[Rom] Gingerbread Daily rom! - G1 Android Development

Ok first off i want to apologize for the previous post about the Rom.
But here it is a huge leap for getting gingerbread on our g1s
i am not a developer i just simple tried and failed tried and succeeded
Now here for the unbelievable part this rom is fully functioning other than 3d launcher.
steps in flashing:
Wipe all recommended flashing superwipe
Flash the rom
Flash gapps
Done
Now second i realized it was not getting root access to fix this simply download superuser from the market.
this rom was made for the magic aka mytouch 3g
Links
Rom:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NKNFC89O
Gapps:
http://goo-inside.me/google-apps/gapps-gb-20110114-signed.zip
Now tht i think of it there is one other bug the browser likes to fc but i am sure you can download a alternative browser from the market. Let me know.

I want to try this but I don't wanna be the first one. :0 After someone else does it and posts on here about it, I'll be flashing this.
So it's a fully functioning stable rom!? And its gingerbread?
*i would be more willing to flash if there was some pictures of the proof of 2.3 and things working!*

If this is for the mt3g shouldn't it be posted in that section..

i have this exact setup on mine right it works great i cannot post screenies cause im tethering from my g1 right now and it would take hours to upload but i can assure it is a great rom try it be the second person to have fully functioning gingerbread on g1 i believe i was the first lol.

C'mon, its just a picture! Maybe I'll try this. So it definitely is fully functioning, for daily use? Other than the browser fc'ing? And is it speedy and battery life is good? Gah, sorry for the questions...I want to try this soon, but I don't have time to waste on roms that don't work perfectly. I'm sure this is a great work though.

just give a couple of minutes and ill post the screenies for you guys.

so you claim with this ROM you can read all gmail email one by one without Gmail relooping or restarting?

it works with the 2708 radio. if your stuck in a bootloop flash the newest pershoot or ezterry kernel

it does work. i edited my post with instructions to get it working perfectly fine.

So if I have the latest radio and danger spl, I should flash the pershoot kernel and then this is ok to flash? Anyone have a report on speed, and later on battery life?

[ROM] [MT3G LE,1.2] KiNgxKxROM Sense Hybrid v2.3 ported

Using dsixda's rom kitchen and with some trial and error with a few other roms I ran into some luck with KiNgxKxROM Sense Hybrid v2.3.
It's a bit of a pain to get past the setup screen (or at least for me) so you just have to have some patience.
What doesn't work:
Wi-Fi (I need someone with some experience to help with that if you don't mind)
Camera
Anything else that we might discover
What this does have:
It should have everything that the original rom has
Bluetooth works
Multitouch browser
Anything else that we might discover
Requirements
A rooted MyTouch 1.2 device (duh!)
SDCARD with fat/swap/ext3 partition (not sure if 2 or 4 works... haven't tested. Let me know)
A complete wipe (dalvik-cache, data, ext partiton)
A little patience.
I had it freeze up a couple of times on me so this is far from perfect but it might be a start to someone that wants to rip it apart and try it for themselves, upload it and I'll update the link for a more perfected version.
And please don't ask:
[Q] "Why are you posting a Cupcake 1.5 rom up when we're expecting Eclair at anytime now?"
[A] Because it just so happened to work. Okay?
But therein may lay the problem with the stability. A 1.6 kernel with a 1.5 rom would very likely tend to cause some issues... but I don't think it's half bad since it's my first ported rom.
So if any mouth-breathers wants to get all hyper about this not being perfect release I'll invite you to give it a shot. I intend on experimenting with more to see what I can get to work. In the meantime, this is a start I think.
I'm hoping that someone can help me figure out the wifi and camera issues so that we can have this closer to completion. Other than those I think this is pretty much finished. Unless someone discovers something that I didn't with my entire 15 minutes of playing around with it.
Click the disclaimer below to download.
Enjoy!

Most Hero roms are pretty laggy. You have to enable swap to get it to smooth out. I'm playing with a few more right now. I'm trying to find a decent 1.6 and 2.1 Hero roms that work.
alright i enable swap its some wat smoother but still alittle buggy i think its because of the kernel

Okay... the reason why the touchscreen doesn't work is because there is a boot.img in that zip file. Inside the boot.img is the kernel which allows the wlan.ko for the wi-fi to operate. Even if I was to just use those files (that is without the boot.img) it still more than likely won't work. It would likely bare the same results. Does your bluetooth work still?
yup works 100% percent ill try to edit the port so the touchscreen works, if i have any sucess ill tell u

Your problem is that the Deport file is a kernel. So you are flashing a non working kernel over our working kernel. Thats why there is no touch. To get the wifi working you gota push a wlan file from another rom.. but then it normaly takes out bluetooth.
EDIT- Ooops.. Its a 1.5 rom.. Think Ill say NEY lol

[Kernal] Fresh 2.3.3 OC 710 undervolt darchshiz #15 Kernal/boot.img flashable zip

This Kernal is meant for Fresh 2.3.3 roms and might work on other fresh roms as well. This has not been fully tested but is working great on my phone. I take no credit for this. You can thank Decad3nce for puting together the boot.img and Darch for his once again great kernal. This still has the Free memkiller in it. Esentually this is the darchshiz #15 kernal with the 710 free memkiller ramdisk that is out.
thanks goes to making this too
Decad3nce for putting it together
Darchstar for his undervolt and kernal work
Urushiol for the initial ramdisk
Toastch for his great kernal base
Use at your own risk
I am not responsible for any issues with your phone after flashing this
Always nandroid before flashing
Enjoy
Fresh_2.3.3_OC_710_UV_DarchShiz_#15.zip
To install
1. download and put on root of sd card
2. restart phone in recovery mode
3. make a nandroid
4. flash a zip from sd card
5. reboot
best of luck and thank you again Decad3nce and Darch
testing right now.

