Hi everyone,
I have purchaced the paid version of Ip Cam Viewer.
Before downloading the application the authorization for PHONE CALLS: read phone state and ID was not asked via the android market interface.
Once the application was installed I could see in the apllication settings that the app had the "read phone state and ID " access.
I have contacted the developper who told me that this permission was not written in the app code.
Another user with the same app told me that the Read_Phone_State wasnt displayed in his settings menu so the problem really come from my system.
I have a G2 (Desire Z) running with Android 2.2.1.
Any idea of what is going on?
Thank you for your replies.

I too would seek the answer to this question. I asked Motorola support and they did not know, and they said the online 'find my phone' service was not compatible with this phone, yet we have these settings preconfigured...
Motorola enterprise device management sdk
Might be related to this:
MOTOROLA ENTERPRISE DEVICE MANAGEMENT SDK
http://www.motorola.com/sites/motodev/library/enterprise_device_management.html
Looks like a service through which enterprises (or yourself) can create an app to control your phone.
One wonders whether an app can be created that asks the 'device manager' to install an 'su' binary on the users behalf (ie. root the phone).
"Motorola Services" is a system process used when you do "system upgrades" in the "About phone" settings.
If you freeze "Motorola Services", you won't be able to receive system / OS upgrades from motorola, or be notified of availability of those upgrades.

Hi there!
I'd rather like to decline all or at least the most pre-installed apps on my Android device.
To give some information:
- Moto G
- KitKat
- rooted
I don't know, if kernel and build are necessary, so I skip them first. The app I'm using to specifically deny and grant 3g as well as wifi networking is called DroidWall at version 1.5.7. I denied every system app, but got absolutely no internet access with my device as a result. So I started to allow the first orig. app to go into the internet, then one more and so on until all had network access again. The miseree was, that I still got no network connection until I discovered the bad guy. Firefox needed access. And then it worked again. But I don't use Firefox anymore but Dolphin instead, so I decided to uninstall Firefox. The bad thing is the miseree striked again. No network acces while denied pre-installed apps.
My Question now is, which applications are necessary for internet access?
Thanks in advance!
And please excuse any language mistakes, english isn't my native language.
HI,
This question was already asked in the following link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/olacabs-login-failure-t3062711
But there was not proper solution there and thread was also closed so i am just reopening it here.
I am trying to login in to ola cabs app ( please search for ola cabs in play store).
After the first login I am getting an error "U have exceeded the maximum number of logins you cannot login further" .
I have rooted my phone run xposed framework and installed the app Imei changer ( not illegal since this app only masks an Imei donot change it) and I am successfully able to mask the Imei ,but even after this I am not able to login into the olacabs .For this reason I want to know apart from device I'd or Imei I'd what else is the ola cabs app checking while logging in.
I have even used XPrivacy app to restrict identifiction and randomised most of the thing such as mac,ssid,subscriber id,android id but still I am not able to login with other account.
I am not interested in hacking olacabs but i am just eager to know in what ways the application(specifically olacabs) can able to identify us.
Sorry for my bad english.
If you are not able to understand, better look at the above link, you can get a clear idea what i am trying to ask.
Edit: I have found the solution to avoid it by restricting permission for that app(except internet) but I need to know device identification that are used by android applications in comman rather than id and imei.
Hi everyone, my new update to M on my Huawei gives me a hard time. I cannot set access rights for apps because it wants me to enable (or disable) overlay rights to some app I cannot identify. Actually I would have expected the name of the related app to be printed in the message but it doesn't do that. Many have problems with that message using screen filtering apps .. but I am not aware of using such app.
I have read that the permission in question is "android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW".
I am now looking for a sort of batch tool that allows for an easy change of this permission to all apps e.g.:
Store current state; toggle all on or off; restore state
I looked at some privacy managers and the state appears. But didn't find one (yet?) that allows me to do this to all apps at once.
Can anyone point me to a tool that can help me? Regrettably I am not a programmer.
Hi friends,
Could you please advise on this?
We are coding an Android app that has their users login via Facebook (SDK v[4,5)). Our app requests only the user_friends permission, after which, it is supposed to display a listing of their current FB friends, that have our application also installed.
For obvious UX purposes, the login screen is displayed only upon fresh install; any subsequent app launches check for the login state and skip that screen if logged in. This is done using the following snippet:
if(AccessToken.getCurrentAccessToken()!=null){
// skip
}else{
// show login button, request the user_friends permission
}
My friend (#1) and I have installed the app, since we had been friends and FB already, we saw each other in the listing as expected. So far, so good.
The problem started to occur when we added a new friend (#2) on FB afterwards and had him install the app. - Out of the box, me and #1 cannot see #2 in our listings, #2 cannot see us - In the Graph API Explorer (logged in as me, new token generated), I can see #2, but NOT #1.
So we check (Log.i()) the user-access token that our app uses and it turns out, it stays the same for days. If I uses that specific token in the Graph API Explorer, I see only #1 listed, just like the app would show.
Logging out and logging back in (reinstalling app or using a newly-added logout button) fixes the listing (with a token generated AFTER #2 granted user_friends to the app), but this has to be done on existing apps every time a new user is friended on FB and installs the app, which is bad for UX.
Also, meanwhile I changed my name on FB (only order) and our app does not refresh it either, I can see my name in app the same as when I have installed the app to my phone for the first time. Reinstalling the app and re-logging in app does not solve this, it only helps to display new friends that have newly installed the app.
Moreover I want to be able to refresh the friends listing in onResume, not just when the app is launched, but the token seems stuck in the past.
Any help on this???
MAYBE - Is there a way to force-reset the user-access token without bothering the user with a login/grant-permission prompt?
Guys, any help much appreciated, as we cannot move on a step, it is so crucial. Thank you
