My omnia 7 gives me "no service" using my telenor SIM card. It works with another operator (tele2) in Norway. I tested my sim card in a htc hd7 without luck. Also tested a microsim (attached to ordinary size plastic frame of course) with my number without success. Neither telenor nor Samsung have any solution except investigating further.

I have just bought a new HTC Touch Pro, but when I inserted the SIM card, it wasn't recognised. The phone shows "No SIM". My SIM works fine on my old XDA IIi. I tried a spare old SIM card on the Touch Pro and it worked (so I did insert my SIM right).
I restarted the phone, removed the SIM card and inserted it again and again but no luck !
I noticed that the old SIM which worked with TP has a bigger yellow part (the active part whatever it's called). I don't know if this is related to the problem.
Please help !

Solved!!
Hi, buddy!
I have a samsung captivate and I was having the same trouble.
I'm brazilian and my sister send me the phone unlocked from US.
It had been working well for 5 months.
When I changed the SIM it has began asking me for the code(??!). It was programed for not asking PIN code so I got surprised. I typed my code several times until get the phone locked.
I spent more than 2 weeks to find the solution: Galaxy S Unlock, a free program available at the Market. It's necessary to root and install Busy Box (I installed mine with Titanium Backup).
Try something close to this for your device!
I hope this can be usefull!
Hello Experts,
Ok, a CDMA operator in my country began to sell Samsung's IP830w worldphone (WinMo 5), and I got two units to use with GSM SIMs. I got stolen so I locked my SIM to the second unit. Now I got Omnia II (i8000) for that SIM. Unfortunately, I have forgotten the code I used to SIM-lock. Other SIMS (even same network) don't work (asks for SIM lock code). Original SIM still works.
I did a hard reset, but it seems only the CDMA part was formatted (actually showed 'formatting CDMA' while resetting). SIM lock code is still requested when I try another SIM. Any hope to solve this?
CDMA part (SIM free) still works well.
Thank you all.

Wondering if anyone can help, im using team Eos European 3g rom zoom. now i tried 1 sim card and the 3g works perfectly but when i try my other sim, i enter the pin code on screen , it accepts it, then immediately says "Sim card removed, the mobile network will be unavailable until you restart...." .
The sim card definitely isnt broken because it works in my phone and 3g modem on my pc. I've tried restarting the xoom with Wifi off and no luck.
Thanks

how old is that "other" sim card? Reason I'm asking is that sim cards use different voltages and old cards tend to cause problems in modern devices.
Around here, providers usually swap sims for free if you say that you've got a problem with one, so I'd go for an exchange if your sim is older that maybe two years...

Its actually brand new, got it on the weekend. It works perfectly everywhere else. I think i'll go to the provider anyway today and see if i can try a sim swap.
This really is baffling me now. I went back to the providers store and tried a different one of their sim cards and it doesnt work either. I just cant understand why my xoom can read certain providers sim cards and not others? (Its definitely not network locked). Could it possibly be the type of sim card (as in a 32k vs 64k etc)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Okay so I bought Panasonic NTT docomo P-05D DisneyMobile. It's unlocked, at least should be BUT my 3 network micro-sim card doesn't work. I tried different cards o2 (one of the 1st sim cards I just cut it and it works - UK) as well as 2 Polish cards Play and Orange which worked too. I live in UK and obviously there is nothing to do that it doesn't work in my country. I want the three network to work.
The phone is 3G phone and the card I use only works on 3G phone which shouldn't be a problem. The card works fine on other phone.
Could it be possibly something wrong with the system that needs to be re-installed or that it might not be unlocked properly?
I really don't want to get rid of the phone, I love it but it's a shame that my sim card doesn't work.
Hi All
I have a Galaxy Tab 2 7" Model GT-P3100 I have not used it very much as I mostly use my S3. I bought it from Hong Kong, when it was tested in the shop in HK there was no issue with anything, all worked fine. I have since brought it back to England, mostly used it on wi-fi at home, then recently I decided to get a sim card to put in it to use it out and about.
When I put the sim card in, it comes up with a message box "SIM card added - Restart your device to access the mobile network - Restart" so I click restart and wait for the reload. But it doesn't recognise the sim card and still has "No SIM - Insert SIM card" within the notifications box as ongoing.
Now if I remove the sim card from the device while it is still on, it comes with a message box "SIM card removed - The mobile network will be unavailable until you restart with a valid SIM card inserted - Restart"
This sim card I am using has been tested in other phones and it works no problem, it is a pay monthly contract with Orange. I have also tried other SIM cards in this device and have the same response from every one.
So after doing some reading online and on this forum, I rooted the Tab and then used GalaxSim Unlock to unlock the phone, thinking it may be becasue I bought it in Hong Kong, the Tab is now unlocked but still shows the symptoms above.
Is there anything else I can do to get it to recognise the SIM or do I need to unroot it and send it back to Samsung?
Any help is gratefully received.

flash a custom rom ( stable is cm10.1.2) or a customised stock rom.I thinks it will fix your prob
It is not a ROM related problem.
Go to your network operator and have your old sim card replaced with the new one (with the same number if you want). Sometimes, an old sim card just don't work with newer service. G' luck..

Thanks to you both, the sim card is new, only 2 months old. I have just flashed CM10.1.2 and not only does it not recognise the sim card, I also can't do anything as the android keyboard crashes all the time.
I am going to try to reboot with the latest nightly to see if that helps.
I am now running the latest CM 10.2 from 21.8
The SIM is still not recognised and now my PC is not recognising the Tab either.
When I first plugged it in it came up with installing drivers for Google Galaxy Nexus?? Is this normal
Hi this is the same problem I have on mine,I am starting to think it is the card reader that is the problem ? which wont be a easy job to replace for me
Might be hardware problem
use triangle away to wipe binary on downloadmode then install a stock rom and contact service center to repair it under warranty (if your device have warranty)
Just flash a different modem
