through recovery. Enjoy!

Are you using the animations from TrevE's theme? If so, I have the animations from the original port (slide up and under, etc) if you want to try them. I think they look a bit slicker and smoother than the others (no offense meant to TrevE, he did a great job w/ that theme).

Here you go. You can flash this straight over this theme. I've not altered anything but the animations (I pulled the necessary file straight out of the download and altered it, then made an update zip out of it), so it shouldn't undo anything.

I din't try this theme, but one that i did try which was for 2.1 ROMs really, really slowed down LWP.
Edit:Okay after trying again it was slow at first, but its working like it should now.

It's there. It changes the icon too, so you have to re-add it to your homescreen.

I love the font in this Theme. is there anyway i can i have that font or would flashinf Espresso work?

I'm downloading right now, just to snatch the font out of this. It's really tough to find a font that "fits" correctly. I'll post a flashable zip for you with just the font.
Edit: attached is just the font. flash through recovery and enjoy. However it seems to screw up some icons... missing a few things from the character set, i'm guessing? Otherwise, I love this. It reminds me of the symbian system font.

Hmm. . . I flashed it and it popped up for a sec and then went black until the phone loaded. Any thoughts?

I am also taking ideas for another boot screen.

How about one with the android peeing on and apple, those are usually pretty funny.

I'm going to look through that guide and see if I can make one my self tomorrow.

You cannot have any transparency in your image. I have compressed all your layers flat and gotten rid of transparency in the .zip below..it should work.

This gif image above will only load to black, it has tons of transparency. The gif is only rewriting the new parts of the image and the rest is transparent. You need to flatten each layer of the .gif and have zero transparency.
I fixed your new image and made it flashable in the zip below.

If you have any transparency in the image it will show static or black screen only.

i was actually thinking about some other colors but i want to get every thing i want changed first then start othe colors the .9 images are to long and complicated to change the colors right now or at least until i get a better understanding of them lol

What softare are you using and is there a way to run a batch edit for multiple files at the same time? I'm using Gimp 2.0 for Windows. Any details you can shed would be greatly appreciated! honestly i love the stock themes just hated the orange so i kinda cheated hah
i used apk manager to decompile the apks then went it mad the color edits i wanted via gimp and then recompiled the apks and unzipped the images to a .mtz zip i made what that does it lets you change the colors of .9 images without having to redo the whole bs

Anyone have a Star Wars bootanimation? Something from IV, V, or VI? Something having to do with Vader or anything Dark Side-ish. Ive seen the Stewie one, but I was wanting more of an authintic / Sleek look.

Thanks. Ill check it out. Im at work and youtube is blocked but Ill slap it into my bootanimation folder and see how it looks. Ill let you know.

I used ES File Explorer to place on my systme and the clip is good, but when it loops the video the picture seems to resize and jump before looping again. Like I said I couldnt check the youtube clip, but thats just about what I was looking for. Thanks!

i try and take a look at the resizing issue a little later and i, ll post the fixed up verison
edit: found the lone pic that made it look like it jumped, posted the fix verison in the op. got to love batch converison

i can change that, and as to your ? earlier, i use gimp to crop,resize(getting photoshop this week)and keepvid.com to dl youtube clips and pngoptimizer to clean up png

if on sense based rom you dl the one with .zip in the end
if on asop rom(cm7,ect)use media.zip. you put on sdcard goto recovery, wipe cache,dalvik and make a nand backup, scroll down to flash from sdcard,find bootanimatiom hit power button to flash and then again for reboot

I ended up creating one as well.
Its based off of Godzson's bootanimation, and I added alil bit to make it my own.
