Need dev for simple widget. - Android Apps and Games

Would it be possible for someone to make a simple widget just to toggle the app wireless tether to start and stop? I know quite a few people who really want a simple way to just toggle it. And I know its just being lazy to not click in but I tether a good twenty times a day and its tedious.

Do a search for "tethering widget". I guess that is what you want.

Close but that turns on my hot spot which I don't use. I use the app wireless tether.

I don't know a lot about Tasker, but you might be able to accomplish this using that app. Give it a shot.

I can't get it to do anything beyond opening the app. Basically I'm trying to get something that will open the app and hit an on screen button. Then preferably go back to the home screen.

No other ideas?

[APP REQ] Split Screen W/ 2 App Running

Every morning when I get in my car I turn my winamp player and speedview app on. While I am driving I have to switch back and forth between app's to change the song.
What I am wondering is there a way to have a split screen like you can do on your home computer?
Yes before anyone says something I know I should not mess with my phone when driving...I am trying to prevent having to
I am sure someone else would have other needs for an app like this as well. Like surfing the web and texting at the same time...
bump....this has to be of interest to someone....I am willing to donate $50 for this app...

That's one thing I really miss from WebOS, the ability to control music from the notification bar without changing screens. If someone could make this happen on Android it would be awesome.
I forget what it's called, but there is an app that basically gives you an additional home screen that you open/close with the search button without actually leaving the app you are in. You can put a music widget on there and control your music with that.
Edit..... Found it, it's called Quickdesk.

(Q) - Android app to modify physical power button features

Hey guys,
Haven't been able to find this and it's been driving me slightly nuts. Is there any android app that allows you to change the options that come up when you hold your power button?
Right now my G2 only has power/air plane mode/silent mode.
I would like to change my button to have a few more options like restart/wireless/hotspot. I am NOT looking for a widget that gives these options. I'm also hoping I don't have to flash a new rom. If the app needs root that's fine becaue I use visionary.
Please let me know if you guys know of an option.
Thanks in advanced

Well. I'll try to bump one more time.

I'm also interested in this, I believe it would be a wonderful thing.

This really needs to be posted in a phone-specific forum rather than the general one as your answer will probably have hardware limitations. That being said, I doubt Android will allow something like that without a new ROM. IMO

[Q] Phone notifications on TF?

forgive me if this has been posted somewhere.
Is there a way to receive notifications from my EVO 3D on my Transformer?
the only thing i can think of is maybe like vnc server apps like that i know i can access my phone from my tablet home screen and all ... i think that might be the best option of apps similar to that.
That was the first thing i considered also. Seems like a battery drainer to keep running all the time(in my head anyway). I was hoping for a bluetooth type option(also a drainer lol).
Sorry on bluetooth option, not much I can suggeest on that one good luck

App to control your computer from your phone?

I remember seeing an app where you can actually view your computer's homescreen directly on your phone and control is. What app is this?
Also, do you need to be on the same wifi to control it or could I be away from my house and still control my home computer from my phone?
TeamViewer is your answer.
You can find it in the Market.

Sweet, thanks! How exactly do you set this up? And can you control the computer when you aren't on your home wifi? And does anyone need to be at the computer to "activate" something?
Splashtop hd.. Install app.. Install program on computer connect them up and bobs ya sister lol

You go to their website and download the PC or MAC or Linux client. Then you set up an account from the client and make sure under settings you tell it to allow all connections and tweak the settings to your liking.
Then go on your phone, log in to the app, select the computer and boom! Your desktop shows up.
I'm not sure if it works on 3G/4G since I don't have a data plan but its flawless over wifi. Anf it does work outside of your home wifi network.
And no, if you tweak the settings no one has to be at the computer to "activate" it.

Sick!!! Good to know, now I can access my computer anywhere....
The best one is Logmein
It even supports my dualmonitors. Definitely worth it for this app guys.
I use team viewer, i have it controlled on my netbook, desktop and phone. and i use a common password so whereever i go I can always access all 3 things
very useful.
also, choose the setting that doens't give you a new password everytime you end a session.
do they have gotomeeting or citrix?
Not that I know of.

A way to auto-start GPS when navi starts?

Back in the Dinc days I had tasker start the GPS automatically whenever navigation started...but it doesn't look like that is possible with ICS/JB. I'm running beans 9
Does anybody have any idea on how to get this through tasker or other means? Thanks
Personally, I just leave my gps on all the time...
I don't see why Tasker wouldn't work though...
Sent from my (not really) SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
You can use Tasker, but you also need the Secure Settings app with the Root Helper installed in order for 3rd party apps to modify GPS settings. Why Google restricted it like that in Android 3.0+, I'm really not sure...

Phone Weaver can do it...

So do I, there is no reason not to really.
Leaving GPS on doesn't affect battery life enough to even notice.