This should work great, only I believe this kernel will have the AOSP touch screen driver so there will be input lag. Would love to get a zImage of this with HTC synaptics

=)I wish I could, I haven't managed to learn enough just yet to compile the kernel image from scratch with the right driver, I can bust open a kernel and mess with the ram disk, but that's as far as I can go, we need Darch!

lower voltage = less power consumption = better battery life = cpu runs cooler = longer cpu life. all while maintaining the same performance as long as stability is achieved at the same cpu speed

Confirmed working on fresh 2.3.3 just tested it. Great job! My gf's hero is almost as badass as mine with CM6.0
Have been running for a few hours with no issues. And, I'm not seeing any unlock lag or lags of any kind when waking up so far.
Great job to all who made this work! I'd thank you each individually, but I don't know who all's work went into this.

lol there is a lot of differences. it is faster has better battery life and overclocks to 1.2 ghz. the frameworks have been optimized for more performance and battery. also there is a lot of theming to remove samsungs ugly colors. it is not just a kernel. it is a rom that instead of flashing moves files in place.

[Q] First time CM7 user.

Im gonna start using the CM7.
They are telling me to install GAPPS but when I click their link it, it takes me to a place with bunch of lists..idk what to do.
and what is CM7 Nightly? is it recommended to install that?
It tells you which gapps you need to install should say ace something or other. Just download it from that list.
For gapps, you want the one I highlighted in orange.
thanks.
what else should I do with the CM7? there are many cm7 links out there and its confusing me. T_T

Do yourself a favor and flash ultimate droid instead of cm7. Ud is based on cm7, but much faster and with better battery life.

Ick! There is a reason ultimate droid isn't allowed in xda. Do yourself a favor and do some research before flashing. Also I kinda don't understand how something that is merely a hacked and skinned version of cm7 is so much better.

This is the reason why I lol every time I see someone say that. It's just a re-skinned CM7 with a few more features (that you can do yourself) and a different kernel.
On topic, I would flash the latest nightly. It's just as stable as 7.0.2.

ICS amazing on Cappy

I just wanted to say thanks to guys for the work on ICS on the Captivate. I'm an experienced flasher (almost addicted), and I'm impressed. Thread can be found here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363760
I did a few things little different because I've never quite liked the CM Rom, but that's just me. I flashed mine over Cognition 5v2, but you have to twice. Also, I had to go back and put on the uckb1 modem....and started getting 2 to 3 bars on my signal where I used to never get any, with any phone. Slapped in Contol Freak and overclocked it to 1.3 ghz, Volume Control+ for some volume, and this sucker is blazingly fast, amazingly stable, and makes the Cappy even that much more impressive.
Sad part...two days ago was showing off my Super Soldering skills I did on applying Adam's Unbrickable Mod (yes I had my phone apart with the board in my hand in the middle of Wal-Mart's parking lot) when my screen slid off the car and sadly is now cracked....and it's still amazing!
The crazy crap that happens at Wal*Mart. Wtf lol
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I love ICS on my cappy, I used Onecosmic's ICS 4.0.3 RC2.11 for i897 and couldn't be happier, I went from a non-rooted stock 2.3.5 to a rooted ICS and JVT modem which effectively fixed all my GPS woes as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398223
Absolutely love ICS. Thank you to all that worked on it. My phone has been really stable and usable. Love it. I was planning on selling it and invest into something new but not anymore. I'll use it until it dies or someone gifts me a newer phone. **Doesn't happen often.
Thanks again ICS team.

Teamhacksungs ICS build 13 is what I am using now, and it is very stable. The main advantage for myself is the increased battery life, way better stock web browser, among other things, you should give it a try. (I have been using it since way back, like build 3, lol)
They updated today to build 14 but I don't see any improvements in it that are relevant for the way I use the phone, so I am going to skip 14 and see what happens with build 15.
Hope this helps.

Flash back to stock first (I use kh3 one click with cwm) then flash teamhacksung Rom, let boot fully, flash gapps 7.1, reboot and enjoy.
You must flash back to stock gingerbread first cause u probably have voodoo enabled on ur file structure, therefore ics won't install.

Glad it worked out ics is like a totally different experience.
I can't go back to gingerbread after ics, lol. I also found cm7 (181) to be very stable too .
Just be sure before flashing custom roms, its a good idea to keep that one click handy due to differences in file structures, it avoids a lot of frustration.
